  • TMJ sufferers usually have neck alignment problems as well. Keeping cervical spine loose can minimize TMJ symptoms.
Do these in order, 3 repetitions each, 3 times a day - as soon as you wake up, middle of the day, and before bedtime. Breathe slowly through nose, lips together, tongue in the palate, teeth slightly apart, and do these movements much slower than I am demonstrating them here due to time constraints.
These 6 yoga based neck stretches done in that order shown are perfectly congruent with the anatomy of cervical joints.
    1. "Yes" stretch mobilizes C0 / C1 between the occiput at the bottom of the skull and Atlas.
2."No" stretch mobilizes C1/ C2 between Atlas and Axis
    3. "Peacock" is a series of movements in a horizontal plane that mobilizes the lower cervical spine.
    4. "Turtle" movement is like a turtle that protrudes and retracts its head from its shell also mobilizes the lower cervical
5 & 6. "Orbit" clockwise and counterclockwise movements mobilize the entire cervical spine.

Is it safe for patients with non reducing anterior disc displacement to do these exercises?
