Dragging the Boat Down the Clarence River! | 5 day midsummer walk with the boat

- Late February, Tasman and his sister venture down the clarence river for a wee adventure!
We get more, well less than we bargained for with low summer water flow, hence ALL the rocks were hit, boat started to sink, and lots of "rapids" were walked. But it was still a great time!

This guy is adorable, and is sister. So unpretentious and serious adventure chops. Btw, Ocean Boats owe him a repair because I have gone shopping at their site and am thinking of buying a boat just because of these vids. On the other hand they seem to make great boats at a great price so might be running a lean operation.

Excellent fun on the river, and well recorded as usual. Thanks a lot for the laughs. We're just back from doing a lot of very shallow West coast rivers in our inflatable jet boat, and it would do all those rapids you walked with ease. But quite a bit bigger than your boat, and really is a two person size, to load/unload and manoeuvre. Keep doin what you're doing!

Thanks! I grew up hunting and fishing remote in the Marlborough Sounds, and got this very boat as a "personal development" gift from my parents at 16. Adventures grew from there but only started hunting public land 4 years ago, and certainly ramping up the bigger boating trips in these last 3 years!
Pro tip upgrade the jandals to crocs all terrain you wont look back😂

OceanNZ Inflatables, out of business since 2020, and just a cheap Chinese product but she goes really hard 😂 $1400 back in 2015 if I recall correctly

Thanks, it sure was! Not sure which rod you're referring to, but I'm sure it would've been a charging cable, no signal except at the start and end
How'd you find that stoney creek dry bag?
They are brilliant mate!! I run one on my adventure bike for my clothing, medication and pita breads...

Not super impressed to be honest, only a few years old and already popping a few seams, has never been particularly bottom-of-the-boat waterproof either, a bit of water seems to get in around the opening with a bit of soaking... recommend using Thick plastic bags inside it as well 😂
Yeah agreed I've got one of those bags it tend's to hold more sea water than it keeps out. 😢 I certainly don't trust it.
