spencer's live vocals have gotten insanely good
I was JUST thinking how much he's improved from the earliest live shows - seriously impressive!!
ill bet they always are, i think due to this being a casual event , and only sang one song (i think) he was at 110%, when you see live videos online, song one is normally great, then they get tired lol. and he simply cant preform at full potential , great either way
Very few people are great lead vocalists naturally, but you can train a decent voice to be great with enough practice.
A Clark actually they played maybe 5-7 songs, it was fantastic and Spencer sounded great.
probably because he has good monitoring here and can hear himself properly
Stranger Things is such an epic ending for Omega!
a very appropriate use of the word epic
Yea, it was such a perfect ending, i just find it weird that there is no music video for it and they play it so much
It is! The song Omega itself was amazing although it is long. The Bad Thing and Priestess were awesome. The best from Juggernaut still had to be Psychosphere for me, personally. I just love that song. You should check out the 'machine gun' riff on Stranger Things where they hit the G# note on the lower F# string repeatedly.
Psychosphere is AMAZING man, lovelove that song, so emotional and powerful, think Alpha gravitates to people who are more so into catchy choruses and poppy tendencies over all but Omega theres so many great songs, Priestess is underrated to me but Omega followed by Stranger Things probably my favorite closer to an ending ever besides White Walls by BtBaM
My bad, it wasn't from Stranger Things. Anyone happen to know which song where they hit the G# note on the lower F# string repeatedly. like a machine gun djent riff?
"Honey, we won't be able to make the mortgage payment this month."
"What the hell do you mean??"
"I walked into Guitar Center to get some strings and picks but Periphery was there playing and well....those guys are magical so long story short I have an 8-string now."
Better investment
So accurate
What I love about Periphery is, no pretense, no bullshit. Just some chill guys playing amazing music and having a great time. No costumes, no uniform, no bullshit. They let the music do the talking and love what they do. So cool.
Yea but sometimes the costume isn't pretentious at all. Like Adam D from killswitch engage. Wears a cape and daisy dukes because it's funny and makes a fool out of himself on stage
An 8 string PRS. just Wow
Jose Monro there's a few.
That’s probably worth 6 grand easy
I could be exaggerating a little lol
Proper custom PRSs can get absolutely nuts. Like aggressive multi-scales and shit that I've seen in a high end store near me that cost comfortably over 10 grand
@@Mytube6138 what? Never seen a PRS multiscale, damn that sounds cool!
Fun fact, they played this so Spencer could take a piss break
Yep, I was there. Awesome little event
LOL you replied to your own comment a year later thinking it was another person?
@@aebious8886 hahahaha holy shit
@@aebious8886 haha lol
@@aebious8886 man's high
I firmly believe Spencer is the greatest vocalist in the genre.
Michael Gutierrez agreed
I second that
3 years later... still fucking true
Every member has a unique things to offer which you can't find in most bands.
i 100% agree
Spencer is KILLING IT
Periphery is just godlike in person. they sound so good, and jesus christ Spencer is the real deal. has a wider range live, than he does on record!
I really want to see them live!
I saw them at the Masquerade in Atlanta GA during their tour this year. They are amazing live! When you get chance to see them in the future you will not be disappointed.
NivekIohc I shall but I'm in the UK, So might have to wait a while aha
Catherine Langenstuck awww...don't insult The Gift of Music like that. Both bands are truly a gift and their music can get people through the shittiest of times.
Seen them Live 3 times. No band can compare to them in my opinion as far as how hype you get. The best band as far as sound live is The Contortionist.
Fucking Shit. Spencer's vocals are unreal good on this. This is goddamn incredible.
yeah he's fucking sick.
especially on the first track
jesus christ spencer. you could tell he was out of breath a lot in this performance but he never missed a key. any motherfucker says this guy sucks can be his guest and pick up that mic and sing it as flawless as he did.
When you see Misha playing. Big smile on his face. You can tell he's just living his dream. And it makes listening that much better imo
6:20 was the most djent thing I've ever heard in my life... hit me like a mofukin train
Absolutely man this is sooo tight and groovy
I'm so lucky that I was one of the 150 people who attended! The atmosphere was nothing like I've ever seen as a concert. Between the intimate q and a and the guy screening "SHIT ON THE FLOOR" it was so cool
Justin Dittburner I was standing right next to the shit on the floor guy, he was hilarious.
Chester Bennington given someone backed up their story, I’ll say you’re just salty you werent there; furthermore, RIP Chester
Jake's 8 string Ibanez is one of the nicest guitars I've ever seen
5:55 oooohhh man that stackkk
No words can express how super talented Spencer is.
Super Djenty. These songs still seem so new, but its weird to think that they were 2 albums ago
It was on Alpha/Omega, so just one album ago
Yeah I meant two albums ago counting P3
What was the other album that wasn't P3? These were on Alpha/Omega.
Love the way the last riff of four lights hints at that heavy as shit riff in stranger things
Just imagine if Nolly didn't leave and he's killin the bass with these monsters 🔥🔥
Wow lucky people. Wish I experienced this.....
Something about these two songs just fit so well together.
Maybe it's the fact that Four Lights has a slower version of a riff from Stranger Things.
When are people gonna play at my guitar center
justin beamon The funny thing is that this is my Guitar Center, but this was three years ago, when I wasn’t into Periphery, so that sucks...
3 guys, 24 strings. holy shit balls
João Ferreira If only Nolly were there with his extra 5. :/
I think it's actually 6, which would make 30 strings total. I guess the answer to that old question "but does it djent?" is quite obvious in this case :p
@@JoaoFerreira-fx3xp his yellow afterburner 1, yes? i believe that one was used for f# standard on the tours (or he could just pitch shift one in b standard)
I was there, was standing pretty much right in front of Misha, it was incredible. These guys are so down to earth and cool (and really nerdy too haha). Probably one of the best shows I've seen because of its intimacy.
Six years later and this is still one of my favorite videos to watch.
good live vocals! something very unusual
6:25 Nolly, wtf are you doing in the audience? Get in there n play dat bass.
Lmao
My two favorite songs off the double album. So stoked for this...
i saw this in my recommended like two weeks ago and i’ve watched five times since then, never gets old.
Dude this was shot so well, looks cinematic. Love how you got that part of Mark tapping.
Amazing performance, amazing vídeo. Good job
Ibanez 8 headstocks are perfect
yes, the jackson ones are ugly asf.
zifee mayne I like the Jackson 8 headstocks
Jake's is flipped but either way is perfect yes
Man, this song is so good! I wish they played it live more often!
I was there! What a great performance
I'm continuing to get physical pleasure out of this song.
Spencer's a beast...but a beast who's suited for an controlled environment such as this and the studio, his only flaw is over excitement in the moment (But fuck how can you not feel this shit) but I'm no one to judge him and neither are any of you...
It's a shame more people don't know about these guys. So good!
Matts floor toms sound awesome. Nice upload
I love Marks Emperor shirt, this dude is listening to so many different kinds of music just like myself :)
I love how this sounds so close to what you put on record.
Wonderful performance
jesus ive never seen an 8 string holcomb prs before
SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!
STILL BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Why did i only find this now that quality is damn crisp!
man!!!!! that's awesome! ! you shot very well! !! good capture
Thank you.
I love look at there three Who's using both 8 string.. Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit what an awsome.
Hahaha
It wasn't a "secret performance" they posted that they were playing a free show on Facebook.. Lol
I love Periphery
I was pissed because I wanted to look at the guitars on the back wall that day.
But Guitar Center wanted you to buy an 8-string.
Thank you so much for blowing my mind.
Mark's tapping part was one of the most intense things I've ever seen.
You really found something here with these perspective-type single-cam shots. So much drama and energy is captured..
What kind of lens did you use?
Your welcome. I used an AF-S Nikkor 28mm f/1.8G lens.
My thoughts exactly. Awesome job Eric. That was a great moment. Glad you were there to capture it and share it with us all.
Vincent Ippolito Actually, Misha wrote that part.
Manas Sharma He may have, but Mark is playing it with precision as per usual, and it looked fucking awesome with Eric's beautiful cinematography'
Proxy Who cares who wrote it? It's a Periphery song. They all have to play it. It sounds great whoever plays it.
Yooooo I was at this lol! Such a cool event, I have a few photos of them playing as well still! I remember you filming this lol, was just to your left right in front of Mark.
"Stop yelling shit on the floor. We arnt going to do it" -Matt Halpern
Holy shit. Feel like I'm watching a movie with this camera work. Awesome!
Thank you for the kind words!
My favorite song!!
This was so freakin awesome. I wish more bands would do smaller things like this, a possible guitar center tour?! Haha
Love this vid and sound quality, it sounds like it's in stereo. What equipment did you use to film this?! Love it!!!
This is disgustingly good
Spencer goddamn good vocals on this vidd
I think I'm in love with Mark's 8 string PRS
The drums sound so good
Damn! This was in Arlington Heights?!?! That's nuts!
Bands like this not winning Grammys/awards, says a lot about those franchises
It’s still crazy that they were nominated for one. Sadly didn’t win it
@@braydenoneil2129and as good as The Price is Wrong is, it isn’t even the best song on the album. Idk why it got nominated over Habitual Line Stepper or Motormouth or Lune
@@Hayden2002WX or absolomb
@@braydenoneil2129 absolomb is good, but it’s understandable that it didn’t get nominated with its long ass intro
@@Hayden2002WX fair, I just love that intro so much 💀
4:39 amazing vocal part!!!!!! Whoah!!!!!
The GC I go to all the time and i missed them.... SHEEEIT
The "selfish crimes" part from Stranger Things reminds me so much of something that would fit so well in a BTBAM song. Sounded a lot like Tommy. Both incredible bands.
It's actually "selfish cries", but I overall agree
It was a great night thanks for the vid! Ill upload my shitty iphone vids soon
Muazzam söylemiş.
So good
I was there!
I feel like I watch this video everyday
Spencer sounds so good, I almost want him to stop the deep harsh vocals to preserve his vocal chords. He is one person I don't want to damage their voice.
You can growl without hurting your voice fyi
Good thing you dont use your vocal chords for those screams than
Can tell you don't understand harsh vocals very well.
Damn Spencer. Dude brought his A game.
I was there, Moshing wasn't allowed... never in my life have I felt so constricted
My band favorite!!
Favorite band my!!
i cant believe i just saw this, that intro omfg
First song is called "Four Lights" btw
This is so killer.
Oh fuck my favorite periphery song ever and this performance is so good, god damn spencer! (Also the drum solo section is best part)
Holy shit this was so good
Fucking awesome. I'm looking forward to see these guys live someday
They're the best live!
goddamn 8 string prs...fuck
The vocalist Spencer is amazing
Just back for my quarterly viewing
if you have some more publish please! !!!
Any more from this show? it's sick
Please tell me you have more! :o
What was the full set for this show?
The way Mark holds that 12k dollar beast is so satisfying.
you see the 8string PRS and you instantly think theres only one guy in this planet who would have this guitar
Damn, I wish periphery would play at the GC I work at lol.
Badass!
What camera are you using? Looks great.
Jake's 8 string Ibby is gorgeous!
It’s pretty obvious that jakes guitar was a jb signature 8 string and what’s even sicker is that it looked like it had a tremolo bridge on it which is hard to find on 8 strings, I really hope that ibanez starts selling them
They’re not playing smoke on the water or stairway to heaven. Are you sure this is at a guitar center?
0:20 What guitar is thar?
What's the second song
This is my favorite song of all time. Can i sub it in brazillian portuguese? i'll give you the credits
This is the first tome i've seen Mark play something besides a six string.
I've never seen jake's 8-string before. looks weird with that headstock but also kinda cool
I really want to see Matt performing those fantastic loose grooves while drinking from a beer hat on his head.
