As a Canadian who pretty much just flies WestJet (whose measurements are slightly smaller than Air Canada's but aren't as strict about enforcing them), I so appreciate you finding these smaller carryons. Actually, it was your recommendation to me on your last Beis review that got me checking out the Heys website -- I couldn't believe the selection of carryons on their site that met my impossible to find criteria: (less than 7 pounds, expandable, spinner wheels, tsa lock, side handle). I ended up getting the paralite in lilac, but I do love the monochromatic look of these Earth tones.. beautiful!

I actually bought two of these (umber and atmosphere) when I saw your Airlight review. Truly went to the website to order that one when the hubs and I stumbled across the Earth Tone collection. Love the versatility of the expansion! I just want to say that when EXPANDED it’s 45L. When NOT expanded Heys told me it is 36.7L… just wanted to throw that out there - I literally emailed this question last week 😂 so love that you are reviewing this collection!! (Not trying to be snarky giving that info- just didn’t want someone to be upset about stated differences). Countdown for Paris trip is 30 days so we FINALLY get to use it!!! Can’t wait!! I bought my 13 yr old the yellow in the Pastel Collection with matching packing cubes using your code for all of course!! Thank you for all your great reviews! I have never purchased luggage based on colour but considering the adverts that are coming out before the holiday season it looks like that's the big selling point this year (as always).
Most of my expedition convertible duffels come in crazy colors and I can see them from a distance but I did once purchase a Heys bag and the quality was great considering the price point. It is deep purple and I still refer to it as "monster" due to it's durability, as in "I have to pack monster" for this trip!
I can't believe I've never seen a bag of this style with the vertical ridges which are not just smarter for strength but very attractive and would hide stuffs. I also like the design of the compression flaps, something that is usually only seen in the more expensive brands. Much better than just simple bands.
Another great review Lauren! Can't wait to see your vlog as to why you needed to make changes on your European trip. As I worked in European destination management for years I like hearing why people needed to change (or hopefully, WHY you decided to change), perhaps to add more time?!? Too many tourists try to see "10 countries in 10 days" and you really need more time to walk around the cities and explore the daily life of the culture, not just take photos at the tourist spots!

The trip I had booked was actually to Asia with a tour, and it was turning shady with visas and flights, where we all cancelled and booked other stuff.
Finally bought cabinmax vintage postcard 30l backpack and will try it as main carry on 0.5 kg plus a personal item daypack 0.2 kg see what happens, at least noone will walk off with it😂 when packed can always revert to hybrid carry on if necessary just maybe too heavy. Love how you test bags at airport.❤
Just went and bought this! I’ve been looking around for a hard shell carry-on and once I saw the inside pockets and compression straps it got me. Plus it was on sale! So excited for it to come in the mail.
I personally like to use expandable zippers like a compression cube. Zip it up expanded then sit on it and zip it up again 😂

I have a heys set..but this is beautiful...responsive company when we had a wheel problem late in the year bags life..they sent replacement...no problem ❤ good bags but they older ones were heavier..and limited packing space...new times. newer better bags .however good quality 👌
Lauren, now that you have so many pieces of luggage, I’m curious: how do you choose what suitcase to bring with you when you travel? Do you tend to bring something you’re planning to review or do you have a few tried and true favorites that you use most of the time?
A lot of it depends on the trip duration and the airlines. All of my trips are international, so I always have to bring one under 22 x 14 x 9, and sometimes lightweight. It also depends on what I want to film while I’m there! This, the Airlite, and my two favorite Monos bags are my go tos.
I have the leopard carry on and 26” heys hardshell luggage.

Lauren, can you weigh the bags after they are packed? I'm traveling to Europe for 3weeks with just a carry on and I'm flying on Lufthansa. They have weight restrictions, about 17 pounds. Thanks! P.S. I love your videos!
I don’t like to show what my bags weigh when I demo them because I’m filling them up with a bunch of random stuff, and it’s not what I would actually pack, it’s to show what it can fit as the maximum.
To be honest, Lufthansa has never weighed me and I fly them often. Of my 8 years of consistent travel every 2 months, I’ve only been weighed twice.

I’m traveling with both right now (my friend is using the airlite and I’m using the earth tones) the biggest difference (to me) is the compression part. Mine is a little thicker. Other than that, I don’t see a major difference.
Am I doing the most if I say I wanna get this one too??? Do I need another carryon?? (*this video says yes! LOL)

Hi, Lauren. Is this luggage made of 100% polycarbonate shell and just as durable and sturdy like monos, beis and away? There’s not much reviews on this collection except for yours and another reviewer. I really like that it’s expandable and reasonably priced. I’ve already decided on the monos but since I need to buy two carry ons, I’m thinking of getting this one and the monos, instead of just monos. Thanks!

Do you find the placement of the wheels makes them more able to break or makes the bag tippy? Many of the other brands you showcase seem to have more inset wheels thnx
I haven’t found any weirdness with their wheels at all. They roll perfectly and I’ve traveled with this model 3 times.

When it comes to those two, it comes down to wanting compression or not. Monos has compression pads to help pack more, and heys doesn’t, but is cheaper.
Is it better than Heys Cruze?
