Thanks so much for this. Would love to see a video going over the the hardwired installation
Just purchased the A800S with the rear camera and HW kit last night after watching a few reviews like yours. Thank you.
Right on! I hope you dig it!
@@SomeGadgetGuy will find out in a week or so.
awesome video like always
agreed on the standardize this thing to newer car because this help so much whenever anything happens. it could be ourselves, it could be other person that cought into accident in front of us. in my country, 70mai is going head to head with another brand DDPAI which has similar specs, except it using super capasitor instead of lithium ion battery. from my perspective, i think super capasitor is better with our weather here, which is sun everyday except when its rainy. anyway, i wish to see your method to hotwire this dashcam into the car.
Thanks for showing these off. I'd like to see a video hooking it up via the fuse box as well.
already start to implement this dash cam for our newer car. most user will opt for freebies like the dash cam nowadays. I use A800S myself. quite good on my old daily car. it serve me weel for 2 years already. another good brand will be DDPAI. we'll we asian have more option. but these 2 70mai and ddpai are great.
I'm considering buy the A800S, but have a few questions I'm having difficulty getting answers to. (1) Does this camera shoot at 30 fps, or 60 fps? (2) What is the maximum size of SD Card that the camera will accommodate? 128Gb seems adequate, but can it take larger? (3) Your the only reviewer that I've heard that has referred to the Hardware Wiring Kit as a "Fuse Kit". Does the hard-wire cable contain a fuse, so that the cable does not have to be wired to the fuse panel and instead can be wired directly to a 12 VDC power source? Or...does the box on the cable contain a secondary battery to power the camera when the vehicle is not running?
I need answers to these questions, before pulling the trigger, particularly because the A800S is over $300 dollars in Canada, with the hard-wire kit and an SD Card.
Which one is better based on your experience? DDPAI z5 or 70mai A800s?
Can the cam withstand high temperatures? Like 40C - 45C
SomeGreasemonkeyGuy is a video that I am interested in.
I do kinda miss doing my own oil changes and brake jobs...
Thx fir a great video! Is it possible to purchase in Europe? I live in Sweden
possible to retrieve videos from cam when cam is in car, car is off, and cam is in wifi range ?
Hello, I have an A500. The night view is good, but the day view shows the colors as unrealistic and a bit yellow. How is the A800? Is it worth buying? Thank you.
Well i don't know how but ya got me 👍
Using this front and rear combo. It's reliable and cheap. The car charger broke randomly one day, fortunately the in-kit cable ends in a standard usb-a, so i can just swap out the charger with a generic one.
My one complaint is the sensitivity of the automatic emergency recording. A mild bump on the road is enough to trigger it on medium setting and it gets annoying. Had to turn it back down to lowest.
Same. Turned it to the lowest, and our roads out here still trigger it.
very good tip. I didn't buy the Dash cam. I intend to buy the A800s. I need to be aware of this sensitivity because not all roads here in Brazil are good. Excellent video. Congratulations.
Just out of curiosity, is it possible to use the dash cam when driving while just connecting it on a powerbank? Like a 10000mah powerbank? I've blown a fuse when I was pushing and turning the charger of my dashcam on the 12V socket. 😅
Of course. That's how I set these up👍
Can I fix reverse camera to the display
The first thing I do when I get a new (to me) vehicle is to put in at least a front dash cam. People who drive for ride sharing services might want to look into the ones that front and cabin facing setups, so you can easily claim the cleaning bill when someone chunders in your back seat.
💯
Which microphone are you using. The sound is really clear. Thanks.
Most of my videos I use a RODE Wireless Go ii th-cam.com/video/IfKDlt1b9N8/w-d-xo.html
I am trying to find out how to enable simultaneous recording with both front and back camera with 70mai A800s.
Haven’t found any setting yet on camera itself. May be I am missing something or simultaneous recording isn’t possible with it.
Did you fix it?
@@randomusername7096 yes, hard reset and formatted the memory card seems to have fixed it. Sorry, forgot to confirm
@@SGA01 Great, I saw someplace else that feature wasn't there on launch and that it was added later on through a software update. I'm thinking of buying it, looks great for the price.
Ahhh, I didn't know 70mai is also in the USA. I thought it's just mainly an Asian thingy.
70mai is a Xaomi Brand so not surprisingly it's making its way into more Markets
How would you compare this to the DDPAI you reviewed in March?
Really close. I like the video quality and the fuse kit on the ddpai a little better. I like the cable routing and the app on the 70mai better.
I use two VIOFO A119, one front facing, the other rear facing as two A119 cams out perform their A129 duo package.
It's been working great except for having to stretch and reach into the back of my F-150 when I'm alerted to perform the monthly maintenance format of the MicroSD card.
I'm going to look into comparisons and see if the 70mai may be worth the upgrade.
Why some seller selling 70mai dashcam set(front&rear) either in 1 same box or in seperate box? Any different accessories in it?
Not that I know of? The kit I got was sold as one piece, but it came in two separate packages.
Can you switch from front to rear camera and use it as a help for parking bacwards? And is this feature park assistant or that means something else?
camera have some delay, isn't much safety back parking trought camera, just see before parking, then is better use mirrors.
@@jaroslavjira7861 i already bought it and installed. It is helpful even though the display is so small. The main issue, the view behind is so bad, because of the shape of the car. Now with this camera it has improved.
@@miljanrisimic6677Hello, does this camera have parking lines? Does it detect the steering wheel when you turn it? I don't know which camera to buy or which display to buy.
@@xxxjeferXdxxxx no parking lines. For me it is just fine because i use it just to see how far it is to the front bumper of the car behind me.
I’ve been watching videos on dash cams for the past 2 days. Started looking at videos from 3 years ago too. 🤦🏽♂️ tons of options out there but the simplicity of this dash cam and it’s video quality are what sold me on it. I have a VAVA dash cam. Started out working good. But within 2-3 years it won’t connect anymore. It was annoying cause I had to take the memory card out every time and reformat it to delete the videos. The loop feature didn’t work and my 128gb card would be filled with a few days of casual driving. Very time consuming and annoying. The biggest reason I ordered this dash cam is because the UI matters significantly other than the video quality. If you can’t connect to the dash cam when the car turns on the dash cam is useless. And I hope 70mai has support for these cams for a long time because VAVA is hard to get support for which is why I’m here. But this dash cam is pretty impressive. Just ordered the 4K ultra hd cam. Sad story that led me here. I wasn’t in an accident. But a few days ago a car infront of me wasn’t paying attention and rolled into the car infront of him. He backed up a little and drove off. A hit n run. I pulled over because I had my dash cam and told the other driver who pulled over that I may have footage of the whole thing and his license plate. Sadly. The dash cam wasn’t even connected and I was no help at all. Anyway if you read this all the way I’m sorry for being a keyboard warrior but just wanted to share some thoughts I had and why I chose this dash cam vs others around the same price. This one has good reviews just like others but it seems like this one is built really well and the UI might actually work. Thanks for the review man this review nailed it for me to get this cam!
Hey Juan!! Shawn Michael Howard here...i bought this dashcam...i dont understand how to mount the rear camera. Could you help me understand?
Hey Shawn! What's messing you up?
B-Roll shot on a Xiaomi 13 Ultra?
LOL YUP!
can it use as GPS?
It will display the latitude and longitude degrees on the screen at all times. No other guidance functions.
I made it 😍 🤗
I bought this product recently . It is waste of money. It is not able to capture the number plate of vehicles just in front of my car.
Internal battery? Nope. Wish it was a capacitor. Direct sunlight/heat is gonna kill that thing.
The ADAS on both cameras is completely useless and nearly everyone ends up turning then off as they get very irritating very fast.
I'm looking for ADAS as a main feature. You saved me from buying this
i wouldn’t buy an electric car. when that battery goes bad and needs replacement its around $20k for a replacement. just crazy.
EV batteries have a good warranty and a good reputation for longevity, probably exceeding the life of most combustion engines. Oh well
not what i’ve been hearing. some people having teslas that are worth $20k and the battery goes bad and its $20k for a replacement. i’m hearing water tight seals go bad allowing water inside making a mess of the battery.@@michaelcromer1564
Expensive and video at night is not good 5:20 see for yourself.
Don't buy this. Many users have issues with the build in GPS which doesn't work in many cases ... There is no fix ... Wast of money ...
HONDA IS COMINGUP WITH DASCAM installation in tie-up with PHILIPS, (GOSure-GS3201) for 12k, any idea if its better than 70mai A500S ??
