i ride street bikes & recently bought a new pitbike, tonite after work i was ripping around the neighborhood and found this hill that launches into a parking lot. My ass smacked the gas tank landing so hard lmfao i did not squeeze the bike, and i was sitting down😂 Definitely need to dial in the pitter skills. Never have had so much fun in 20 minutes. Like it’s just a blast. they go anywhere, cops don’t fuck with them as much as my R1 but other than that i am hyped to be on dirt.
I normally squeeze the bike with my shins are knees then lower third gear, top of second gear and keep consistent throttle and lean back on the bike. A little bit first time ever jumping and that’s what I learnt.
It's been a week since I fractured my collarbone trying to jump something I had no business being on. I accidentally throttled too much on the jump face and whiskey throttled when I landed. Shit sucked.
Keep it in gear and give it some throttle. Landing on the throttle helps the suspension. It's especially advisable to throttle if you are landing long, short, or sideways. I know it sounds counterintuitive, but it really works.
Nice! But uh i kinda need to learn how to switch gear and stuff😂( i havnt rode in like two years and i didnt ride without my dad on the back guiding me two years ago)
Depends on a few things. But if the jump off the face is good and you’re level you can let off the throttle. On a 2t. Don’t do that on a most 4t. You use throttle and rear brake in the air to either raise or lower the front.
i feel like every time i ride and i try this way i always jump weird or wrong and tense up in the air. usually i do what feel comfortable like obviously i stay centered on the bike but i barely even squeeze my bike only a little and i usually jump pretty good.
its because the balls of ur feet are on the pegs and dropping ur ankle helps you absorb the impact better through your knees and ankles instead of just hitting your back straight
its really hard for me to keep my knees back while jumping i formed a bad habbit of my knees dropping forward and almost sitting down in the air when i come off a take off im getting the hang of it now but it took me awhile to knock the habbit and its still not fully gone from my riding and its been 4 years of consistantly riding each summer.
You’re explaining the proper way to do it. Slightly sitting. This guy’s explaining it all wrong lol harder to stay on the bike if your legs are fully extended. Bike won’t come up to you you’ll drift off and do a kiss of death basically
Dont lean forward like that far, you will go over the bars. Keep you weight centered and your arms and hips loose as the bike rotates up the face i would say.
You could slide out of position on the bike, and have a whiskey throttle incident. It can make your arms, neck, and upper body tired and sore, because they are doing way more work than normal. They will be doing work that your legs and lower body should be doing. You will have less control.
thanks for the greate advise i will try this when i get older and get my first dirt bike
Good idea
Save a dollar a day and in 1200-1500 days you will have one!

SQUEEZE THE BIKE! I learned this the hard way a few times, if you don’t your feet will come off the pegs and slam down when you land
You are right
Always keep a consistent throttle on the face of a jump, never let off or give it gas on the tip

Shit Happens! Fuck It Bro
I fractured my collar bone going off a jump without my engine on and went over the handlebars to bad I didn’t get it on video
@@dinodirt100 without ur engine on?? Bruh how, did you hit the kill switch on accident before jumping or?
@@crfx8408 nah we were messing around
Im curious if your back to riding? If so how are you holding up?
when landing is it better to pull the clutch or keep the bike in gear?

@@Eastsidegeorgiaboy also throttle while landing will keep the bike from bucking you
@@bobg1219 correct.
Always land on the throttle.
Thanks sis may help a lot. I just got a dirtbike and it’s been so long since I rode it’s been like 4 years
Nice! But uh i kinda need to learn how to switch gear and stuff😂( i havnt rode in like two years and i didnt ride without my dad on the back guiding me two years ago)
Btw I started jumping yesterday and once I jump it i all ways hit my front tire first once I land
Little rear brake on the way up will level it.
Rear bake will make you go forward even more. Sounds like you need to lean back a little more off the ramp
You have to keep steady throttle off the jump face. If you dont you land nose first
Move forwarding the bike. You have too much weight in the rear suspension. Stand neutral at takeoff. And keep the throttle steady.
I would add: Commit early, gain speed early, steady throttle off the jump. NO BLIPPING!
I took this advice and faceplanted over the bars
Good job
You thought you took his advice 🤣
Great videos bro
How do you keep from Endo tho? Your front tire touched first??
Your comping to wear I live for a Mx camp, idk when but I’ll see you this year 😂
How about know what gear and speed and acceleration off the jump face!
That all depends on the jump it self, and how big you want to jump. Start small and slow and work up with bigger, and faster jumps.
Important yes but basic control is the lesson he is showing. Keeping your body centered and hold the bike . All must be learned first.
Thanks
Thanks for teaching for me when I started it really helped
Now it makes sense . I wasn’t squeezing the bike. I was landing very awkwardly feet all over the place .
Thank u
How to control throttle and right hand in the right way?
My advice, start making small jumps getting used to it. Grip the bike with your knees steady on the throttle
Thx
Should i let go the throttle through the air and only hold it steady till both wheels in the air?
Depends on a few things. But if the jump off the face is good and you’re level you can let off the throttle. On a 2t. Don’t do that on a most 4t.

When can you show something when landing set night light off the throttle a little bit so I'm not spinning when I hit the ground
How you spos to throw that Oppo Whip if you're squeezing the bike?
Let off the throttle last second bein dumb came down on my nose nd got a concussion 😁 4th day ever riding experience 🤙🏻 listen to the advice…
😂😂😂 saving for 30 years when I start
Totally not me obliterating myself 1 minutes after watching this video
Oh btw when he means SQUEEZE THE LEGS, SQUEEZE YOUR FRICKIN LEGS
Nice
Are you supposed to use the clutch or brakes at all?
No brakes are only rarely useful when you are facing up a lot and landing with clutch and bucks you right off
How far to the end of the take off would you keep the throttle on to
All the way bro smooth throttle all the way and a bit of throttle when you’re landing, if you haven’t found out how yet
Can someone please explain the heel down part coz that seem like it'll get u an ankle injury
its because the balls of ur feet are on the pegs and dropping ur ankle helps you absorb the impact better through your knees and ankles instead of just hitting your back straight
Loose and goose = fast.
I still float off the bike slowly when I jump lmao. Need the muscle memory to build up.
This is my issue at the moment learning jumps, I feel like I'm squeezing as hard as I can but feet still coming off the pegs.
What about 👃 up and down? When you're in the air
No stay on the throttle going up the jump so You don’t go over the bars
Did this and i slid out😊
When I hit a jump my front goes down and scares the crap out of me, anyway I can stop it from the front going down in mid air when i attempt to jump ?
its really hard for me to keep my knees back while jumping i formed a bad habbit of my knees dropping forward and almost sitting down in the air when i come off a take off im getting the hang of it now but it took me awhile to knock the habbit and its still not fully gone from my riding and its been 4 years of consistantly riding each summer.

Its good to do if you are giving a decent amount of throttle to balance it out
@geraltofrivia4651 true, but safer not to accelerate off a jump face when you're learning. I guess
what wheel should land first?
Rear then front.
Depends on the landing face. But generally both as close at the same time as possible. Rear can be slightly first.
But i wanna whip like axell
Min or 30sec😂
Doesn’t that make you stiffen up though?
That's what she said
What will happen if u do not squeeze the bike when u land?
you’ll most definitely fly off the seat
Squeezing your legs will help keep control of the bike, and will make it so you don’t fly off it
@ToastbutTux ok thx, I've never jumped before I do trail riding
