- 🗡️Zidane Tribal: Ultima Weapon
Zidane's best weapon, the Ultima Weapon, can only be found on disc 4. While on Choco, visit the exact location that the Shimmering Islands used to be (use the map for guidance). Once there, feed Choco a dead pepper. Search in the center of the ruins , you'll find a treasure chest with the Ultima Weapon and some other items.
-Abilities: Flee
-Status: Sleep
🗡️Freya Crescent: Dragon's Hair
The Dragon's Hair can be found on the Forgotten Continent, near Oeilvert. You'll find it in a crack near Oeilvert. Search carefully: it's not easy to find; keep an eye on the mountains nearest the water.
Abilities: Dragon's Breath
Status: None
🗡️Dagger/Garnet: Whale Whisker
Dagger strongest racket in the game can be found just outside of Daguerro, "within" the Ocean Chocograph. This chocograph can be located just off the shore of the "long" continent to the north of Daguerro. Keep digging around! Also,Eiko can use this weapon.
-Abilities: Curaga, Life
-Status: None
🗡️Quina Quen: Gastro Fork
This one's kinda difficult. You have to go around the world and catch 99 frogs. Once you do, Quale when come up to you and challenge you to a fight. Defeat him in battle and he will hand over the Gastro Fork.
-Abilities: High Tide
-Status: Stop
🗡️Eiko:Angel Flute
Angel Flute is Eiko's ultimate weapon, it can be found in Memoria in the Past Room hidden near the ruined Alexandria Castle image.
-Abilities: Curaga, Esuna, and Holy.
-Status: None
🗡️Amarant Coral: Rune Claws
Amarant's Rune Claws can be found in the "evil eye in the sky" room. While on the platform between the two staircases, take a left and go between the pillars. Search around until the action icon shows up.
-Abilities: Spare Change, Demi Shock, Revive
-Status: Darkness
🗡️Vivi Ornitier: Mace of Zeus
Vivi's "Mace of Zeus" can be found in the very last dungeon in the game, Memoria. This "weapon" can be found by searching on the far (that is, farthest from the camera) left corner of the platform immediately before Lich boss fight.
-Abilities: Doomsday
-Status: Mini
🗡️Adelbert Steiner: Ragnarok and Excalibur II
Steiner actually has two ultimate weapons!
Ragnarok can be found in the "Outer Island" Chocograph no.21. While on Choco, head to the island immediately to the right of the entrance to the Desert Palace. Search on that island.
-Abilities: Shock, Thunder Slash
-Status: Slow
☠️Excalibur 2 this is, unquestioningly, the hardest weapon to obtain,it also has the highest attack power.In order to get it, you must reach the end of Memoria, the final area in the game, within 12 hours of in game time.
-Abilities: Minus Strike, Climhazzard, Stock Break
-Status: None
-Element : Holy

To be fair I feel with a certain piece of gear Steiner's second best is actually the First Excalibur. The damage is actually higher than the Ragnarok...and thats mostly cus very few enemies resist holy. With some to be weak to it.

I prefer to just use a cheat to set the time to 0:00:00 to get Excalibur 2. One of the only times in gaming where I'm ok with cheating in a game. Although that's not possible on the PS4 as far as I'm aware. I'll never understand the point of such a requirement, especially in a Final Fantasy game

I believe it is a spend-run challenge before the time of achievements/trophies.
I take it as a challenge run, which is wonderful for replayability if you like challenge runs. Otherwise Excalibur 1 is perfectly fine with me. I don't need to be even more ridiculously OP. He already gets Shock and Flare Sword. The only thing that even slows down Steiner is lack of MP and pausing to use Ether or Elixir.
No actually the official strategy guide was useless cause it was all tied to a website that never worked properly

I've never picked up Excalibur II either. Just don't think it's worth the effort.

@@tape4767 that is why you do it after you finished the game your way. If you dont want to miss most of the game, use a guide
true, at that point in the game, ragnarok is more useful, since many enemies will have element resistance towards the final area, making both versions of the Excalibur a bit weaker.
Very good video. Been a long time since I played this game. This is a good reminder. I never did get Excalibur 2 unfortunately. 12hrs is a challenge if you don't want to speed run through an entire game.

There actually is a better weapon for both Eiko and Garnet/Lilly. I don't know the english name since I played the game in german. It is a racket, so one of these clunky staffs that fire ranged attacks and I think it had attack power in the 45s. You need a chocobo to get it (Purple or gold, not sure on that). Basicly, you have to go into that cavern where Vivi lived together with his "Father", at the end of it there is some kind of balcony where Zidane can look down onto the ocean and finds a spot with weird bubbles. If your chocobo is appropriate, you are then given the option of using a dead pepper which will lead to you finding the treasure that contains the weapon.

Change my mind: Excalibur II is desinged that way to give the speedrunners an op weapon for the final fights of the game
If you are a completionist the rest of your party is also so fk strong that you dont need it

One question: where is the Tiger Racket in your video? It is stronger and more efficient than both Whale Whisker AND Angel Flute.
I think that you might be wrong
Azriel PSX Whale Whisker is a melee weapon, with attack power 36. Angel Flute is a melee weapon with attack power of 33. Granted, both teach their ultimate spells (curaga for Dagger and Curaga AND holy for Eiko).
But Tiger Racket has a 45 attack power, plus it is ranged, therefore not hindered by back row penalty. It is both Dagger and Eiko strongest weapon. The only caveat is that it is a shared weapon, not exclusive, like the rod or the flute.
Well,if we look at pure atc power then yes,but if you take other stat bonuses,magic and versatility i think whale whisker is much better for non melee character :)
I use them all in frontrow as damage dealers. equal rights and tasks for every character.

I have the switch version which allows me to set all my characters to lvl 99 and hit for 9999 anytime. These weapons mean squat. In fact, i metaphorically threw this game away by activating the built-in cheats. Which ia why...i started over and played this legitimately.
For Excalibur II, If you can't reach before 12 hours gameplay, you can reset gameplay hour after reach 99 hours gameplay.

As far as i know, the time counter does reset back to zero after 99.99.99 hours and changes color but the actual time count is not reset and you won't get the sword.
I guess it was just made that way because the game's timer does not support that many numbers and whenever it is about to reach 100 hours, goes back to zero, similar to the work of a clock, which goes back to zero at midnight.
At the end there’s a video suggested that is blocking some of the text from view.

I haven't played ffix yet how are you supposed to know where to look for zidanes ultimate weapon? Is there an in game quest?
Chocobo Sidequests: Gather Chocographs; Find treasures indicated in the chocographs as shown in the first few minutes of the video; Go to Chocobo Paradise and talk to other Chocobos there for the location of other treasures.
3 years later since nobody answered... there's a small place called the shimmering island, when it's destroyed, spoiler alert, use your upgraded chocobo to dive in the spot where the island was.

Actually this is the first FF franchise that I played. And looking to finish all of them. With regards to this best weapons , when will be the best time to get it? Like can i get it early in the game?

If you want all of them then you need to reach disc 4
Some of the weapons here can be gathered in Disc 3, specifically those that involves a Chocobo and Quina... others are in Memoria, which is in Disc 4...
Quinas can be gotten as soon as you get quina disk 1. You have to grind grand dragons and wait hours for frogs to breed, but it's totally doable. As soon as you get a boat you can get whale whisker. When you get dropped off on the forgotten continent, you can get the dragons hair. Late disk 3 and final dungeon for most others.
I prefer the tower over Zidane's Ultimate weapon
I actually prefer ultima weapon but if i don't want to do that stuff i go with the tower

The only thing "normal people" obtain Excalibur 2 is by cheating, for example, reset game time (00.00) cheat either by gameshark on PS1 or on PC trainer.

Just got it yesterday on Steam version.
It is actualy possible to get Excalibur II and every other items in the game, max stats and even see all the ATE. This challenge's called PGEXII and it's realisable.

How you can manage reach to memoria before 12 hours.... Please give me some hint or tips, i mean there's so many hard bosses a long the way how can you reach there before 12 hours.... Please explain
If you have steam version of the game you can cheat your way to it by keepping the speed up mode constantly on since it will make you faster but the game time still remains the same.
If you have the playstation version just look up excalibur run from youtube and copy whatever they are doing. Getting the sword is really nothing but accomplihment since the 2nd best sword almost always hits 9999 anyways xD

you need a gold chocobo for that , just find enough treasures in chocobo hot and cold mini game and your chocobo will turn gold eventually

Its has the higest attack power for both eiko and dagger,but whale whisker and angel flute are both character specific weapons
the Whale Whisker can only be used by Dagger.

The Reiner's 2nd best is not the Ragnarok. It is the Excalibur (I).
I don't remember how to get it, but its attack is 90 something, the Ragnarok is 87.
Ragnarok has a higher attack value
Excalibur I has attack on the house of the 70s.
You get it in Dagerreo from an old man with a quest
You got it excalibur 1 from the old man at daguerro. With the quest, you must have magical fingertip. You can get it from treno auction house

You do need a gold chocobo for Steiner's Ragnarok. Cause it's found in a treasure on an island where only this type of chocobo can get.
To get a majority of these you have to play the dumb ass chocobo hot & cold mini game.
At the start ir is a dumb ass mini game indeed, then it becomes amazing and addictive

Aren't most ultimate weapons in FF like that? They are basically treasure hunts except selected fews.
I think they are mentioned by those Chocobos in the Chocobo Paradise... others are from gathering Chocographs
