I just realized this is the second time this show actively killed Hope and made her father a bad guy, and also the FOURTH death of Vision in the MCU
4,5 deaths if you include when he left the hexagon :D
I wouldn’t necessarily call Hank a bad guy in this episode, rather a victim of unfortunate circumstances. There’s no way for them to know Janet would be like that when they got there
@@humanoid251 maybe not a bad guy, but absolutely the one responsible, again
@@merchillio And once again, Hope is responsible, in a way. First, she joined SHIELD because of her mother. Then she wanted to save her mother from the quantum realm. (Not that it's her fault, just, she´s there.)
@@humanoid251 They were talking about the one where Hank killed the avengers.
I'm so happy they added the realism of that if Cap's shield got thrown like that at someone they'd literally just split in half
If Thor threw that shield it would go through multiple bodies.
@@hamhockbeans I mean thor and cap could prob throw it just as hard as each other
@@GoodSirMori Lol thor and cap are not on the same strength level cmon now
@@GoodSirMori Yeah if Cap is holding Mjollnir in the other hand.
Yeah like, in Age of Ultron he split in half the Ultron robots with shild throwing
Thanos - "make half the population of the universe disappear with a snap "
Zombie Thanos - "MORE POPULATION!!"
With salt n pepper!
Ha!
@@orcasin112 so youtube wanted to translate that…
It translated it to “He has!”
“You better not turn while you’re huge” The serenade when I died laughing. 🤣
SPOILER
I made it a duet and responded, “She’s gonna turn when she’s huge!”
Lol 😂 I was crying 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I lost it for like 10 minutes when Scott said "Wingardium Leviosa!"
Stupid Scott. Its LEVI-OH-SAH, not LEVIO-SAR .
The bit where black panther had bits chopped off to feed a zombie is reference to the original marvel zombies comic
There were ALOT of references to the original, not just the leg. the head in the jar was in the comics, and some of the infection methods were also in it.
That was the darkest part of this ep for me
@@capt.gigglepants1538 Eh they were a stretch. Tachalla was ripped straight from the page while the rest were kinda hinted at.
if by "reference" you mean literally what happens in the comic, then yes it's absolutely a reference. lol
Also reminded me of Bob's leg getting eaten by the Terminus folks in The Walking Dead
The line from Chadwick Boseman: "Death is not the end in my culture" hit so hard this episode. But as always great episode :)
That shit hit me hard, like proper tears
@@g0ne_girl_
Proper tears 😩
Every week : well that's the darkest episode yet.
Imagine dr strange breaking the universe not being the saddest thing we've seen.
Also, Peter's line of smiling for those who are gone was especially poignant for me this morning. We got news last night that my grandmother is losing her fight with cancer and we're saying our goodbyes this weekend. Maybe that's why it feels especially dark for me, but the tone seems to be getting more and more dark with each episode.
Still love this though.
I'm sorry about your grandmother my friend. May the peace of GOD be with you, & your family. May your wonderful memories of her help you through this trying time.
Blessings for you and your family.
I'm so sorry for your grandma
stay strong, sending love over there ❤️
Sending love to you and to your family❤️
I've always loved how Vision can both be endearing and a little bit scary at times - I think that's Paul Bettany's brilliance shining through
And to think he was told his days in movies were finished.. dude has literally transformed his whole career with one role
People dont seem to realize that even if Hope did get smaller, she could still use her suit as a zombie to grow big anyway, like Hank did to bite Steve. Whether she was small or huge it doesn't matter, she still had the suit.
She knew that. I think she should have broken the suit in some way.
@@johnyshadow that’s what we said. If she knew she was turning she should have taken the suit off so she wasn’t a danger to the survivors.
Of course then we wouldn’t have had the plot point of her sacrificing herself in redemption of being partly responsible for the zombie outbreak. Plus it was cool seeing a giant zombie.
Wasp passed out. Just like Ant Man did in Antman 2 after growing big. So she couldn't take off the suit or destroy it.
@@supremeio5930 She got infected the night before on the train though. She died after the train stopped in the morning.
But after she was infected she was sat in the train, knowing she was infected and turning while still wearing the Wasp suit. If she had turned while still on the train she would have infected everyone by shrinking.
@@JarlGrimmToys Did you miss the whole thing on the train where the OTHERS talk her into having HOPE for the cure. That is why she didn't take off the suit then.
My only singular issue with What If... is, I want more to all these stories. Like... keep going. I wish they were an hour.
These are SO fun and stark. Dang.
I was about to say that each episode of What If…? are one-shot, until I remember that main characters from the previous episodes will assemble. And the fact the writer wants to continue with Captain Carter’s story in future seasons.
When zombie Cap showed up I was expecting one of you to say “I can chew this all day.”
John on _The Reel Rejects_ did
After all these years, all these movies and TV shows, and they finally did it. The only thing I ever wanted from the MCU.
Bucky was naked.
Lmfao we just watched it(my 2nd time my gf's 1st time) and my lady literally said why they got Bucky so cute lmaoo
The way Adam said cheerfully/matter of factly: Oh, I’d murder ALL of you...but I’d be really sad about it. 😅😂💀
I’m with Adam regarding Zombies::: It’s the “shadow” of their former living selves that terrifies me… When they hold objects and attempt to use them, opening doors, it’s all just macabre in the best way.
Peter and Hope as younger brother/older sister was exactly what I needed.
Can we talk about how even as a zombie wanda knelt over vision's dead body. Again.
Michonne went all the way to a completely different franchise...and she's still fighting zombies. lol
I can see the pitch now,
Marvel: "Hey Danai, we want you to voice your character in an animated Marvel Series."
Danai: "Awesome, so what's it going to be about?"
Marvel: "Zombies..."
Danai: "Seriously?! Kill me now..."
Marvel:" No, that'll be later in the episode."
My son turned on the TV while I was taking the dog out and he came running out the door with this huge smile on his face yelling "it's zombies!! Dad! It's the zombies episode! It's here!!" And then giggled all the way back to the couch. If was so fun/scary/sad/great time with our boy.
Jeez, Hank Pym can't seem to catch a break in this series.
Like they said in the beginning, this is more of a proper Hank Pym lol cuz he's got some dark storylines
And everyone seems to forget that Pym said that overuse of the suits messes with one's head.
They must continue this storyline...I mean Zombie Thanos 😱
That was the only part of the episode that legitimately scared me and only because I saw how strong everyone else was zombified, but Thanos..... No thank you.
Thor needs to go for the head this time.
I would like them to put the real beginning of Marvel zombie
I wonder if the finale of the show is characters of all the different episodes teaming up to stop the zombie virus spreading throughout the multiverse, like the plots of several marvel zombies stories.
@TheJoeGreene Yep that was rude of me. My apologies. And as of now that comment is now down.
@@thehuntergaming6772 Goddamn it, now I'm curious. I watched plenty of trailers, but I didn't really pay that much attention.
.
Fucking spoiler prudes.
Part of me was like “hmm maybe they’ll let them have a happy ending this time since they lost so many people along the way”. But no. They’re literally bringing the last infinity stone right to zombie Thanos with a full gauntlet and that’s an ending that’s perfectly on brand for this show 😂
Spiderman could totally learn magic and become spider supreme.
My immediate thought when Hope got hurt and had the potential to turn was "why aren't they removing her from the suit so that, if she turns, she'd be far less of a threat?" I guess people in horror movies really don't think of the most obvious things.
I suppose so but she was turning slowly, and I'm not sure if she can go big without her suit (which if she didn't, they wouldn't have been able to pass through the field of zombies). I did think it was stupid she didn't become smaller though after she dropped them off.
12:47 It wouldn’t matter either way as it’s been shown that they can still use their tech when zombified.
14:10 Yeah… ya shouldn’t have jinxed it.
She could’ve shrunk back into the quantum realm tho, maybe she just didn’t have time
Yeah, big time.
The writers of this series are just so smart it's incredible
With all the plot holes...I wouldn't call them smart. But, considering how interesting the stories are in spite of that, I'd still consider them quite creatively clever.
.
For the record, I always consider magic and similar macguffins and plot devices to merely be useful plot holes. Black box events are always plot holes.
Finally an uncle Ben name drop took them long enough
Peter lost his parents his aunt, uncle, mr. stark, and happy damn man that hurts.
We’re not going to talk about Ant-Man head in a jar shouting “Wingardium Leviosa”? No? Really? Just me?
Laura Dern in Star Wars: The Last Jedi would say "pew" while firing her blaster. You can kind of see it in the take that made it into the film.
Also read that Ewan McGregor kept making the lightsaber noise while filming the prequel trilogy, which is awesome lol
Well you can’t blame them, I would do the same thing😂
Man, this zombie episode is really PG.
*Oya splits Falcon in half*
Never mind.
Both Falcon and Cap were split in half. Tony Stark and Wong were decapitated. The Dark Order and Doctor Strange were eaten by insects. Sharon was killed and eaten by Cap and we saw her lie on the floor, before exploding because of Hope. We saw Tchalla without one of his legs because Vision used him to feed Wanda and Scott Lang without his body...
Banner: "Who are you?"
Hope: "All that's left."
Hope. All they have left is hope.
I’m 3 seconds into the intro to this video and I’m gonna make my prediction now: Adam tears up as much as I did for this episode. Results in the comments.
Also, my big nerd moment was Scott’s “Wingardium Leviosa” line. I immediately argued with myself that it should be “Levicorpus” since he’s a person (or like 25% of a person)…lol
Ok, I was wrong. Wow.
Y'all have officially taken over as my favorite channel. You guys express your devotion and passion in the same way I do: teary-eyed with joy and thrill. Also, this is the 4th time I've watched this. Perfection!
So question for you two: Since a lot of Tony's suit was actually controlled first by Jarvis, but then by the updated Friday replacement, wouldn't the Friday AI be able to stop Tony from going on a kill spree? Or at least just refuse to do most of the Iron Man suit powers?
Also, shouldn't Hope have changed a lot sooner?
@@MrJturner74 it seems like you turn fastest when you're actually dead. Hope had a scratch, but was otherwise still healthy. I think all the other quick deaths were where the person was killed while being attacked (Happy, Black Order)
That's a really great question... Hmmm... could the lack of helmet be a contributing factor? Tony must not have had time to activate Friday when he was attacked. And since he doesn't have comms, he's basically operating the suit manually without Friday's help or instruction.
@@jeffquinz2118 yeah the AI was voice comms, but then I think everything else was via mind control, like how he kept reflowing the nanites during the Thanos fight
@@alexkramerblogs agreed.
If we don't get a part 2, I may cry real hard because that ending...wow.
It's actually quite realistic that hulk can't be infected since their teeth can't puncture the skin.
Out of all of the episodes, I feel this one needs a second part haha
I guess Thanos getting the Mind Stone in Wakanda is an absolute point in time xD
Yes but when Zombie Thanos snaps he will just demand BRAAIIINS.
Second part of Hope's plan, turn while giant sized to buy more time. That's a whole lot for zombies to eat, could take a while.
I can’t believe people were complaining about you guys joking. I love your jokes. It’s the reason I watch your channel. Keep it up!
A lot of people were complaining about the timing of the jokes not the jokes. During emotional beats of certain parts or constantly joking over the jokes in the episodes. Like they were auditioning for a stand up comedy show instead of reacting to the things they are watching.
I'd defiantly follow Okoye to get through this What If, she has....well... lets just say, experience in dealing with people of the zombie (walker) variety in an alternate universe ;)
OH MY GOD, you guys are hilarious!! Your facial reactions and jokes are incredibly entertaining. I think this is your best episode!! Bravo
How many goddamn times is Daddy Feige gonna make me watch Bucky fall to his "death". I DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH LONGER I CAN DO THIS MAN
This episode had some really poenient moments and some really dark moments. But it still kinda struck me as a little more of a fun episode than last week. Until the end. Freaking ominous! I needed part 2 of this yesterday.
I wished there was a cameo of Ash from Evil Dead like in the comics
I legit got really emotional at Hope's self-sacrifice
The mention of Uncle Ben for me.
That "Ah...biscuits..." made me laugh maybe harder than it should. You dudes are just swell.
Yes I’ve been waiting for this! 🙌🏼 This episode was even better than last week’s episode!! Loved it!! 🙌🏼
If What If... had a catch phrase then it would be, "Are we getting a part two of this?"
Bruh the way their expressions just dropped the moment it zoomed in on Hope's cut...
Just recently subscribed! I love your channel!
That conversation about empathy at the beginning killed me.
“I’d just be really sad about it” had me wheezing
I have this vision of Zombie!Thanos using the Reality Stone to turn other zombies back into humans whenever he gets hungry just so he can eat them.
"SHAMBLE THAT RUNWAY, MAMA" lmaooo omg my sides
I found a very ironic that they went to New Jersey and wandavision was based in New Jersey because when Vision bought the deed before infinity War that means they went to go move to New Jersey before the outbreak happened
Re: Blamming. In the early HP movies, Emma Watson was so obsessive that she memorized the entire script. In her scenes, she would mouth along with the other characters as they spoke. She got to hear, "Cut!" a lot.
Very Hermione thing to do lol.
Agreed with Jay; after this episode, I wanna see more Hope/Wasp in the live action MCU (outside the Ant-Man films).
Brilliant episode.
Scary, emotional & funny.
Been looking forward to your reactions :)
"Oof......that happened. " - The Watcher
Watcher is hunting for people to fight a multiversal threat - so imo he's going to pull heroes from doomed universes to do it.
Which part of "The Watcher watches but does not interfere" are people not getting?
@@kevjohn2006 How else do everyone get together in the "Avengers' pose" as seen in that one preview flash?
In the comics it was Wasp's head in a jar after Ant-Man bit it off. Deadpool also became Headpool and used a beanie hat to fly around. Marvel Zombies sure does love using disembodied heads as comedy relief. Headpool and Scott-In-a-Jar would make a great Marvel Team-Up, maybe even a DC crossover with Jarro the Boy Wonder.
That zombie chuck by wasp who said "ow" at the quinjet makes me think the zombies are sentient, but just a little hungry. Maybe it's time to cut the undead some slack.
I also love how they added some moments and references from the marvel zombie comics to the episode
Like black panther being cut up and given to zombies over time whoa that brought back some deep memories
Hearing them talk at the beginning reminded me of Jonathan Coulton's song 'Re Your Brains'
I knew that no matter how ridiculous the violence Adam always feels it, but I had not realized that his legendary empathy extended to zombies.
Could this be what leads the watcher to unite the “multivengers”? Zombie Thanos, after collecting the stones to propagate the virus. Could become a multiversal threat that causes The Watcher the him to scramble them together ?
If they follow comic rules the stones dont work outside their universe (Loki kind of confirmed this with the TVA having loads unused, though that might not be 100%). In addition, we have seen a clip of them fighting, and i wont say what it was for anyone who stumbles on this comment, but it wasnt zombies (though again, could be trailer trickery)
My only question is how the fuk do you let yourself get bit or whatever when you have 4 of the stone's, there should be no way your losing that fight. Unless he just doesn't know what zombies are and tries to fight them in close quarters.
Shamble that runway mamma is a hilarious line
Talking-head Scott as the comic relief is technically from the comics, except it happens to Deadpool.
I love that hard turn "Oh no no I would murder all of you.....I'm just really sad about it." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This series is really showing that IW/Endgame missed an opportunity with no having Strange's cape surging the Snap and becoming an Avenger.
The fact that the metahumans can use their powers, the turn is stupid quick, the zombies can somewhat retain their memories, (Wanda feeling sad for Vision and the Avengers still having their combat training and skills.) Black Panther specifically being used as spare food for a zombie, a human head in a container that is still alive and cured. These are all references to the OG Marvel Zombies Comics.
So, how many times has Vision died? I am starting to take it personally.
The amount of parallels between the Zombies comic line are awesome.
Just finished BlindWave's reaction, and now bouncing over here!
Same
Saaaame
I unsubbed Blindwave after years. I just got sick of Aaron's constant ignorance. He's the friggin worst/dumbest reactor in all of TH-cam.
I got here first, but I'm heading there now
Kind of sad to think this may be the only time that Chadwick’s Black Panther ever spoke to Ant Man and Vision.
At the end of the episode my son said "wait - if Thanos has the reality stone, why couldn't he turn them all to normal humans or something else before he got bit?"... Great point, kid.
Excellent point! But he might have gotten bit by one of the Black Order, as they're the only ones might get close to him unnoticed.
24:00 Laura Dern was saying “pew pew” when firing. They had to edit out the sound in post.
I hope we get a second part to this zombie episode in season 2
CAUSE I NEED IT BAD AFTER THAT HUGE CLIFFHANGER OF A ENDING
1 sheet in - expect to get some gals phone #, that's actually to the local library
2 sheets in - expect to get slapped
3 sheets in - surrender your car keys
4 sheets in - surrender your cell phone
5 sheets in - accept your clothes can never be worn again
Possibly my favorite line in all of Marvel media to date... Okoye to Scott... "Don't cry, you'll fog up your jar." 😂
I've been waiting since the first preview of Bucky throwing the shield back at Cap like in The Winter Soldier; And then the shield sliced him in the same spot where Cap caught it in the movie too!
shamble that runway, mama 💅🏽
Shamble that runway Mama! I swear...I lost it, I couldn't breathe from laughing so hard.
I liked this episode, but I feel like there was ALOT going on. I liked the group of people they had fighting together, and that Black Panther was an official Avenger.
I am curious as to why Wasp didn’t bring the army of ants with them to the base.
Also, this is the first time in the MCU that Uncle Ben has been mentioned 😢
I loved this episode...not only was it faithful to the comic, but it hit on every Zombie troupe you could think of.😰
I can see that Cape Scott working as a figure if you mold the cape out of a plastic strong enough to support the weight of Scott's head jar.
The one thing I don't understand with this one is how did the zombies get into the nanosuits? They can withstand the vacuum of space and it took Thanos to tear off bits of Iron Man off. I find it surprising they got taken out as fast as the exposed ones.
The amount of Resident Evil homages in this episode is uncanny. The zombie head turning (stark) and the train scene, plus a boss fight at the tail of the train.
Watch "AAAAH! Zombies!", it's a low budget comedy about a group of zombies who think they have super powers and don't know they're dead.
Even if Hope had shrunk, it wouldn't have mattered when she turned. Did you not see Hank using pym particles as a zombie? And Wong using the sling ring or Iron Man using his weapons?
Did anyone notice the I am Legend nod with that establishing shot of Grand Central?
The remaining on the jet might wanna find some reinforcements like ALOT OF REINFORCEMENTS cuz they literally have to deal with thanos and his new army of zombies
I've been thinking this for awhile, but you two remind me of grown up Spanky and Alfalfa from 'Little Rascals'.
Possibly Janet went before being able to shrink.
And even if did, zombie-her might have grown and knocked or grabbed the jet out of the air before anybody could react.
Chances were probably the best of making it out with her waking turned and still giant just as our remaining heroes were leaving.
It's "three sheets to the wind" and it's a sailing reference
I feel Scott jar is sort of the zombie comics with deadpool zombie head on a stick chatting away, while someone navigates an escape.
"Guys I'm covered in Sharon teehee XD"
- Hope after exploding Sharon who was alive a few minutes ago
I loved this episode. The over the top violence was fun and the comedy was on point
