"I guess I'll give this back to Lotus and Cry". love it
I want to be like Kyle when I grow up..
Same
Not sure Kyle has grown up yet. Just a kid in a great car
He has super rich parents, so he can spend his time just driving and having fun (and building an even larger empire). You and me have to go to a job we hate every day for the rest of our lives to pay bills.
same
Keep the gas car content coming, Kyle! I like all cars, gas, EV, hybrid, whatever.
Yes
It's kind of funny he puts the ICE car reviews on his personal channel because he thinks they won't do well on the others.
@@JTube571 his regular Out of Spec viewers tend to be EV zealots
@@InternetDude Out Of Spec is an EV channel.
So he is reviewing an ICE vehicle, yet he is always advocating for BEV’s? I think that there might be some hypocrisy going on.
I'm just glad to see Geely hasn't ruined this car and that it's still coming in this form. Still feels very Lotus. We'll see if it lasts.
Kyle, this was one of the best car reviews I've ever seen. Well done! I can't wait to get my Emira!
Two favorite TH-camrs right here!
Man, I think I was naver jealous of anyones car except this Lotus Emira. From the moment it was released I always felt some kind of affection towards it. It is like it have everything in pure balanced package. thanks for whoping 1 hour of experience
In a world where Porsche and Vettes are a dime a dozen. Simple answer is, As long as it's not your only car. Get one now on lease and then turn it in for a final production run V6 or AMG I4 in 3 years like I'm doing. Just signed the paperwork on mine today and will pick it up in two days.
Manual trans is out of a Toyota truck. Good looks but flawed parts bin, slow, now overpriced (70k was fair)
@@fzr1000981 Hydraulic steering, 4 wheels double wishbone suspension alone is more than worth the cost. btw. It's an Aisin AI manual transmission, it might be in a Toyota casing but the gear ratio and all that has changed
@Wiz33 I'm picky about manual transmissions, most just aren't very good. The S2000 was above average. Have not tried the Type R yet. Would love to see this vs Type R on track.
Absolutely stunning car. I don't think I've EVER seen a car pull off yellow better than this car. I don't think I want to ever see one in another color.
A few things that stood out to me: the quality of the lighting that the headlights provide. That has to be the clearest and most even light pattern I think I've ever seen. The sight line view to the side: the sideview mirrors look almost like they're floating in the air off the side of the A pillar. While being one of the nicest looking sideview mirrors I've seen, the way the mounting is designed allows for great sight line views downward to the forward 3/4 of the car. It looks like a supercar, but is actually just an all around great sports car. Nothing insane. Great review!
Wonderful review and feedback -- well done!
Thanks for watching!
Mega, glad you liked it, I've had mine for 18 months now and absolutely love it, so much fun!! Good to see these landing on US shores now too.
Didn’t realize Kyle can drive a manual
Man that pdk boxster guy was ripping it hard , keep these ICE car videos coming!
Johnny Lieberman from Motortrend
So I test drove the Emira and the CT4-V Blackwing. The Blackwing has more power, more cargo space, can carry more passengers and costs less. The Emira looks better and maybe handles a little better. I will say I do like that the Emira doesn't try to do too much in the way of car settings. I don't need everything under the sun, but adjustable dampers would be nice.
Nice to see this, I’ve ordered this exact spec, and can’t wait for it to finally arrive! Someday…
Love this video so much. Thank you!
I'm an EV lover but this (and your other gas videos) remind me how I originally fell in love with cars. Both are great! Keep it up!
As an Emira owner this was very informative. Well done.
You need to get Farrah out there in his Spider
Great review and roads thanks. We’ve had ours for 15months and have taken it on 6 trackdays where the Emira truly shines.
Some people purchase sports cars to say, “ look at me “ and some buy sports cars to say , “ I enjoy the car “. This car is for the second group. It won’t win any drag races, but put it in its element, which are the hills and twisties, and it shines. It’s a McClaren for the everyday person.
24.7mpg is great for this car -- EPA highway is 24, so while I agree I wish it got 30mpg I don't mind. I'm averaging around 16-17mpg driving it how I want to
Great chatting with you up at Good Vibes! Hope to see you up there again!
Drove one last month and put a deposit down a few days later. Can’t wait
Amazing video. Thanks Kyle. I don't know why you censored the speedometer, you were driving pretty slow. haha
Very cool! I’m still
Only an EV guy though.
24mpg on a v6 doesn't shock me. My previous '12 golf R got 19mpg. That was ridiculous. My 6.2L Silverado 1500 gets almost 17 average...
Looks like a fun car. Seem reminiscent of the NA1 Gen1 NSX. Speaking of NSX, where is your NC1 gen2 video? I came here for that.
I've heard a few Europeans saying the headlights are among, if not, the best.
Fuel consumption couldn’t be further from my mind when I consider a fun car like this. When you consider how few miles most of these will get driven per year, it’s really not a major concern for most buyers. If my Elise got half the fuel economy it does now, I would still drive it the same amount.
I grew up on those roads from Angeles Crest to Malibu to Ojai. You coming from CO and you thinking our roads are world class is really saying something. I thought the Rockies would have epic roads too?
Room for 2 AND luggage? That's not really the Lotus way now is it? Elise was always one or the other, the trunk barely fit my helmet!
Is the alignment off at all? You mentioned it would drive on lift off and torque steer on full throttle, and that wasn't my experience on their track.
So I have a six speed cayman S and the chances to enjoy it are so slim with traffic everywhere
Love to have an automatic Emira I know sinful but for 90% of what I would be driving in I would gladly give up the pain of shifting in traffic.
I am having a hard time pick this, a Cayman GTS 4.0, a 2YO CPO 992, or a 2YO CPO Lexus LC500 or H……
The seat actually goes waaaayyy down and back. The controller is just weird.
91 is the highest octane in California for all gas companies?
Here in BC, shell has their 93 octane, and Chevron has 94 octane.
Esso(Exxon) top grade is 91, along with Petro-Canada. Petro-Canada has the best refineries, to remove the highest percentage of impurities from crude oil.
Yes, almost everywhere in CA the max is 91
Great car. I hope Lotus doesn’t submit to the EV fanboy hype and discontinue the Emira.
I heard Emira will be the last ICE Lotus.
this car needs a wheel alignment. An Emira does not dive left and right.
So you want to buy an Elmira? What happened to the Taycan GTS you had on order?
Non-supercharged in a rav4, that engine only got 24 mpg. It was designed around early 2000. It is what it is on the efficiency. Very reliable engines though, Toyota had them in everything.
Video starts with Kyle looking quite bored while driving an amazing car!! Ho hum just another day….
He was focussed on his mission to enjoy the beauty of life.
Speed thrills or kills?
Kyle just Fyi you can see your speed in the reflection at 32:09
at a glance the car always kinda looks like it rear ended someone
Liber-swine ain’t playing around in that boxster.
