Welcome back, Constant Reader... and thank you to all who have been supporting this channel by subscribing!
Tonight, we will be entering the cornfields of Gatlin, Nebraska as we examine the "The Children of the Corn" -- the horror story written by Stephen King in the 1970s. But was it based on true events? (It wasn't... but let's pretend it was!)
What happened to Burt and Vicky Robeson? King's story tells us most of their tale... But we wondered how the family of this lost married couple felt...
And that led us to the discovery of some recently unearthed photos... Photographs that might prove the existence of a strange and deadly cult known as the Children of the Corn... who follow He Who Walks Behind the Rows.
This is creative and more scarier than most of the Children of the Corn films combined, and it's actually amazing how realistic those pictures look. Just goes to show how far technology and A.I. has come. With that said, next to IT and The Stand, Children of the Corn is the one Stephen King story I wouldn't want to be true as real life cults are terrifying enough.
That's because it doesn't feel like children of the corn it just feels like a more real life disappearance than anything else Children of the Corn never really is made to be scary in my opinion
Very well done! You brought in the very essence of what the Corn series failed at: isolation.
I actually love the idea of a cult member taking Alice's camera and snapping pictures. Whatever else they are, they are still children. And when children see a shiny new toy, their first impulse is to play with it.
As much as I love the short story and like the original film (and a couple of the sequels as so-bad-there-good films), I would love to see a video trying to explain how this would even be possible. It seems impossible that even in the 70's that a cult a kids that killed their parents would go unnoticed. Did non of these people have family or friends outside of Gatlin? Wouldn't the government notice a whole town of adults stopped paying taxes? Or did the kids just keep killing all the adults that showed up, and somehow go unnoticed for decades?
Perhaps “He Who Walks Behind the Rows” is exerting a force that makes it to where the events of the town are not considered important enough to really take notice. Similarly to how Pennywise makes it so that the events that take place in Derry are more or less ignored by everyone who doesnt have some sort of special protection or “Shine”.
These get better and better. Love the true crime thing.
Thanks... as you can probably tell, I love making them!
@@stephenkingbookclub1054yeah the true crime style adds to the stories
Yeah, the fact that the children 'age out ' gives it a touch of Logan's Run....a society that is kept forever young..... just my opinion
@@Donathon-qx8kq Yes! Never thought of it.
Holy cow, this is stellar! What a terrific interpretation of King's work. Your visuals are getting more and more seamless, and I love the voice actors you got for the relatives.
Awesome job! I love the pictures that go with these stories! That was a great one of the "He Who Walks Behind The Rows"! Very scary looking. Great job as usual, thank you for posting!
Wow! That was scarier then the Children of the Corn movie that I saw years ago.
Seconded!
I agree! The shock animation made me jump and my whole body clench 😮
This is the BEST adaptation of the story IMHO.
Captures the feeling of reading it better than any of the movies.
I think because it's the idea of a person discovering something like an apocalyptic log, what happened to the person, that and the fact that children being killers is unnerving.
Which movie, because there have been several. I swear studios milked that story for everything it was worth and then some.
Appreciate the Full Dark No Stars reference. This is so well done and gradually builds to the jump scare. It really scared me. Nice work!
Awesome, thank you!
@@stephenkingbookclub1054I can tell that this is scripted but I have to say this makes Children of the Corn sound a lot more interesting
@@stephenkingbookclub1054I say good job overall
Where was the reference?
jesus christ this was awesome , you good sir have a talent and gift for doing these amazing videos .. this one was definitely scary and you have brought back my fear of ever going into corn fields …
please keep these coming .. for your next project you should do
The TommyKnockers …
I agree
That jump scare made me shout an expletive and almost throw a drink in my own face. Well done.
Ha! I'm glad you didn't throw your drink -- but, full disclosure, I'm also glad it scared you into a bout of profanity! Thanks for watching!
I love this fandom/ elaboration/ realms that we can enjoy because an amazing author gave fans an amazing foundation for others to layer upon.
Excellent as always. Thank you for your great work. 👍😊
Thank you! Cheers!
Wonderful as ever. Iv'e only recently discovered this channel and love it. The strange resort series is my favourite.
This was amazingly done. The photo montages were incredibly creepy.
Road trippers beware of small towns, I,ve heard of frightening stories of deadly cults since I was a tween ager. So, I know about these kind of things at a very early age thanks 2 my dad.😱
I was driving from Augusta to Memphis and decided to bypass the i-40 traffic by taking the back roads. I drove 20 miles with no street lights and saw a gas station. Stopped at the gas station, filled up, and immediately got back on the highway....those backroads are no joke....YIKES
Same, especially in the south.
I grew up watching and reading scary stories so it’s been a long time since anything has been truly scary but this was really scary., it had me clutching my invisible pearls. Great job 👏.. I just discovered this channel and I’ve tuned in daily❤
Thanks so much -- your invisible pearl clutching tale made my day! :)
Totally awesome love the book love the movie and now I love your narration😊
Ugh now i want a movie about Alice and what happened to her in Gatlin.
You think you do, but you don’t.
My new favorite channel. I’ve watched twice and will send out to my F&F thank you for your work. 💯 agree the Kings need to endorse you.
This was an awesome video so glad I’ve found your channel. I take it, this is an excerpt from the book?
I'd say this video is more like a blending of fan fiction and summary details from the book :) In some of our videos, we try to explore: What would happen after the story? And what would people, outside of the story's events, think about what happened to their missing loved ones?
Other than showing what I assume was He Who Walks Behind The Rows (it should have been kept a mystery), this was a pretty disturbing one. Loved it.
Congratulations you earned a subscriber who's first book he really enjoyed was the long version of it! I've read this book fourteen times and it still doesn't get old. If I have known about your interesting channel, I've had subscribed way earlier. Thank you for your work
That was great, the photos and the story, fan fiction. Wonderful.
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Incredible work! I am impressed all over again with each video. Really fantastic stuff here.
Ok. I've read the books, seen the movies. But this brings out alot more questions and I want to know more. Its scary to think, but someone better get to Gatlin and solve this mystery. 😮😊❤
Someone like, say Charles Hatfield?
Love the true crime concept you're doing for several of his works.
I just found this channel and I think it is Damm good. The story along with the photos , that really was scary🥶🌽
Just found this channel the other day and love the content! Have you done End of Watch?
Glad you found us! Haven't touched upon the Bill Hodges trilogy yet... except for a video where I rank all of the Holly books :)
Excellent! Loved this!
I really enjoy your videos that are like this (or of a similar vein)!
I'm so glad!
Oh hell nah!!! The end scared the ---out of me. I dropped my phone. I had the valume on high. Rest in peace to my eardrums. 😂
This is a really clever way to handle this material. Good job.
That was creepy and better then any of the movies.
Interesting, in that Vicky Robison's brother sets out to look for from Ferndale, CA. Or, Salem's Lot, as it has been known on screen since 1979....
I'm glad you noticed this detail :)
This was excellent - especially with the imagery to tie it into the storyline. More of a mystery than a horror, but I enjoyed the implications. Thank you for this.
I am subscribing to your channel for a weird reason. I have never read a single Stephen King novel. I have seen about every film adaptation, I am wondering if i watch videos on your channel I might finally be tempted to actually read a book
That's a great reason to join the channel. Welcome to the Book Club!
Just found your channel man its very spectacular 👌
I love this channel so much! keep up the wonderful work!
Thank you so much! I'll do my best :)
Great work! I can't believe this channel only has 21K subscribers
I thoroughly enjoy all of your content. This was a delightfully clever way to revisit Gatlin.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you found our strange little Book Club!
Great story and video!
Thanks so much!
I LOVE these. You extend Stephen King for us. So grateful.
Glad you like them!
Goodness gracious. I'm glad I listened to this way before bedtime
Amazing work. You are getting better, and there are so many more books to choose from! I always imagined doing a fake Talk-Radio show set just outside of Jerusalem's Lot.
July 26, 1976 was my parents' 7th anniversary. They are still married.
That's a rare and wonderful thing in this day and age. :)
@@stephenkingbookclub1054 thank you!

For the glory of *HE WHO WALKS BEHIND THE ROWS* ... !

Omg this is so good!!
New subscriber here, im loving your videos!!
Welcome!!
Dang! How could you?! Good work by the way!
At first... they look friendly. But things change. You notice their extra limbs and disfigured bodys.
Holy 💩 balls! I had no idea what I was getting myself into watching this video. 😳 You did a great job. New subscriber her. 👋🏾 Oh, you totally had me. I thought the photos and everything was real until the last bit. 🤦🏾♀️
Welcome aboard!
What A Great Narrative. This Kept Me Listening. 👍 👍 Wow ... ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@stephenkingbookclub1054 thanks for the Reply. I'm Constantly Reading Stephen King Books Also. 🙂
Genius. I am a dual subscriber and Like on both.
There was a movie that came out a few years ago called Savageland that was reminiscent of this. This was damn good and spooky. Though I wonder what eventually happened to the children of Gatlin and ge who walks behind the rows.
I wonder too... It doesn't seem like a sustainable community, LOL!
Damn, this is good! I was trying to get sleepy. Good luck with that! 😂
At 10 minute mark I had make tea and watched puppies for few minutes.❤ Very disturbing to a Outlander like me .Great job mate❤
This was fantastic!!
Noble Savage says "Come Again?!"
My name is Alicia and my mom's name was Alice that caught me off guard
I can see how that might unnerve you!
@@stephenkingbookclub1054 Took me by surprise for a moment
Wow! That was scary. Great job!
Glad you enjoyed it
It would be cool if someone could go back and investigate these disappearances. Finally figure what really went on in Gatlin. 😊
*The Blue Man! The False Minister!*
Fantastic really well done very cool
Thank you very much!
Excellent!❤
Thank you! 😃
That was a really great story. This comes in second next to my favorite S.K. story. IT. The book is far better than the movie. Trust me.
Good photos!
Glad you like them!
Whoever created He Who Walks Behind The Rows should have done the same for the remake. That was creepy. 😁
Interesting work!
Wow.. The pics on that camera.. I'm really at a loss for any kind of words that could help me compose a comment containing any form of sustenance to it.. Creepy and absolutely terrifying..esp to have been the person(s) that ends up finding it =\
Nice drop on Ferndale...Salem's Lot was filmed there...
Glad you noticed! I love trying to put in little nods to other books and movies of Mr. King :)
those photos are beautiful
Thanks... Most of them are generated by Midjourney A.I. :)
@@stephenkingbookclub1054 they are breathtaking
Great story , thank you.
This keeps giving.
I love this so much!
Fantastic!!
Creepy and Scary....❤❤❤
This is the best channel I find on TH-cam 🙏🫶
Bro, you just made this story a 100 x times better . The thing she sees in the cornfield was horrific. 😮 just to think if that's who they're worshipping.
This would make a great game.
Woah as someone ho loves the story but is disappointed by the movies nice job
Great story!
Wicked good content
I have so many questions
Who did the corporation buy the land from? I don't think the corn cult has the ability not the will to enter into commercial transactions.
Why did the corn cult abandon their home base, and where did they move to? Did the children disband or did they all die out?
Are there any resolution or updates after the pictures are published?
Good stuff,very creepy.
This was good
Thank you!
This is base on the book not the movie. In the 1984 movie they were newly weds where as in the book they have been married for a while and on the verge of Divorce.
Why the hell can't we get this as a movie.
I'm changing my pants now. Thanks for the scare.
Lov it 😅
Hey can we get an investigation into Randall Flagg and his activities as well as his connections to other universes.
It's in the brainstorming phase... but I'm looking forward to taking on Mr. Flagg :)
@@stephenkingbookclub1054 I'm under the assumption he is Carrie's dad and he has tons of unaccounted for children.
Personally I want to know what Randall Flagg is. Is he a human wizard or something from beyond the multiverse?
Does he show up in more recent works?
And is he the only one as powerful as he is?
Anyone else get Lost tapes vibes?
⚠JUMP SCARE with LOUD sounds 16:15 ⚠
This is terrifying.
What? They're just little kids! XD
@@stephenkingbookclub1054 Let's be honest, little kids are creepy, like the old Halloween pictures from years ago, or Cousin Oliver or Mason Reese...kidding, but not.
I am really enjoying the content. Brilliant little things like Peter Goldsmith explaining the events of "The Stand", including how the people of Project Blue died so quickly and Charles Campion being Patient Zero, as well as if Stu hadn't turned off the pumps. I have read the uncut "The Stand" countless times and I finally got an answer!! Plus the eeriness of photographs of people and places from the "uncanny valley" ( they're right, but something is off) in all the videos, your meticulous attention to the tiny details is noticed and appreciated..riveting. A gem and the most enjoyable binge-watch I ever had.
Thank you- Debbie
“He Who Walks Behind The Rose” is the Man In Black from the Dark Tower Series- Who Gets Killed/Destroyed By The Hero-THE GUNSLINGERRRR WOOOOO 👍 📚 🌽
the first story and horror movie was from the spanish book the kids game 1976 and the spanish horror movie of same book who can kill a child..1976.....stephen king short story came after that......
I wonder who the actual people in the real photos are
Just watching that movie makes cringe.
Ahhh... they're all corn mush!
