This is a MUST-WATCH for anyone that has a Dyson V7. I didn't know so many parts could be taken apart. Very concise and to the point, to get your Bad-Boy clean, and in good working order.
Thanks so much for making this video. The music was good, and this is the ONLY video I found that goes into detail of how to break everything down. No wasted time; just right to business. Thanks again.
Thank you Soo much!! I have had my vacuum for about 1 yr and never knew how until your video i appreciate it so much!! I gt my vacuum cleaned and it's amazing!!
My sole plate is already in the open position but I used a quarter and it just didn’t open but I was able to open and clean the cylinder. Disappointed and I tried a butter knife too but it didn’t work after many tries either quarter or butter knife
Very good video but when cleaning the pre-filter, separate the filter from the cage, remove dirt from inside, then rinse thoroughly before leaving to dry.
So, I’ve made this mistake before. The roller brush is something that can’t get wet bc it will ruin it. If you got it wet, you’ll have to get a new one. It’s bc the part that makes it spin is electric.
The brush comes out for cleaning. While it’s true you can’t get the electronic end wet… you can take it out. Check to make sure that you pushed it back in all the way and that it’s secured properly. Sometimes that’s it. Also I’m pretty sure that you checked to make sure it wasn’t wrapped w something. Two other things 1) if the dust bin is not properly shut.. a little ajar.. it won’t spin. Sometimes I have that problem. 2) if it’s not clicked in correctly on either end of the pole.. same thing. How do i know? Sometimes I use the motor tool and pole feom one dyson, on another model. It works, as long as I’m sure to keep the pole close to the vacuum unit. Because it doesn’t click into the new model( they want you to spend MORE money?! LOL I hope something works for you🍀
Ive had the same issues over the years w different ones. Currently have V7.. it’s broken too. Plastic. TBE. You can purchase a new dust bin for 22.00 from dyson. Sometimes , if you CALL the 800 # you can get a sympathetic (boomer ) customer service rep to send you replacement parts for free. SHHHHH…
I clean this stupid thing every month and it makes a huge difference. A note:there’s actually one more plastic piece that can be removed once you remove the dust shroud. Also aftermarket replacement filters can be purchased on eBay or Amazon. Sometimes it’s easier to start w a new one. The issue w the dyson is that its plastic , which keeps it light weight, but after awhile, the parts wear down from taking them apart and putting back together. I’d like to kill the engineer who thought using a COIN would be a good way to unscrew plastic parts!! WHO DOES THAT? ! Those slots on the vacuum heads lasted approximately six months.. and now it’s REALLY fun to screw them back on🙄. Don’t forget to register your dyson. That way you can get replacement parts for free sometimes. Even if it’s an old vacuum.. they start the warranty from the day you register. And after that you’re in their system and they’ll give you discounts on purchases of parts etc. You know those stupid little screws? Last time they sent me some extras too. 🙏🏿 These stick vacs get filthy fast , especially in a home that has pets. THEY DEFINITELY work better when they’re CLEAN.

Excellent video. Was very helpful. Ive subscribed.
Thank you for a great tutorial 💕
You did not show how to change small filter on top of
I want to do this so bad but scared of breaking the vacuum in any which way. This cost is a lot and my stingy husband wouldn’t replace it
My dysentery won’t open the dust chamber
Perfect! Thank you
This might be a stupid question, but can we not use any sort of soap?
Great question! I would recommend a good wipe down after rinsing, no soap.
@@jacbre2704 Is there a reason to not use soap? I figure some light soap would help break down the embedded dirt better in the filter?
HI, hope you are well. My roller brush is no longer turning what do you think is wrong with it, the brush itself or the bty?
