Traxxas TRX4M Battery Connector Workaround!

- We added a new Traxxas trx4m to our fleet! The stock battery and charger are pretty nice but only provide basic charge functionality with no option to charge the battery to a proper storage voltage. In this video I create an adapter to charge the TRX4M battery on a more capable charger.

I watched this video hoping you were going to show us how to make the adapter for the TRX4M battery. But all this video showed is the adapter completed.
You're right, While filming the video I felt as though I covered enough information on the adapter I created. Watching it back I can see I've failed to go into enough detail regarding the wiring of the adapter. If you're interested I could do a follow up just focusing on the adapter/charger wiring?
@@havikhobbies Please know I do appreciate your video. I am going to watch it again. Maybe I just missed something while watching. If you do make a video showing the adapter wiring, I am sure there will be a lot of appreciative viewers including myself. Traxxas keeps throwing all these proprietary connectors on all their models forcing people to buy their batteries and that sucks. I saw one video where a guy tested the voltage on each cell of a TRX4M battery after charging it with the included charger and the cells weren't balanced.
@@goochma I think Traxxas places a lot of value in making sure the experience for newcomers to the hobby is simple and enjoyable. I would also prefer more conventional battery connectors!

Traxxas is so busy policing the industry so I can only use their brand of batteries in the TRX4M I cant even use my Traxxas EZ peak charger on there stupid proprietary trx4m batteries… guess I’m not gonna buy the TRX4M
Also not going to buy it because there batteries are overpriced. But the length of effort they went into on the proprietary job on the car is a complete turn off regardless
I can charge the batteries for my mini T 2.0 with the traxxas charger making a simple adapter though… but I can’t use that battery in the TRX4M and I can’t use the TRX4M battery in my Mini T
Yeah I needed to be able to charge the TRX4M Battery on something that allowed my to put the battery in storage mode, so this little adapter was the result! Thanks for your comment!
