Honestly watching Matt play through this song comforts me so much. Every time I watch this video, and hear the music, I feel a sort of comfort and reassurance I don’t feel in many other places. Following his Instagram, he sits in barrels of ice which has a deeper meaning for him. it’s so interesting how humans are. His facial expressions in this are wild, and to some random person they’ll see just wild faces, but those who connect with this video see hours and hours of being uncomfortable in your own skin, and hours of practicing behind the kit, where eventually you just don’t care how you look. You find comfort through the music you make.
Matt, if you read this, just know that your anxiety can’t control you anymore. I see this video and I am reminded that I too can face my own demons. My own anxiety.
Thank you. For all that you and the guys in Periphery do. I am excited for the new music.

Maaaannnn Satellites was one of those songs where I found myself at a total loss for words the first time I heard it. The vocals, guitar work, drumming, mixing/mastering was JUST perfection. Fast forward to today, it has become one of my all time favorite songs. Masterfully done all around, well done boys!

i don't know if it wasn't intentionally but the kind of low illimination in the room gives to the song a much more deep and nostalgic feeling, by the way this playthrough is really awesome.

Matt really is a great drummer and this whole song is a true master piece constructed of parts that on their own are very simple and wouldn't do much, but when put together sound awesome!

Every aspect of this song is incredible. The vocals, it goes without saying, but the structure, the feel of the song. And the drums, the writing and the Matt plays, astounds me every time!

Amazing drums, amazing mix, amazing song, amazin atmosphere, amazing vocals. This song is just all out amazing. One of the best Periphery songs of alltime. All musicians are frontmen in their own right here. Especially the 3:30 drum build up is some great writing, how the intensity increases in a very creative and dynamic way. Most drummers would not have written such a creative buildup for sure. Matt FTW. The big question, how the FK is Periphery gonna best Hail Stan, and WHEN :)

there are a lot of superb drummers out there, you know them all... what makes Matt Halpern stand out ist that he is not only playing to a song - he is PART of the song, deeply emotionally involved, even when he's not even playing. A fantastic musician!

He's an incredible drummer and maybe an even better teacher.

It’s awesome to watch Matt play, you can tell he feels every single beat he plays.
Also gotta say, it’s impressive that in the “heavy” section he’s practically wailing on all the cymbals but it doesn’t sound overwhelming or flashy at all. It just works and meshes perfectly with the rest of the song. Remarkable mix and amazing dynamics on his part. As someone who hasn’t touched a drum kit I can only imagine how much skill it takes to have that much control
