satan knows once saved always is false otherwise why would he bother temping true believers?
Why would Paul tell us how to deal with the prince of this world IF salvation could not be forfeited?
      Ephesians 6:10-17
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14Stand thereforehaving your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

The main problem is that people confuse SANCTIFICATION with HolySpirit-led discipleship.
In 1Cor1:30 we read that @ Salvation the believer has been justified in Christ (with Christ Himself becoming our RIGHTEOUSNESS) & has been "set-apart" in Christ (with Christ Himself becoming our SANCTIFICATION)!
Discipleship is one of the purposes that the HolySpirit is indwelled into the believer.
    💥Eph2:10 (AMP)
"For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above-spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us]"

To believe in Christ is to " BE IN " Christ alone! Why do you think Jesus told the disciples that they would be persecuted and hated by the world. The purpose of the born-again Christian is to live in a manner that manifests the essence of God. Jesus is offensive to the world. To be saved is to be a light in this dark world. This is not just a mindset but also a literal manifestation of Christ for the purpose of drawing people to faith in Christ for the salvation of their souls.

It's confusing because we have all these OSAS people teaching that the Law is a curse and a burden and that people who try to keep the law/commandments are going to hell for doing so.
While the bible teaches that God's Laws are righteous, perfect, good. Not to depart from it.
The OSAS crowd misuses Paul's letters and warnings against Judaism to prove their doctrine, rather than trying to understand the Bible as a whole.
They present the case as if it's either faith in Christ OR keeping the law.
When really we should be keeping the law BECAUSE of our faith in Christ.
Christ did not come to abolish the law.
      Romans 3:31
"Do we then nullify the Law through this faith? God Forbid!! Instead we uphold the Law!"

[22] But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. [23] But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. [24] Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. [25] But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.
So the law is called the tutor by Paul, but after faith in christ came we are no longer under the tutor/law? What's Paul mean? Does he mean we are not under the law, but we actually are under the law?

@@CalebTheSeeker You need to understand dispensations. We are not under law but under grace(Rom 6:14-15). Factually Gentiles were NEVER under the law(only Jews). We are saved by grace through faith alone without works(Eph 2:8-9). Pauls Gospel(My Gospel..Rom 16:25) replaced the Gospel of the Kingdom which required faith and works. Gods laws are good. For Israel. In time past. Today we serve Christ because He saved us forever, which we CAN NOT lose(1 Cor 3:15). Regardless of our WORK not works. Evil works were forgiven at the cross(Col 2:10).

The law of God shows us whom we are without God and at the same time shows us whom God is, thus He is perfect in all ways and we are not. Does it mean we should sin away, of course not, though surely the law has nothing to do with our salvation. What the law shows us is that we surely need a Saviour and that is why God came to earth in the form of mankind, being born a baby by the virgin Mary and called Jesus Christ whom would be the Savior of mankind.
Living a life of sin will lead to traveling on the path of many many difficult bumps in the road and whom likes trials in life...surely no one wants to face trials, so yea, it is good to trust Jesus for His Holy Spirit being the way maker in our lives. We will stumble and fall along the way, though with the falls we have The Creator of us as support, wisdom, strength and the mender of our hearts.
Life become heavy and burdensome when the law of God is mix in with the walk in Christ...mixing salvation with the walk in Christ is never a good thing and yet so many christians take salvation and the law and put the two into one cup and call it salvation and that is where the heaviness come in, the boulders on the shoulder grow more and more. To be set free from the law and the boulders be removed is to believe Jesus, that His Word of truth for salvation truly is His gift and never earned.
Christians tend to mix grace and the law and sadly many do not even realize what is being done. I believe it is why Christ is so patient and merciful, cause He sees and knows every heart and sees that confusion is at an all time high. Thankfully Jesus our God has His plans and timing and is not according to our plans and time, for if He left us be, we all would be lost and with no retraction, but our Saviour is so gracious and merciful and so so patient.
Evenso, the time will come when the bride of Christ will be caught up at His appointed time and then during the anti-christ years God will work on His lost sheep and bring them Home, even though it is the long and hard way Home to Jesus, yet it is why God has those years set up, for it will be the eye opening years and many will finally see, believe and come to the true grace of Christ, though sadly the end result in those years will be to face being martyred by denying the anti-christ and his mark, yet foremost finally believing Jesus and His saving grace gospel is the truth.
The Bible is a love story, not just a story but truly the only true and living love story for the redemption of mankind by the grace of Jesus Christ. Many read the Bible from a standpoint of setting themselves in the stories and that is where the devil whispers his half truth and half lies, which to the carnal mind sounds good cause the heart thinks, oh, it is what is shown in the Bible, yet sadly being misrepresented and the devil's half lies leavens the whole lump into one gigantic mess and the outcome to the reader is swayed so far left and right that the mind can not distinguish up from down.
Not saying all this to judge anyone, as I too was in that spot and there still are days when the devil tries so hard with his whispers to sway the thoughts to fall back into the religious mindset that once was. BUT, glory be to Jesus for He surely is faithful to draw back His sons and daughters back to Himself and more and more the heart is built to stand sturdy on His grace foundation. Growing up in religion has done a number on the mind, yet Jesus is faithful and surely He will not lose one of His sons and daughters.
Best place to be is on His solid foundation and His grace is that solid rock which holds us, being grounded by His Spirit of truth that when the waves come, no matter the hight, our soul is not removed off of His grace foundation. Meditating on His grace surely is a builder of the mind and not speaking about the worldly meditation...Jesus rebukes the devil cause satan has tried to twist so many things of what God gave to His people as being good for us.
The saving grace gospel of Jesus is power to break down the walls and chains that the devil tries to set on people. Out of all things in life, no matter what may come, when we stick to His grace, Jesus surely will step in and be the guiding light, so truly, it is best to focus on Jesus and His grace for His Spirit will make the way along the way. Anyhow, prayerfully this meets you well and whomever may need it and as always all the glory being His cause Jesus truly deserves it all for His grace is the breath of life that sustains us day to day, moment to moment. Blessings in Jesus name, Amen.

David Pawson is one of the best Bible teachers in the last 70 years.
      He is correct;
      We are not yet saved.
      Romans 13:11-14
Do this, knowing that this is a critical time. It is already the hour for you to awaken from your sleep of spiritual complacency; for our salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed [in Christ]. 12The night [this present evil age] is almost gone and the day [of Christ’s return] is almost here. So let us fling away the works of darkness and put on the [full] armor of light. 13Let us conduct ourselves properly and honorably as in the [light of] day, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual promiscuity and irresponsibility, not in quarreling and jealousy. 14But clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for [nor even think about gratifying] the flesh in regard to its improper desires.
      2 Corinthians 2:15
For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.
      1 Peter 1:9
for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
      Hebrews 10:39
We are not like those people who turn back and get destroyed. We will keep on having faith until we are finally saved.

While David Pawson may have shared his interpretation, it is always more important to focus on the words of Jesus Christ Himself. As Jesus said in John 6:40:
"And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I WILL raise him up at the last day." (KJV)

Much i agree, thats why I come here..
But i dont believe John 3:16 is teaching a condition for eternal life. The "believe in him" is an present participle. A participle acts as a cross between a verb and an adjective. In English we call it a verbal noun or gerund. Its not in an imperitive mood so its not directing us do something "to believe".
Rather in context John 3:14-16 is teaching why Jesus was sent and lifted up on the cross in death...so that those who believe in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Its very much the same as John 1:12 "those who believed in him he gave the authority to become sons of God". By his death and resurrection he gave them that authority.
Yes i agree on eternal security!

The fact there are many cases of the aorist tense of believe having the same result of everlasting life shows that this tired idea that the present particle indicates ongoing belief is wrong. @@freegraceau the point is that to "believe in him" is not something we are being commanded to do as a condition to have eternal life. Salvation is NOT a contract but a covenant.
What John 3:16 actually teaches is that by "the Son Man being lifted up" (his death) those who already believe in him shall not perish but have everlasting life. The emphasis is upon what has happened to Jesus not what we must do.
      It is a important difference.
Sure maybe there are some other verse that teach what Free Grace is saying....but John 3:16 isn't one.

@ Covenant, whether land grant or suzerain treaty are definitionally contracts.
Until Jesus revealed himself OT saints believed in the coming messiah for everlasting life. It is true that Jesus was lifted up so that those who believed would indeed have eternal life. The condition that Jesus contemporaries and those in the future are to believe for everlasting life is presented tens of times throughout John’s Gospel. The purpose statement uses the aorist indicating it’s written to unbelievers not “those who’ve already believed’.

The demons believe but are not saved. Though we are not saved by works, true faith causes works. Because works are the evidence faith is real. Faith without works is dead. This is dangerous teaching as you are teaching faith without works creating dead faith. The entire bible old and new testiment clearly teach repentance as the way to salvation. It was actually Jesus's idea to put salvation and discipleship together. In fact nowhere does Jesus say IF you are a believer its optional IF you want to be a disciple.
A believer and discipleship are mutually inclusive.
    Matthew 16:24
Then Jesus said to his disciples,
“Whoever wants to be my disciple/follower/Christian must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.

    Matthew 28:19
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
    John 12:25-26
Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.
26Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.
    Luke 9:23-26
Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. 24For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. 25What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self? 26Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.
    Luke 14:27-35
And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.
28 Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have
enough money to complete it? 29For if you lay the foundation and are not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule you30saying, ‘This person began to build and wasn’t able to finish.’
31“Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Won’t he first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand? 32If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms of peace. 33In the same way, those of you who do not give up everything you have cannot be my disciples.
34“Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? 35It is fit neither for the soil nor for
