    That’s a great idea! No matter how “safe” traxxas makes their system we will find a way around them!

    Thank you sir!!! I just did mine!! I will make a simple TRX to balance cable as well, to be able to see the voltage on the field. Again, great video!!!!!

    Its best to use the male connector end on the ST-60 connector when soldering wires onto them. It keeps the terminals from melting into the plastic and keeps them aligned and works as a heat sink. The risk of the terminal becoming misaligned is greater without the other connector. Simple.

      Thats a good idea I've had to toss out connectors I've messed up before thanks 👍

    Nice video! Tip: You can stretch heat shrink a little with needle nose pliers so that it will fit over the plugs.

    • @OverBudgetRC
      @OverBudgetRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you I've done that before but I don't think this piece would stretch enough for that connector but thank you for the tip.

      Thank you it's very easy to do as long as you know how to solder it's not hard at all. It was definitely worth it. I was wanting it so I can put it back to storage charge too.

    I made separate adapter as i dont like to cut original charger but for somebody who dont have way to make adapter there its other solution for storage charge. If you have original pro light kit and lights goes off due to lower voltage cut off then cells are exactly 3.8V tried few times. That's work only with pro light kit any other LED will be still on like bumper lights or other accessory lights.

    • @OverBudgetRC
      @OverBudgetRC  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's good to know about the light kit.
      I couldn't find connectors for these batteries at the time not sure if and sells them now, but this was the best solution I could come up with. For me I didn't care about cutting the charger.

    I made an adapterplug for the esc via the battery connector. You can connect the balance port (male) on the esc via 1 cable. Cut both power cables off. Then add the new connector (i used JST male because i had a couple of JST batteries lying around). And add the new connector (jst female) and the balance port plug (jst xh female) to the battery. This time add all the wires of the balance port plug. That way your battery can be charged normally. And with the cable for the esc you can use any battery. It's the same, but different, but still the same!

      Sorry I was in the desert no reception. Yes I keep all of my lipos at 3.8v per cell. If you do that they should last a lot longer

      Yes they should have it would probably be an id connector but at least there are adapters for those

    You would think one could be able to sue Traxxas for not giving you an option to storage charge their 2S TRX-4M Lipos with their proprietary charger or use an ISO standard connector so you could use existing hobbyist hardware. What is unsafe is your house burning down because the internal resistance is purposely and negligently ignored by Traxxas and the basic user has no idea how volatile unsafe storage of LIPO batteries can be and then blame it on user error during the charging phase. its dirty and gross. I'm just happy I have the capacity to chop them connectors off and use my own.
