The occupants of the car wouldn’t be much better off, 400 pound bike plus a 150+ pound dude is still 550 pounds traveling at 170+ mph, it would hit with the kinetic energy of a full sized car

Except most deer don't move around a lot during the day except during the rut. The chances of a deer running out in front of you in the middle of the day as you're doing a speed run is about the same as your chances of winning the lottery... except a death lottery because you don't walk away from that one lol.
My 2006 Cbr600rr made it to 163. My speedo said i hit 175, but my gps said different. People act like it's impossible to hit 160+ on a 600, but if you were as light as i was at 18, it's definitely possible. I did it without a doubt.
I own a 05 r6 and it has been 179 but it has been fully built pistons head work power commander with custom tune and alot more but no 01 is doing 170 period
2001 R6 is not gonna hit 170, unless it fell out of a plane. But a skilled rider on a 2007 R6, can draft up behind 1000cc , till about 140 mph. I couldn't shake that R6 😭

Got my 2009 zx6r to a legit 168 on gps. Had taller than stock gearing on it though. It was right at peak power at 14,000 rpm.
