Im from the North East; Ive had no exposure to this type of culture in ‘Top Boy’, I finished the entire 4 seasons in a week. I remember Kano and his music from when I was in secondary school in 2004/2005, what an actor hes turned out to be

Kano is so culturally relevant. I would argue in terms of black brits he’s number one. You do understand how long he’s been around. We’re only just appreciating him now. But I remember listening to rock and roll on my blackberry.
I saw his first show in the U.S., at Knitting Factory in NY. The energy was indescribable. Diplo was spinning beats for him and it was just loose and pure joy. Unforgettable. Seeing him get his flowers now is icing on the cake.
Man is a multi-talented monster, I still listen to his 60 minute live with Kano and friends in radio one. Absolute madness.

It’s so refreshing to see an actor with colour getting parts that seriously show case their skill, regardless of colour. ( if you get me) His ability to pull us in and take us on a silent and powerful ,deep and dark place, is only excellence. Bringing real skill to the screen. Sully got me every time. I used to work in a garage and him and his cousin came through with their cars back in 2015 just before garage skank released, I remember having a lengthy conversation about his career and how influential he is and as he was leaving he said to me and pointed big things coming brother trust me, prior to 2015 kano was considered done.
