Snaps, this makes a lot of sense now. I got this surgery 21 years ago, when I was 15, and I felt like it didn't help with anything. I always felt like I couldn't breathe, couldn't sleep at night, I lost a lot of my sense of smell. All the symptoms that the person in the video mentioned I had. Depression, anxiety, even nightmares, you name it. Only thing that kind of helped me was doing meditation for several years, cause that is what allowed me to be able to relax a little. People would always tell me why I breathed so hard, and still do sometimes, but after years of living like this. I'm kinda used to it, though it always does feel like I can't breathe. Relaxing, doing yoga, and meditation does help though.

I didn’t know about this until today. In the late nineties I had turbinate reduction along with Septoplasty. Seems I have dealt with sinus related issues for over two decades and this morning I read about ENS before my ENT appointment. During my appointment the physician tells me that’s what I have. Great! I have it for over twenty years and had no clue! I just though my left side wasn’t done very well and it always my right was decent. Come to find out my turbinates were done too well. Nothing like having wide open passages with the feeling you aren’t breathing very well. It can be miserable at times. Thanks for the video and I share your pain.

Having problems sleeping because my nose closes up on me started 3 years ago. Turbinates enlarged, read up on it, looking for help. Saw an ENT he said deviated septum and swollen turbinates and he could do surgery. He said healing take a couple days, after reading up on nose surgery knew it was not that easy. Have decided spray my nose put a nose strip on it and hope for the best. So sorry for all the people who had surgery and the ENT DRS weren't honest to tell them what might happen. Susan

I had a Septoplasty over a year ago. Whilst anaesthetised, and without consent, the surgeon performed a Turbinoplasty to one side of my nose. This has caused ENS on one side. Symptoms and disabilities are exactly the same but at least I have one clear side, producing 50% lung capacity, as the affected side is constantly blocked. Were it not for the other sufferers from this condition posting on here, I would not have an explanation as to what had happened to me, as surgeons in the UK will not admit this condition exists and “cover” for each other’s work. It was only by recently seeking a second opinion that I was told I’d had Turbinate surgery - which explained everything. Don’t believe it when the professionals say it’s rare - it’s not. Out of three people I’ve met who’ve also had nose surgery, two have it.

@@jawadahmed.official Its a case by case basis. If a Ent or rhinologist is trying to push for a surgery when your symptoms can be treated naturally, then this is a huge warning sign. The issue with these turbinate surgeries is that they are over routinely performed and should only be done if someones life depended on it, which frankly is not the case. We are conditioned to think " Dr. knows best" when in reality those days have faded with corruption, greed, and quotas needing to be met in the medical system.

@Weedymad I had several injections done into my mangled turbinates. The plasma injections were not bad, but One blew out the side of my Remaining turbinate on one side which was a blessing because it increased the size and it grew back better. But the last fat injection I got, went too deep in my cheek and left me with debilitating headaches for about a year. So I quit the injections. I have issues still with dry weather and cold weather. But my body has mildly adjusted to the lack of turbinates as my lungs are not on fire anymore from the air, but I still have a huge lack of feeling in my nose and can't feel my breathing in my sinuses. I have to cover my nose in cold weather and constantly moisten my sinuses in dry weather.

    • @crystalgr2318
      @crystalgr2318 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@Weedymad I've been there at my witts end thinking I can't go on or live with my condition because I was having panic attacks and feeling like I was drowning or unable to breathe. I also suffer from hypothyroidism which is accompanied by severe anxiety if my medication is the slightest bit off. I had horrible anxiety after my original surgery because of the damage it did. I started wearing an n95 mask to just restrict and warm the air. I also bought sinus sprays, a personal steam humidifier to use several times a day because the warm heavy air helps. I would also spend a lot of time in a steamy shower several times a day. I honestly used alcohol and tramadol to get through my rough times because Dr's didn't want to listen.
Time is what makes it better, your body needs time to adjust, I did 3 blood cell injections and 2 fat injections over a period of 6 months. It's not instant results, so you have to stick it out and get medication or what you need to help you through.
I understand your desperation, but it will get better. Contact Dr Das. His office is fantastic. Not many Dr's will treat this condition or understand it. But he is great. The fat wasn't great for me, the blood cell only was better, but everyone is different. Don't give up. It takes time to improve.

@Weedymad also, I did other random things like shoving moistened cotton pieces in my nose leaving just enough room to breathe through. I would use a qtip and shove it as far up my nose as I could rubbing it all around the sides to irritate them to produce mucus. I mean like the entire length of the qtip barely enough hanging out to hold with my fingers.
I bought a tivic health ClearUp device, it shocks and vibrates the nerves in your face/sinuses, I still use it when I have a cold/sinus infection or headache.

@@RohitKumar-tu3hb I did 3 prp and 2 fat injections. My turbinates are definitely slightly bigger than they were after surgery, but the results are minimal, maybe 5% is the one side that didn't get blown out and about 10% in the other, but with the dr removing 80% of my lower turbinates I'll take any improvement. The buggest difference i got was when the dr over injected the prp solution and it literally exploded out the side of my turbinate but when that healed, it was definitely bigger than before.
It did cost me 10k out of pocket for everything including 5 flights to Ohio since it's considered experimental surgery and my insurance refused to cover it. I think mostly time helped too. It took my body over a year to really adjust to the changes from the surgery. I honestly wish I could get a couple more prp injections in my one side still, but im scared to after my last fat injection left me with debilitating headaches because it went too deep in my face and I'm really sensitive to pressure in my sinuses and face.

try to find out a possible solution with a good cosmetic surgeon. If they perform a bilateral osteotomy of the nasal bones and the nasal dorsum is lowered a little, the turbinates will automatically be close to the septum since as they arise from the walls of the nasal bones, as they narrow, the nasal cavity becomes smaller. That way you should improve the air pressure and feel the flow. At the same time, the humidity should improve a little.

Instead of looking at your biased misinformation, I suggest you research Dr.s such as Yong Ju Jang and many others who understand how serious Ens is.
To conclude, I have met several honest ENTs and facial plastic surgeons who have confessed that they do not perform turbinate surgeries due to the lack of real scientific backing, followed by the irreversible complications that can occur.

@@user-ef3ns8io5u There is no prove that the surgery is the etiology for the ENS, and that’s a scientific fact. That’s the scientific fact whether you like it or not.
There are patients who had received more complex surgical procedures for nasal tumors or pituitary diseases and they do not develop ENS, moreover when we compare the ENS patients with other patients in whom we performed turbinoplasty with or without septoplasthy the anatomical outcomes are similar, but the patient who develop ENS with normal anatomy all have mental health comorbilities and they should receive appropriate treatment by a Mental Health specialist.

@@juandabid26 This will be the last reply from me as it's clear where you stand. Not once have you mentioned a reputable publication. If you happen to do so I wouldn't be surprised if you chose one that fits your narrow minded narrative. I truly hope you can be evaluated as there are some characters like yourself on TH-cam that take pleasure in harrasing people with severe health problems.
The Ens community does not need your validation as we know what our truth is. Fortunately we have the backing of REAL Dr.s/researchers who keep their hippocratic oath and take the time to learn the truth about Ens. You commenting on this video again shows not only your arrogance but your lack of understanding to a health condition you would never personally understand unless it were to happen to you.
I also would highly recommend you reread what the scientific method is about as you skipped the first step.
May you also find a sensible colleague, friend, loved one who can inspire you to do better as a human being. Otherwise, I hope you or any of your loved ones never have to expirence being gaslighted and left in indescribable suffering without any help to alleviate a damaged organ.

Rhinitus of recumbancy. Is were your turbinates pinch off your air when you sleep. I would rather have ens than stop breathing in my sleep. Ens is rare.rhinitus of recumbancy is more common. Get a rf turbinate reduction. Ens is not a reason to not get nasal surgery.

Wrong. ENS is a devastating outcome. It not only renders a patient unable to warm/humidify inspired air, it can cause constant and unremitting suffocation. That means you stop breathing altogether. That’s what happened to me. I am an ENS survivor. Please do not speak for us.

Shut up you sound like a idiot. Not breathing is much worse than having iritated sinuses. Ens survivor? Give me a break.

This guy is a joke. Has no idea what he's talking about. Neither someone who suffers from it. How strange people are these days to speak on topics they do not even experience.

Clown.. You have no idea what you are talking about. Weak is what you are trolling videos of people who have a devastating surgery caused condition. You wouldn't last a minute with this condition.
