    Out of all gear I’ve ever sold, these pedals are what I regret selling most. My dad bought me some of these when I graduated from acoustic to electric and he saw that I was learning really fast. That tube screamer was basically my guitar sound from my old band.

    • @MrGul
      @MrGul  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! The neatness is much thanks to the pedalboard itself, primarily because it has built-in cable management on the underside. However, I do like to keep my cables tidy and under control since I'm destroying enough stuff as it is in my daily life and don't need f'd up cables to go along with it, haha!

    A Tone-Lok board really, really looks like a very small battalion of tanks.
    I find myself really curious about the Lo-Fi for some reason. Any plans on trying to show them off in more... flattering circumstances? As in sound-wise?

    • @MrGul
      @MrGul  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Haha, it does indeed look like that! Ironically, Ibanez once had a pedal series called SoundTank, but they are fugly as hell and didn't sell very well.
      I can make a dedicated video on the Lo Fi, indeed. Any other Tone-Lok pedal that deserves the same treatment, in your opinion?

    I feel much better about my cabling OCD after watching this 😂. I also can't help but suspect the following internal dialogue may cross your mind one day soon...
    "Gig time! I should grab my pedalboard... orrrrrr, I could leave my wheelbarrow in the shed and put this HX stomp in my pocket instead.... hmmmm... decisions, decisions....'
    It may be larger than a Helix, it may have less overall functionality than a Helix, but it does look waaaay more impressive than a helix. Top job.

    • @MrGul
      @MrGul  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'll make sure not to show you the underside of the board, because you'd probably have an anxiety attack or something... Well, perhaps not that bad, but it isn't the most professional cable management I've ever done. The pedalboard has three "tunnels" that are a part of the structure, and they're hollow, which means that you can run/hide cables through/in them.
      As for the HX Stomp, I'm still not sold on that unit. It sounds great, has a plethora of options, and has a huge advantage in its size, but I find it hard to navigate the menus when you just want to tweak a parameter of something really quickly on the go. I did go the digital route for a while when I used my Kemper for gigging, having a MIDI floor controller (with the UNO for Kemper chip installed) to switch effects and amp sounds, but I really missed tweaking knobs on physical pedals and thus gave it up (I still have the Kemper and the MIDI controller, but very rarely use it). However, during the last couple of years I've been trying to downgrade the size of my pedalboards (I have a bunch of different ones for various musical settings as well as separate boards for bass and guitar). This particular pedalboard was purchased with the sole intention of housing the Tone-Lok collection and it will most likely never be used for gigging - I hope...

    • @MrGul
      @MrGul  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have, and it works very well on bass! Much thanks to the normal/low range switch (not available on the Jr version) which basically drops the operating frequency range to bass territory. It's quite big though, and really eats up pedalboard space. I recommend you checking out the Dunlop 105Q bass wah as an alternative, which is also available in a mini format.

    • @MrGul
      @MrGul  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, that's exactly how they work! You just push 'em, and they'll pop in/out. I love that functionality, because when you have them popped in it stops the knobs from being accidentally changed when your foot touches the pedal(s) or when the lid of the pedalboard case touches the pedals. I wish more pedal companies did this!
