    I feed mine avocado trees alaskan fish emulsion and kelp seaweed every other week and this year has grown over 4’ .

    Fish Emulsion is great tip.
    I find that a spray bottle works better for foliar feeding small trees.

      I tried misting it on, but sometimes there a chunks that get stuck, so I pour it over the leaves.

    If you own a fish tank just pour a litre or so over your plants amazing results and its free!

    great tip, i will have to try it out! have you used this on your mango too? i see from the bottle it is good for all plants. i know you likely don’t have this problem, but can you please do a video on what to do if you get mites or other issues with your trees?

    Intriguing, I was under the impression avocado leaves didn't absorb foliar sprays too well. But the results speak for themselves

      I’ve heard both but I think my little experiments prove to me that it helps. I just hope to pass my experiences along.

      Just make sure you do it at sundown. Good growing

      I am in central California and they are hard to grow here..look at my videos its a fight lol. In northern California like Redding or such I would not try it unless its the most hardy and you need to baby it to survive.

      They would need more attention and a cover type to survive up there.

    Great show ! We I have 2 small 2 year old grafted read trees when can I expect fruit ?? And why are all the leaf tips turning brown???

      They should flower next year, holding fruit depends how strong the trunk and limbs are. The leaves turn brown and drop every year.

    Interesting. Seems like a pump sprayer would be more efficient. Better coverage and less waste.

    Gary matsuka from "Garys best gardening mentioned" that spraying sugar water to avacado leaves promotes growth. He also mentioned that spraying sugar water on flowers attracted bees. he mentioned that spraying sugar water promoted photo synthesis. What is your opinion sir? ty

      Bought 3 Gems from ADAM Tropical at the Temecula Farmers market, one 5 gal and two 15 gal. Great trees. Poway CA. Hope they will make it through the winter's frost.

    Do you know that avocado leaves tea is very delicious? Put 4/5 avocado leaves in one liter of water then boil.
    This tea is also a natural medicine for diarrhea. I keep avocado tree here in Italy only for this purpose ( if I can't have fruits, I am happy with the leaves)

      Only those trees whose leaves taste like anise (Mexican varieties). I think Julie Frink talks about this in one of her videos

      I have but this does the same thing and is faster when I do it. Watch for a new video on an atomizer I’m going to try.

    Have you done a control test with the fish emulsion yet? What is the ingredient in Heavy 16?

      I have been using fish emulsion on the leaves for years. I did the Hass tree with the Heavy 16 foliar to see what it would do compared to fish food. It’s still a lot cheaper to use the fish emulsion

      I do it about once every 3 weeks. It is smelly that night but will be better in the morning.

    Can the hass in the 15 gall give avocado? Or too small of a container?

      Yes it can. You will have to keep it watered and fertilized but you will need to plant it after a year or two

    The last thin tree there are so many flower...How old tree is it?

      That is a Reed avocado and it’s been in ground about 8 months. It’s probably 2 years old I would guess.

      In the summer I don’t use it as often. Once a month in the evenings only. In spring I use it like once a week. Not at all in the fall and winter.

      The short answer is no. But, it “can” improve pollination according to some studies. In So. California it’s not necessary

      I like to pour. The excess gets to the roots where it absorbs better too. Using all the angles

      Jeb Trillio not as much during the heat of summer. More often in the spring. I use the fish emulsion more on the roots during summer.

    Will fish emulsion make a potted avocado tree produce a lot more? Mine is about 6 feet including the 15 gallon pot and am told to expect only 5 avocados if left In pot. Would like more fruit. The roots are getting crowded in pot

      No I haven’t. The soil I use and make is a Ph neutral soil. I keep fertilizer to worn castings, citrus/avocado fertilizer water and fish emulsion

    dude you worse then me haha...I though I went avocado overboard, you have what 6 NEW varities lol. Yes i know i know its an addiction. I was about to do a similar video myself in a few weeks, look into "yucca" its basically an organic Surfactant and helps keep the liquid on the leaf. its cheap and works well. How many do you have now i have 14 all and all in various stages of life and death lol

      @@TheElsinoreGardener I would probably have alot more if i was by those specialty nurseries. I grab what i can from lowes or home depot thats about it, my nursery's dont even want to deal with them because of the death rate up here. (1 in 15 lives)

      I use Top Pot from Laguna Hills nursery and make my own sand heavier blend similar to it. Check out my last video on the soil blend I make.

      Kellogg's: ' Palm, Cactus & Citrus' is a good base start, add whatever, gravel, sand, peralite. This base is a good draining mixture. Good luck.

      No they will grow as much as I allow them to. I’ll prune them to a manageable size later on.
