I was at this taping. I had no idea the flaming lips were gonna be there. That theatre was rocking. The bass was pounding through the seats and in your chest. Their performance was so energetic. It was the best part of the show.
i still get this quick feeling of "shock" when anyone reminds me these guys had actually won Grammy's, it's so weird to see they sometimes reward real music :)
This is badass..... to think such an eclectic group of people like this came out of no-name place (for bands, anyway) like Oklahoma. Simply untouched, pristine, and pure awesomeness.
This initially wasn’t one of my favorites from “Embryonic,” but after seeing this I grew to like it more. One of my favorites from the album is “Convinced Of The Hex.” Such a great piece. Love The Flaming Lips.
top 2 bands i have ever seen live 1: the flaming lips 2:tool the lips played this song on their set... it awesome just to hear a happy song by them then the stage turn all red and the members were like shadows playing this song out of nowhere... like the show just turned evil on you. plus i got to see the lips for free. the whole day was a psychedelic drug induced adventure and thought that we weren't going to be able to see them. but we ended up seeing them for free. which was awesome
Zeppilinexquisitely nailed to the wall with the Johnny Bohnam touch. Capturing and setting free the cymbolic essence of true Vaseline aroma and inner space sensations, Flame on. In this world, but not of it.

Sick
I saw it on tv that night and got the album immediately after. Still their best album too…

It's so bad ass that something this anti-saccharine was played on latenight TV.
Absolutely.
Letterman gave a shit
Kliph was such a perfect fit for their sound...

That drummer is freakin awesome
j mill underrated AF
Yuppers!!!
He parted from the band in an ugly way.
He didn’t “part “ he was fired for basically being a Internet bully, it’s well documented, pretty angry dude.

It's an incredible album. Their creative process for it was completely experimental
I love this clip just for how speechless Dave is after the performance.

This has got to be one of the Top Ten Live Performances on Letterman
I’m probably the only person in the world that has this opinion, but I really wish Thee Oh Sees would cover this.
Love this album! The Winnipeg, Manitoba show was great last summer, took the whole family to see them!
Currently, my favorite band!!!!!!!
Damn this is a good performance
The last time they were on Letterman before this, they played "The Yeah Yeah Yeah Song". Quite an unusual shift.
Wayne for president!!! Cmon cmoooon!! YESSSSSS THE FLAMING LIPS!!
They are so amazing.
Utas que chingones son los Lips
I miss this flaming lips!
I've been a fan for years and every time: Holy fuck.
Can you imagine how much duct tape Steven has at his house?
I love them so much! Love this album!
squishy ominous bassline & robert wyatt (in the 60's) style drumming, groovy af
I love how when playing on Letterman 2 years previously the guitarist had the same guitar, except this time he's sawn off the bottom neck.

This live version is fantastico!
Great stuff.
Great music. Found your video on reddit post!!
Going to forget anything they've made past 2011. This is unreal!
The Terror was a great album.
I just saw them,
It reminds me of "my cosmic autumn rebellion" but on Earth
Bilbo rocked the shit outta that one...
Late night TV isn’t a great place to find music. I didn’t find this album until I was moving out of my apartment and found it under the sofa.
The only thing that would make this better is a couple of confetti cannons.
@GreatUnwashedMass confetti cannons make EVERYTHING better.
I always knew there was more in em than she don’t use jelly. (. Yes I k ow it’s a different lineup then)
Wayne for President
drummer is goin off..
JA ne sličan za uporediti današji za ipak ti The Mars Volta lice od TO BE u prezentu na taj način sličan!
They actually preform with primus more that you'd think.
Denounce the abuse of elephants Wayne!
Wayne is to low on volume.
