this dude is the shit...ever since I started watching this guy's videos I plasti dip everything. I dipped my gsxr vintage gold, black and white. It looks unearthly. matched my helmet to it. Learned how to do it 100% by watching a handful of dyc's videos.
Agreed with HumanFlightMachine. Especially now with these new options of awesome dip colors, smaller quantities of all of your RDS would be a glorious idea. I'd love to do a candy Blurple on my wheels, but wouldn't want to invest in an entire gallon of RDS for it.
Just a thought but if you inform the people that if they are scared to do this, even if you mess up it can easily be re-done. Just peel it off and start over. I haven't done this myself but from what I've watched in your videos that's what I've collected. Great videos!
Agreed with Humanflightmachine, You should make half gallons on the glossifiers. 1 gallon is illegal to ship in CA. Please make half gallons or something
I have been following DYC for a few years now and have been seeing a lot of transformations and and the way colors are played with, awesome product and always a good vid with tons of info
Thank you for this video. It was very information and well layed out. The normal vids are great inspiration but these ones are the ones that make me want to go out and give it a try. Keep it up
fonzie can you do a video tutorial on a b5 or b6 passat ? im having trouble getting plans together for a murdered out VW and tips on what rims and appliances you recommend for it . Thanks
hey ***** could you do a video with the pearls and compare each colour with a black and white base? Just like you did with the Blaze colours. Just wondering if the white base would make it pop more. Kinda want to see it before making my decision on what I use for my car
Can you do a video mixing pearls with micro flakes of a different color. Also if I have a paint color I like on my stock car, is there a way to match it with plasti dip colors?
Damn Fonzi, can I come work for you guys?? alex nunez said it on the spot you guys have transformed in a great way. I wish I lived on the west coast to do this everyday. Up here in Boston you gotta have extra prep to do work. Awesome work
I have a question. I'm gonna plasti dip my entire car with Intense Teal dip, and I was just wondering. Would I be able to add the Mixflakes over the intense teal base coat, without changing the color of it too much? Intense teal is the exact color I want, but I want a bit of a pearl/metallic look to it. What can I do to achieve that color?
Rather than painting an interior inside the car, it would be 100% easier and CLEANER to just remove the parts you want dipped and spray it outside the car and re-install them.
Hey Fonzie - thx a lot for your really great videos !! its a pleasure to learn everything about the DYC products step by step THAT very easy way. Great job *thumbsup*
Can you use only matte or only glossifier with the top coat pearl? In video you mixed both but I think it was for a toned down shine? And glossifier is the most high gloss available?
You can use either one or the other OR both as they did. That is all personal preference. You could mix them into straight glossifier, but you will need to be careful of runs as glossifier is thinner than matte clear. Adding the weight of the pearl powders will increase the chance of runs occurring.
Hey Fonzie, thanks for the great vid. I think the preval sprayer would be great to do rims in custom colors that do not come in spray cans and a bit easier than using the spray gun. How many uses can the Preval sprayer be used for until a refill is needed?
Could I mix pearls and metal flakes? Like 9 parts rally blue pearls with 1 part gold flakes on a black base. Will that have little gold flecks or will it look more green? Will it affect application? Thanks!
Hello, I'm from Brazil and I'm very short on your video. You could put in the video description the materials that you use and how you prepare it would be easier for me to understand and how do I buy the pigments that you use. Congratulations on your work.
Hey Fonzie, If you watch Puzzleman's mustang video you can see how he did not spray the whole side instead of going panel by panel FYI lol I used to work in a body shop so I knew what you meant.
Can you use the pearls with glossifier and Matte Clear, as a base coat and top coat? So that you only use this? Instead of having a black base coat, and then spray on the pearls?
Would I be able to put the microflakes or the pearl in the color instead of clear? Like putting the lime green microflakes in the black base coat and what would it look like?
I would die to see a video with gold micro flakes and pearls on rims with a high gloss finish. I have been waiting for so long for this combination for my rims! I'm throwing money at my screen but nothing seems to be happening?
So I'm going to be spraying my whole car. I'm using black as a base coat. I want to use Alien pearl RL-71 will 32oz of 50% matte clear 32oz 50% glossifire and 25 grams of Alien pearl do my whole car? If not how much should I mix? Thanks for the help in advance.
when you have the blue tack coat can you come back and add a color red shift tack coat to get a purple coat? I know you have a purple shift blend but I don't want the green in it.
Can you apply the pearl on normal paint or do you need to apply dip first? I am thinking about doing a pearl white but the car is already white. Can I just add the pearl on it?
Cool looks great !! I have a question about a spray gun ... I want to buy one but do not know what is suitable for painting cars ... have any recommendations? Would love to have a link or product name thenks :)
do you guys have a spray sheet with all this mixing info on it? or a booklit? kinda like ppg's spray sheet. i feel like that would help alot, not that i don't like watching your video's but the info is very here and there. let me know please
hi. i got a good question! does that 50grms of pearl color bag is special for plasti dip or it works the same from aech other kinds of paints. greatings from Venezuela country
Dear Fonzie, Can you do a chameleon paint job using Candy Green, and Candy Blue. Can you also make the car a Dodge Challenger, I want to restore a Plymouth Cuda' , so I want to see if that paint combination would look good or not. Thanks!
What's the difference between matte clear and glossifier and top coat, I have seen you mix these and then you mixed flakes with glossifier? Is the topcoat even needed?
Can you use plasti dip on plastic surfaces? and how is it going to react is it harder or easyer to take off? I have a bike with plastic fairings. (dont know if it's called that?!)
What if you wanted one color with the pearls but you also wanted to add flakes but not change the color of the pearl?? In other words is there any flakes that are just flakes with no color?
I wonder what a Carribean blue/Green chameleon pearl, maybe a Seafoam green pearl, a little candy blue pearl, with a Aqua blue metallic mixed would look over a intense teal plasti base? Too much? Too crazy? Perhaps Possible? Sounds amazing to me. That would be very confusing to prepare correctly I'd think! But I'd do it.... If I knew how to mix it perfectly so the consistency isn't wrong! Any ides/thoughts? or is this a bad idea?
Would I have to start with a plastidip base or could I start with my basic car color I'm trying to do it a pearl for my whole small Saturn s series under $200
THANK YOU for using the Preval sprayer. Mixing the pearls and using the sprayer is exactly what I was trying to figure out the logistics of.
this dude is the shit...ever since I started watching this guy's videos I plasti dip everything. I dipped my gsxr vintage gold, black and white. It looks unearthly. matched my helmet to it. Learned how to do it 100% by watching a handful of dyc's videos.
How long would you say plasti dip last?
Depends on the layers u spray on a fairingpanel.
Do some research on youtube, I heard 4-6 layers can hold 2 years maybe even more.
Agreed with HumanFlightMachine. Especially now with these new options of awesome dip colors, smaller quantities of all of your RDS would be a glorious idea. I'd love to do a candy Blurple on my wheels, but wouldn't want to invest in an entire gallon of RDS for it.

Can we buy smaller qualities of glossifier? Dont need a gallon
Fonzie sells this product so well
naijaflavor60 because it’s his
Agreed with Humanflightmachine, You should make half gallons on the glossifiers. 1 gallon is illegal to ship in CA. Please make half gallons or something
I have been following DYC for a few years now and have been seeing a lot of transformations and and the way colors are played with, awesome product and always a good vid with tons of info
so you can tell me how much of plasti dip do i need for a 4 doors ford ranger. i want to paint it with 5 codes of camo
Love the dead pan humor at 12:59.
what happens when you mix a tint with a gallon of gloss? will you get a transparent color? or will it ruin the gloss
I am a bit skeptical about the lumps on the surface...does it go away when it dries ?
theres a lot of dip on that hood he uses it in a lot of videos
Thank you for putting up these videos. I feel a bit more confident that I can do this now.
you should make smaller quantities of clear and gloss, or make a vid of using the pearls with just clear so I can see what it looks like.
can you do a video over the various ways to apply dip? like the sprayers, the preval systems and so forth?
Thank you for this video. It was very information and well layed out. The normal vids are great inspiration but these ones are the ones that make me want to go out and give it a try. Keep it up
Love it, love it, love it! I think I know now what color to dip my car with.
Wow the more I look into ur videos I just want to dip every car I own! Lol sooo many options its amazing! Great vids man!
Would it make a color difference if I used the micro flakes over a matte white or matte clear rather than a matte black?
Do you need to have the matte black as a base or can you use the normal paint
Can you mix micro flakes direct with red or black plasti dip?????
I wish you guys would have done the last part over a white basecoat too! :)
fonzie can you do a video tutorial on a b5 or b6 passat ?
im having trouble getting plans together for a murdered out VW and tips on what rims and appliances you recommend for it . Thanks
Can u add the Burt orange and the firebelly together if so u should do it on a sample
iv used the preval 4 touch ups with the dip b4 it works great
The green micro flake reminds me of HD's Hard Candy paints
12:55 There's this new invention call a funnel! OMG tooo funny "I'm gonna fill the Preval Sprayer, very ineffectively..."
hey ***** could you do a video with the pearls and compare each colour with a black and white base? Just like you did with the Blaze colours. Just wondering if the white base would make it pop more. Kinda want to see it before making my decision on what I use for my car
Can you do a video mixing pearls with micro flakes of a different color.
Also if I have a paint color I like on my stock car, is there a way to match it with plasti dip colors?
can you use the microflake directly in pds ? want to use a white and haloflake combo for my car
Would using less of the pearl flake in your gloss mix keep it closer to staying black
Damn Fonzi, can I come work for you guys?? alex nunez said it on the spot you guys have transformed in a great way. I wish I lived on the west coast to do this everyday. Up here in Boston you gotta have extra prep to do work. Awesome work

When using Chameleon pearls, how much glossifier do you need and how much matte clear do you need when dipping a car
Can you show us how to plastic dip the inside the car? With electric green
Rather than painting an interior inside the car, it would be 100% easier and CLEANER to just remove the parts you want dipped and spray it outside the car and re-install them.
autobotguy I try. its hard lol. I'm going try again though when the snow goes away
Hey Fonzie - thx a lot for your really great videos !! its a pleasure to learn everything about the DYC products step by step THAT very easy way. Great job *thumbsup*

If your car is already black, do you need to do a black base coat before doing the pearl top coat?
yes
This makes me want to open a paint shop...
Hello, I'm from Brazil and I'm very short on your video. You could put in the video description the materials that you use and how you prepare it would be easier for me to understand and how do I buy the pigments that you use. Congratulations on your work.
Can you guys paint a full car with that blue pearl you did on the first section? Really considering that color on my car
Hey Fonzie, If you watch Puzzleman's mustang video you can see how he did not spray the whole side instead of going panel by panel FYI lol
I used to work in a body shop so I knew what you meant.
Instead of using the Glossifier or Clear Matte, could you use the Pearlizer with this product to have a more pearlized effect?
Can you use the pearls with glossifier and Matte Clear, as a base coat and top coat?
So that you only use this? Instead of having a black base coat, and then spray on the pearls?
Would it work if I put 50 grams of pearls into a full gallon of glossifier instead of a 50/50 blend ?
Yes it will it says in the video in text at the bottom
This might be a dumb question, but could you just add the micro flake to a gallon of glossifier?
yes u can
are you not worried about the black dip from the mixer is going to reliquify into your clear?
So when using the pearls, can you use just the gloss to get the more factory looking finish? Instead of that matte finish
Great! The blue is awesome
Would I be able to put the microflakes or the pearl in the color instead of clear? Like putting the lime green microflakes in the black base coat and what would it look like?
Can you mix the pearl additives with a regular PlastiDip color and still achieve an effect?
wow your videos have gotten way better man.
If you add micro flakes or pearls or even gloss will you still be able to peel of paint easily as the other videos which matt plastic dip was used???
I have a question-while this finish is designed with automobiles in mind, can be used on other things as well, like models, or props, etc?
Dip your car!!!! Great youtube page and website. Thumbs up to all the videos from you guys. Great job keep it up
I would die to see a video with gold micro flakes and pearls on rims with a high gloss finish. I have been waiting for so long for this combination for my rims! I'm throwing money at my screen but nothing seems to be happening?
ha first time i heard you having some sense of humor in a video didnt know you had that in you haha. Awesome video dude thanks
Id like to see shark skin gray with the holographic flake but use way less flake in your clear
has to be matte black for the basr coat or could be black color?
So I'm going to be spraying my whole car. I'm using black as a base coat. I want to use Alien pearl RL-71 will 32oz of 50% matte clear 32oz 50% glossifire and 25 grams of Alien pearl do my whole car? If not how much should I mix? Thanks for the help in advance.
Is it the same for white pearl
Can I use conventional spray gun for this? what would be the pressure and fluid tip required? Thanks
Big question! is it possible to use pearls or micro flakes with colors (matte black, yellow, blue) instead of Clear Gloss?
This may be a silly question but I just had to ask. Can that powder be mixed with water?
when you have the blue tack coat can you come back and add a color red shift tack coat to get a purple coat? I know you have a purple shift blend but I don't want the green in it.
Can you mix pearls with Black Plasti-dip, And if so will it have the same effect as mixing it with Glossifier?
Tnx for info. I needed it very much. DYC is great!
Can you apply the pearl on normal paint or do you need to apply dip first? I am thinking about doing a pearl white but the car is already white. Can I just add the pearl on it?
Sorry if this is a stupid question... Do I have to add glossifier or can I add pearls right to the plastidip
Would a light base coat change the over shade of the dip, or would multiple coats of pearl just cover anything underneath like any other dip?
Cool looks great !! I have a question about a spray gun ... I want to buy one but do not know what is suitable for painting cars ... have any recommendations? Would love to have a link or product name thenks :)
Can you mix the pearls straight into glossifier and spay it over black dip?
use a sift for the powder to distribute it better.
Can you use straight gloss for a shinny finish instead of the half and half mat to gloss?
I love that blue
do you guys have a spray sheet with all this mixing info on it? or a booklit? kinda like ppg's spray sheet. i feel like that would help alot, not that i don't like watching your video's but the info is very here and there. let me know please
hi. i got a good question! does that 50grms of pearl color bag is special for plasti dip or it works the same from aech other kinds of paints. greatings from Venezuela country
Can you add pearls to other color plastidips such as red and black to enhance the color before applying the high gloss?
Yes
If I want my car in Black and a red flaks in the finish. Can I then mix the black rubber dip with red flaks and finish it of with the glossifier?
Is it also possible to spray bigger flakes with the Preval Spray System?
Thanks. great video. My Jeep Cherokee is gonna look sweet.
Do you have to put that matte black base coat or can you apply it directly to the car paint???
Does plasti dip go through a regular spray gun no problem? Or do I need to get anything for it?
Can you spray the pearls without a plasti dip base coat? just like spray them over my car as it is?
Dear Fonzie,
Can you do a chameleon paint job using Candy Green, and Candy Blue.
Is the metallic flakes with the plasti dip thin enough to use with a small airbrush
What if you wanted one color with the pearls but you also wanted to add flakes but not change the color of the pearl?? In other words is there any flakes that are just flakes with no color?
i was wonder does it peal well if you put the flake on in a single coat or does it peel in pieces?
I wonder what a Carribean blue/Green chameleon pearl, maybe a Seafoam green pearl, a little candy blue pearl, with a Aqua blue metallic mixed would look over a intense teal plasti base? Too much? Too crazy? Perhaps Possible? Sounds amazing to me. That would be very confusing to prepare correctly I'd think! But I'd do it.... If I knew how to mix it perfectly so the consistency isn't wrong! Any ides/thoughts? or is this a bad idea?
Plans for volkswagen passat . Need tips on rim style and paint good job on the vids fonzie
what does one use to clean up spray equipment with?
do have to use a 50/50 with the preval sprayer or can you just use glossifier?
Can you spray the dip through a regular automotive paint gun?
How many gallons do i need of the pearls after a gunmetal base? and how many coats can i get with one gallon?
Why do the flakes not require the clear dip like the standard pearls?
hey fonz, can i dip a shamalangadingdong?
Thanks for the vids...very thorough.
Would I have to start with a plastidip base or could I start with my basic car color I'm trying to do it a pearl for my whole small Saturn s series under $200
