    Excellent restoration work as always mate, looked great once you were done. What an interesting piece! With all these awesome vintage razors lying around I'm surprised you ever have even 2mm of stubble, I'd be itching to try them out!

      +EveryDay Knife Guy Thanks buddy. I used my razors almost every single day! I'm not one that, just because I have a beard, I DONT SHAVE. That style looks TERRIBLE on me. My beard is always real tight, with clean edges, neck and cheeks. Ya learn somethin' new everyday Cameron. ;-) haha

      +Bill Ruber Thanks Bill! I have been using it ever since I completed the restoration! It's a joy to use. I am about to refurbish 2 more vintage gillettes. Beautiful razors. I intend to sell them. You're the first to know! haha

    you used a dremel and what was the tip you used? I am about to do the same for mine. I dropped it several times in the shower now the setting does not work it is locked at 1 setting and wont work 2-9. and the screw bottom is loose it extends.

    Those were made to last. The garbage gillette produces these days isn't. Nice restoration/cleanup. Cheers Mark.

    • @kyle_noseworthy
      @kyle_noseworthy  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +DutchKnifeGuy Thanks Mark! Agreed 100% ! Built to last. And if you think about it, so much cheaper. the new razors will cost you $20+ for a pack of 4-5 blades, that will only last a month or so...

    • @KillerM1979
      @KillerM1979 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Weiderfan Yeah and they are made to fail after using them for a while. It is the strip that deteriorates or wares down. Then the geometry of the blade changes. I use cheap throwaway ones that last way longer and are a fraction of the cost. Gillette is one big scam if you ask me. Ramble, ramble, ramble. Hahaha.

    • @kyle_noseworthy
      @kyle_noseworthy  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +DutchKnifeGuy haha the story is similar for many modern products though isn't it? I think so..

    • @KillerM1979
      @KillerM1979 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Weiderfan I agree. I hate that. I will pay for products from manufacturers that don't do that. They are still around. Usually more expensive but in the long run worth it.

      You can also go to Badger & Blade and look for a guy named Captain Murphy, who has also posted a few TH-cam videos. He's worked on a few of my Gillettes and does great work. He's also flexible on pricing, and can tailor the service to the razor's needs.

    Nice razor, I have a derby butterfly razor and use wilkinsons blades, that set up works pretty good for me. You can get the blades at Lawtons drugs. Let me know if you like them if you get a chance to pick some up.

      Hey, thanks so much for watching Glenn! Its just a generic polishing paste. First a coarser cleaning compound, and then a finer polishing paste!

      I use plastic polish, less harsh than metal polish with less chance you’ll buff through the original plating.
