Gena is a young mom in her 30’s and a military wife. She managed her constant neck pain through weekly chiropractic adjustments. She also had constant jaw tightness which had started since she had braces as a teenager when two upper teeth were removed to straighten her teeth. For several years she had constant headaches, migraines, and disturbed sleep resulting in fatigue. It was a struggle to get through the day with her many responsibilities as a mother of young children and a military wife.
The details of her diagnosis and phase 1 treatment through phase 2 orthodontic preparation were covered in Part 1 of her case history.
Part 2 covers the final results upon completion of Physiologic NeuroMuscular Dental Full Mouth Reconstruction treatment.
The role of FMR is to stabilize the optimal alignment of the jaw and neck achieved up to that point while also filling the gaps created with beautiful bonded porcelain restorations for long term. FMR option achieves optimal function and optimal beauty at the least amount of time.
Physiologic NeuroMuscular Dental Full Mouth Reconstruction treatment is a very precise process. Once all the teeth are moved to optimal position to allow room optimal tongue function, airway and optimal posture, then that jaw alignment position is captured on digital models and relationship recorded.
The dental laboratory we have partnered with for over 20 years has to be equally dedicated to accuracy and precision to create the "digital waxup" of what the teeth would look like in the porcelain restorations and create the stents needed for bite transfer as well as for creating provisional “trial smile”. Our job in preparing all 28 teeth in one sitting while maintaining the relationship is not easy but we have done that for 20 years.
The laboratory then creates 28 beautiful and precisely fitting restorations which are all delivered in one visit also. All that translates to a fee that is not inexpensive for most people’s budgets.
How did Gena and her family make the decision that spending the funds equivalent to buying a nice car for FMR treatment? They saw that as an investment in lifetime of health.
So many of the symptoms for which Gena had sought help for, often ended up in pain management, not actually identifying or solving the root causes of her symptoms. She explains how her parents offered to give part of her inheritance now rather than at a later stage in her life, perhaps after they passed. They get to see Gena benefit now as well as her young family from better health and living pain free life.
No one can put a dollar figure on what quality of life without pain is worth in one’s life, except the person whose quality of life is diminished by the chronic health symptoms. A beautiful smile that she can be proud of, is just a bonus!
