I did this myself on Driver Side in my driveway. Watched some videos. Unbolted the dogbone mount on top, and under the 2004 Lexus RX330 undid 3 motor mounts. raised up engine with wood & bottle jack. Axle spline frozen in the wheel knuckle bearing. Used a Rotary Hammer drill & bullnose SDS bit to get it unstuck.
before you jack up the engine pan or transmission to remove the mounts - Do you remove the top dog bone engine mount and take off the nut off the front engine mount?

Yes
I have an 09 es350. Would you suggest Lexus does the work or would you trust a local mechanics to be able to do this type of work?
A local mechanic. I'm looking to do mines on my 13 ES350 in my garage. You could even do it yourself if you have the tools.
A good local mechanic can do this.
is it the drivers side or the passenger side that you cut the notch in to remove the motor mount?
Driver side
