I have had the 2013 TX (J150), over all a nice ride. Commanding view on the road, nice ground clearance, Compared to the likes of ML350's and X5's, and it displays a 6.7km/l on the display for a normal urban cruise but seriously when buying such fuel economy ain't really a concern, maintenance cost is more friendly (friendly is relative- its still a Prado) compared to other vehicles on its class and its somewhat brutal on hilly terrain. You won't even notice you on a hill. And of course you don't have to worry about cops stopping you all the time (kenya yetu) The acceleration ain't as brutal, reaction feels a bit slow. Feels like forever to hit 100Kph, and that just a turn off. It's not the most stable car on the road. You can feel the car roll kicking you to the side on sharp corners. The suspension is okay but really not the best. But maybe its just me.
Great review Big Boy. The Prado is a beast, but I fail to understand why it's almost twice the price of the Fortuner, it's offroad stable mate. Is carrying the Land Cruiser nameplate alone enough to make that big difference? You should review the Fortuner. Big up!

Constructive criticism that I think would have made this a better review. .. distinguish the different prado models, price point on different prado models and value for money against competitor cars eg defender, discovery etc, highlight vehicle consumption/ range, too much use of pointless repetitive terms mheshimiwa, je ne sais quoi, don’t stand in front of car when highlighting the design lines, Get better terrain to highlight Offroad capabilities and off road modes, highlight its towing capacity, criticism/ not so good features of the vehicle, driving position, dated tech, no panoramic roof options, reserve tank and spare wheel, resale value, when the next model is coming out, visibility, service costs, warranty, cost of spares, different engines, I could go on and on..

True this is abit overpriced, but the Patrol is a thirsty beast, drove one last year for my boss, its range on a full tank is very very poor. If you get the patrol diesel version the better but last years petrol version will have you finding yourself at the filling station more than usual

The wheel is not always at the back; it’s an option. If you option for a reserve tank, then the spare wheel will be at the back of the vehicle. The second fuel tank (reserve tank) is underneath the car where the spare wheel would ordinarily go giving the car more range due to the extra fuel tank. If no reserve tank is optioned then the spare wheel is put underneath the car. Hope that makes sense.

This has always been my dream car followed by Ford Everest titanium and then the Audi SQ5 TDI

Fortuner is basically a Hilux so the suspension is harsh and firm although very good off-road.
