  • The KRX 1000 clearly asserts its dominance in the rocks while in Colorado! What are your thoughts? Should I do a rematch with a clutch kit or gear reduction?

    Here's a tip: Next time you come across an obstacle like the Wall, try approaching it with the accelerator depressed about a quarter and use your left foot to control the brake which allows for a smooth application of power and torque to the wheels instead of just using the accelerator pedal to climb up. It reduces the chances of spinning the wheels like you did and really makes a difference.

      That’s actually a really good tip thank you! I think the biggest issue was the clutching and me trying to run 32” tires on stock clutches but that tip makes a lot of sense!

    The wall is for sure a challenge! You guys actually did another bypass, the one you said you would have bottomed out is the " Wall." You are correct you bottom out really hard, did it last year in the RMAX and made it, took a couple of line changes.

      I want to go back and give it another go. I think with a clutch kit and taller tires I would be able to do it. Colorado is one of my favorite places to ride

    The KRX is a fun machine. I picked one up earlier this year and the hardest place I've been so far is Moab, Utah. Still have to get to Colorado one day. Looks like loads of fun.

      Colorado is a blast! Our Moab trip was really fun too, my dads KRX was a tank out there. I didn’t have any trouble either but the Kawi is definitely made for the rocks

      Thanks! We had amazing weather and the riding was awesome. Getting out and really enjoying these machines with my dad makes it all worth it. I need to go back and have a second attempt at the wall though lol I think the line I took was terrible.

      @@SchmidtysOffroad For sure man. Nothing better than making memories with family and friends on these things. Hands down the best. Lol, yeah I would have been curious to see how it would have handled if you would have unhooked the sway bar. But I know for me, I would have unhooked mine for some rides but a huge part of all my rides I want it hooked up for the stability and higher speeds. I actually want to order the electronic disconnect sway bar but that's a tough pill to swallow in terms of money for something like that. you ever seen that electronic sway bar?

  • @minidiggin
    @minidiggin ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Is your front sway bar disconnected on the Pro XP? If not, I would bet lots of money that you would have walked up that If it was disconnected/removed.

      @SchmidtysOffroad  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I had the sway bar on. I’m annoyed I didn’t take it off because we disconnected the KRX sway bar before that ride and I didn’t even think to disconnect mine.

    It is more about the driver than the machine! Driver picks the line, both are capable machines, no need for gear reduction or clutch kit. Just pick better line. Let’s see a video with a driver swap, and see what happens. No offense but the inexperience plays a big part hear. Thanks for the entertaining videos. Keep it up.

    • @SchmidtysOffroad

      We have had a UTV pretty much the same time. Year a lot isndriver line but trust me, a pro xp crawling with 32” tires on a stock clutch isn’t good. Regardless of driver the clutch will slip. This same thing has happened several times even crawling on flat ground. Two different machines built for different things but I do agree a lot is line choice. His machine also being wider helped him get on that better line and stick to it

      @@SchmidtysOffroad hey appreciate the reply! Hope I didn’t offend anyone wasn’t the intent. On the video the line choice looked different. I have 2 pro xp’s and agree even though they are both pro xp, they are completely different, one is setup for desert/softer terrain and the other rock/ hard pack, both are ultimates with the dynamics but the rock set up handles completely different. So I do get that. However I am not seeing an issue with clutching, on either , both stock clutches. On the rock setup I am running a full stage 5 trinity exhaust and tune, with Zbros aftermarket dual rate spring kit on the fox dynamics and it rides way different mostly with the steering, both ride smooth , but the aftermarket spring’s due change the ride - Do you think the suspension is playing a role for you as well possibly? I am genuinely curious as I am looking into the KRX 4. Again really enjoy your content, thanks for doing it!!! The rock set up I am running system 3 xc450 tires they really good and like them as an all around tire, I know they aren’t specifically for rocks but they are amazing on desert/hard pack and do very good on gripping rock too , they are 32”, on my other one I am running ITP coyotes same as on the turbo s they are 32” as well. What tires are you running on your machines? I’m curious why your clutch is slipping, I don’t think 32” tires should do that?

      @@larrym5606 no offense taken! I will agree my dad took a better line and his machine stuck to it a lot better than mine! The pro fits my riding style better than a KRX. Heck yeah I just subscribed, I love watching anything SXS related. How do you like your Pro compared to your KRX you sold? I have driven my dads and I like it but overall I love my Pro. Just wish it was a little better in the steep rocks.

      @@SchmidtysOffroad Thank you for subscribing! I liked the KRX but I thought it was just a little bit too big and heavy, was definitely a great machine. But I like the pro XP a lot better, it's a lot more nimble than the KRX. And the power is a lot more fun. As you know when you step on the gas it really moves.

    • @SchmidtysOffroad
      @SchmidtysOffroad  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree with all of that. I really like the nimbleness in the trails we ride. I feel like the turning radius is so much better on the pro. I can whip it around trees and my dad will have to back up some times. Both are awesome but I love the get up and go of the turbo. And it sounds better haha
