(208) ACRYLIC POURING - FLUID ART Dutch Pour Variation - Part 4 of Iris Series - ABSTRACT

- Fourth in my series of Iris flower inspired Dutch pours. This time I used combined leftovers from the previous pour to create one of my main colors! Paints used: Chromacryl Acrylic Essentials in white, Grumbacher Thio Violet, Payne's Grey, Fine Touch Violet, Liquitex Cad Red Light, Soho Cad Yellow Deep and Arteza Pearl Pink (plus a mixture of scrapings that included everything from video #204). Each of these were mixed with 1 part paint, 2 parts Floetrol and 1/2 part water plus a bit more water if necessary to thin.
The base was mixed 3 parts paint, 5 parts Floetrol and 2 parts water, when using Artist's Loft Flow Acrylic White. With the Chromacryl, you need to add a considerable amount of water as it is much thicker (I used approximately 2 parts paint, 5 Parts Floetrol and 4 parts water!)

I love the old farm iris that are the color of a halved peach. Almost golden and rust burgundy. Can't wait to see his one!

This piece beautiful too! Those lines going through was the first thing I noticed after the blowout, even before you pointed them out. I love that idea. Also that orange and yellow pop against those purples so well.

Stunning!!!! I absolutely love orange and purple together! I really want to get your irises right! One, I love irises and two, I love your color combinations. I do hope you create more of these beauties...they are very inspiring. Who doesn't love a good abstract flower...definitely a winning series. I would be interested in how you would paint a gladiola...it's one of my all time favorite flowers. I would also🙄😁be interested in vine flowers...I love clematis. Wonderful Chris!😊💮💮💮💮💮

This is absolutely amazing 👏. I love all of your embellishments too. I wish you were my art teacher. I can't even draw a stick figure. My mom was an artist. She drew likeness of ppl. And my son hesitate that Gene aswell. One sister became a singer and I came out with zero talent.

Hi I am new to your page please keep going! I wanted to ask what do you do with the white first do you just pour it down then you wait before you put the other colors on top?
Hi Annetta! Thank you for joining me! I put the base down and tilt for coverage. I do it off camera because afterwards I scrape up the drippings to use again and that is messy and takes a little time. I don't wait any length of time before adding the colors...I try to move as quickly as possible. Watch some of my "wine pours" to see how I apply the base coat. Thank you! 😘
