Every time that the notification bell of yours signals me, I'm looking forward to find a quiet place within reasonable time to see what video you two have put together to be seen. Interesting pictures with just the right amount of unknown insight about the people photographed and a nice humorous tone between the two of you! Keep up the good work Thank you! I've already talked about how much I love this channel and the work you're doing. But another thing struck me just now: This is the channel with the nicest two people. Just genuine and lovely.
🎄HAPPY NEW YEAR! ❤ it’s always so lovely to listen to your wonderful stories!!! 🇨🇦 Here in Canada a few years ago, just before the film photography became cool again, I found a Hasselblad 500c paired with Carl Zeiss 80/2.8 just for … $425CAD at the thrift store! I regret to this day that I didn’t buy it. Currently I shoot either Fujifilm GFX50r digital medium format but it’s not nearly as good as a proper Medium Format frame. I believe the closest to MF quality (size, colour and image fidelity) is Hasselblad H5D with 60mpx digital back - it has the largest sensor size. And it is CCD sensor. Just an example Mona Kuhn shot her famous series with it. The skin tones, depth of field, colour rendition - everything looks very beautiful, just like MF film images.
Happy New Year!!! Thanks for the great support from you on the channel this year. Means a lot! And yes sounds like a great camera, going to check out Mona's series now :D
Great shots. I got the easy job of shooting them at a gig in Shepton Mallot in 2001. Whilst performing they shouted "who wants an autograph?", the fans went wild, then they charged £20 a go. Seemed a bit crass. Jason Mizell was murdered a year later in 2002. Brilliant music. Great video - keep them coming!
Excellent photos, as always. I enjoyed the view of the Hasselblad and the office. I'm proud to say we have the same Canon printer, so I must be doing something right (although the cartridges are ruinous).
Haha - its a great printer! We defo want to explore the office more there are so many negatives Harry hasnt seen in decades. Thanks for the comment as always :D
It would be interesting to know what the other photographer did and how her shots came out. Do you know who she is? Again, another great video (even though I detest bands like Run DMC 😄 - it's all about the image which is what makes these magical!)
Thanks you, I've no idea who she was but her lights were really strangely positioned! We are normally one of many snappers in a conveyor belt of photographers! 🙂
I don't think in our lifetime (I'm just a bit younger than you) we will be without film. I'm still shooting my Hasselblad 500CM the whole time using Ilford HP5. I've been shooting it since college. I think there is still such a demand it will take a very long time to disappear altogether. I just gave a Canon 35mm camera to a friend's son yesterday who has got into film photography.
I love film and hope this is the case for sure! I think harry is burnt after publishing a book entirely in film a year or two back and it being such an arduous effort haha
@fredandharryborden It certainly is an effort. My wife always gives out to me when I shoot with film knowing she'll never see the shots for about half a year!!

That is really kind, thanks a lot! We love making them, I'm glad it comes accross in the videos
I love the outdoor shots. The wall looks like a distant forest.
Thank you!
The Goldie images are amazing
Agreed
Will have to do a seperate video on Goldie at some point! Thanks for the comment :)

Very cheeky about the autographs haha! But yea great music for sure..
Thanks Kenny!
My previous canon was heavy. Double battery, grip, large lens. By the end of the day you knew it. However the photographs and art made it worthwhile
you are an actual living legend harry! love you and your work so much :)
@harryborden
Thanks for the comment! Dad will love it haha
That's very kind of you to say! 🙂
You are the best photo programme, thanks very much.
Thats very kind, thanks Ross!
Love the idea of looking at the contacts gives a real insight into the process - great vid
Fred calling a Hasselblad awkward and heavy made me genuinely laugh when I compare it to my large format stuff or even my RZ67.
Haha - Everything I know about photography is through Harry. After some googling I realise it can get much worse than the Hassalblad lol
bronica 💀
Bloody brilliant stuff. Looking forward to more. Thanks!
Much appreciated! Plenty more to come!

The best (Amateur) portraits I've taken have all been on Hasselblad V series cameras. Something about the lens.
Interesting video, as always.
Glad you enjoyed it
thanks for the insight
cheers bob!

Hello ! Fred may I ask what is a good beginner's camera to start out with ?
I'm not too sure, my dad would say the best camera is the one in your hand. He has had work in galleries taken with a phone camera!
But if you want suggestions, I'd imagine a digital camera would be best to start
Thank you ! @fredandharryborden
@fredandharryborden I would indeed! ;-)
