    If you are going to travel internationally again, email yourself a copy of your important docs and put them in a separate file in your inbox. If your passport/important docs and phone and laptop get stolen you can still access them (and also have someone at home with an electronic copy as well). And for the steamer you do need a converter for the voltage as I was looking into this specific steamer but our voltage is 240w.

    • @CookieDr007
      @CookieDr007 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It also needs to be dual voltage which this isn't, you can maybe get away with a converter on low wattage stuff but it's a risk and anything that heats up like that requires a ton of power ie blow dryers, flat irons etc and so this will totally fry Euro fuses 🤷‍♀️ had a friend blow out half a hotel using her chi flat iron with just a converter 🤦‍♀️

    My dear, during my travelling years, I learned the lesson the hard way. 🙏🏻God forbid it🙏🏻 but if the company looses your suitcase or another passenger grabs it first by mistake on the conveyor belt, the more neutral the higher probability. A lovely flight attendant gave me the best advice after meeting each other a few times: "You can be as gothic as you want but a black suitcase is a NO. Paint the grooves with acrylics in different colours". Aesthetically unpleasant? Yes🤦🏻‍♀️ The easiest to recognize and to look for when you call to ask if the luggage has finally arrived? YES💁🏻‍♀️ What a lovely relaxing video. Pure peace of mind. Thank you. 🧛🏻‍♀️🖤

      I agree. I have been a flight attendant for 16 years. Our bags are uniform issue black travelpro but we put ribbons, and tags all over to make them look different.

      @@chidenisee Awee 😍. Once, we splitted in Frankfurt and 14 days later we found each other again in the middle of the airport while we had spended these two weeks in the antipodes🥹😍. Of course, the crew stopped a few seconds waiting for us to greet & run😅 and, ta-daaah!! SHE GIFTED ME WITH THE CUTEST STICKER EVER! It was a japanese gothic lolita hamster wich, needless to say, I never put in my suitcase. It' s on my vanity 🧛🏻‍♀️🖤 Nostalgic moment, sorry. After more than 12 years travelling alone I have endless lovely memories and anecdotes with "The Cloud Crew" 😉

      Yes but definitely do buy a black suitcase but coloured cases do look aesthetic but they’re also so much more likely to be stolen. So black case with either coloured bands or ribbons on handles etc

      I just spent 2 months in Central America (including several weeks in Guatemala)! Although I was backpacking, what I learned from my experience was to pack less than I thought I needed. Initially I packed so many different outfits and really only ended up wearing the same 3-5 things every day. You can get all of your basic necessities there (toothpaste, deodorant, laundry detergent, etc). It’s so easy to overpack and then be stuck with all of the stuff you brought that you don’t use. When I go back in October, I’m going to prioritize organizing and packing less. (: hopefully that helps a little bit!

    Former flight attendant here, and I have one recommendation for you to take the weight off your neck/shoulders. Grab yourself a "rolling briefcase" style bag. It's the one you see all flight attendants with. It's perfect to fit what you need, but you can roll it.

    • @taylorwynn
      @taylorwynn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Ya that’s what I was referring to at the end with the small roll on + backpack to put on top, but the issue is then I have 2 rolling bags which I was hoping to avoid (and have to put it in the overhead)

    You can when a TH-camr has been around on here for a while ahah, the excessive brushes give it away etc. We probably use 2 eye brushes max now, maybe a contour/blush brush and then one for powder & beauty blender for foundation. Unless you’re an MUA for others, no need for the crazy amount of brushes lol.

    Whenever my husband & I travel (by plane) we usually each do a medium sized suitcase that we check-in & then divide the carry-on between us. We both have meds & medical devices (he is diabetic & uses a cpap, I bring mobility aids) & I just don't trust the airlines with that. So, I usually have a small duffel with toiletries & meds & he has a small wheeled carry-on suitcase for all the electronics including laptop, tablet, phones, etc plus his cpap. Needing to travel with medical equipment is always a challege, especially mobility aids as the PSA doesn't seem to understand that no, I cannot stand w/o aid with my arms/legs spread in a scanner/metal detector, that's why I have a cane and/or wheeled walker in the first place.I have a travel cane that folds down & can be fit into a purse or tote easily--it's great. I personally hate flying sooooooooo much....the airport has got to be second only to the hospital ER for stress & anxiety.

    I am a super-minimalist when I pack for travel. Don’t laugh, but the Rick Steves packing lectures really helped me commit to traveling carry-on only. Especially if you want to be *very* mobile at your destination. I have my makeup routine down to like 4 items 😅 But I make up for it by being picky about my skincare… the 3oz TSA limits also have me getting *real* creative.

I'm so amazed that your luggage has never not made it to your destination. A friend of mine went to Germany, Austria and Italy recently and her bag didn't make it on the flight she was switched to when hers was canceled. She was gone 2 weeks. She and her luggage were reunited 3 days after she returned home 😳 She learned to pack more clothes and ALL of her meds in her carry-on after that. Totally feel ya on the carry on/check bag/personal item conundrum of carrying stuff vs carrying too much stuff + having a hand to wheel luggage. Wrestling w/ a tote isn't my fav...to keep the strap on I'll put the tote on my shoulder first, then the back pack, which keeps the tote straps from sliding off. Lately, I've been doing a backpack & a personal item w/ a cross body strap...regardless, it all gets heavy after a while. I'm enjoying watching you pare down the items you're traveling with...I've learned that continuous travel is a good motivator for that particular task. I'm heading to the panhandle in a week and a half (barring tropical storms/hurricanes), Asheville/Blue Ridge is always on the docket for fall time in Oct, & probably to south FL for work in Dec... This would probably be a good time to organize my own luggage...thanks for the reminder, T. See ya next time!

    TWO TIPS from someone who used to travel a lot for work...and also have firsthand knowledge of horror stories with checking bags. KEEP YOUR VALUABLE ITEMS IN YOUR CARRY ON. Jewelry, high end makeup, etc. I have had friends have heirloom jewelry stolen from their suitcases after checking their bags. Sure, the items were insured but it wll never replace the sentimental value. Another thing I learned from a friend who uses nothing but high end and luxury makeup amd beauty products...if you're able to remove the product from the branded component, put it in a generic magnetic palette or generic bottle/jar so no one knows what you have. She's had makeup stolen from her checked luggage AND her hotel rooms. I was AMAZED that people would steal used makeup. But...there it is.

    I got that adidas bag as soon as you posted it on IG because all I've carried for the last year is a cross body. It still looks brand new. I use it everyday it's amazing

    So I don’t love Calpak suitcases, but their organization bags are so good. I love their clear cosmetic cases, pouches, and I recently ordered the luka belt bag and used it with my carry on and it held all my essentials and made traveling so much easier.

    I do a medium 26” with a hard side under seat 17” and personal item (Narmada lane bento or purse). Having the rolling under seat means no carrying a bag as you always have wheels. But then you have to roll 2 once you pick up your luggage. I still prefer this way

    I can't recommend the 4Monster travel/backpacking towels enough! They're fantastic! I have two: the XL and XXL. Which size I take depends on what I'll be doing. I use them as a yoga mat in addition to a towel and blanket. I usually keep it in my carry on for international trips because it's great for an extra layer on the plane. It went with me on my grand tour of the Pacific (Japan, Guam, Hawaii) earlier this year, and it came in so handy.

    I travel with a flat bag goes around my waist, it is ment for running - so it is comfortable and doesn't cause you to sweat. I don't have to worry about losing my passport, tickets, spare cash; or even just absent mindedly putting them in a random pocket.
    I want to find a sustainable backpack for everday use including shopping.
    Ironically I may be the only person who doesn't carry around electronics.

    Love this. Would love to see how you pack for a short trip/weekend. If you Hotel take the free soap/shampoo/sanitizer/lotion bottles home. Housekeeping throw them away with each guest. I use for trips then reuse the empty bottles. Saves money

    Ok so I travel like crazy and have about 8 Dagne Dover bags. This carryall is awesome BUT the diaper bag backpack is the BEST backpack ever. I stopped using my carryall for travel and now only use the back pack with a small carry on and then my checked bag. The owner of DD let me in on the diaper bag backpack. It's so comfy and fits so much as well as laptops and tablets. Hope that helps!

    I always use packing cubes, but I take a couple of space bags for dirty clothes. And then I have room for the stuff I buy on vacation to fit in my suitcase! 🙌😂
