Getting the Steiger Panther III PTA 325 Started and Moved To a Better Place

- Hello everyone, and welcome to a new video. Since the ST starts and runs we are done working on it because it is ready to haul. We now focus our attention to the PTA, and use our newly resurrected ST to help clear a path for the PTA to exit from. The PTA took the same amount of treatment as the ST did, with needing some fuel in the tank as well as the new fuel filter.
When we got it started we were so happy and exited. Did you hear how awesome and smooth it sounded!!!! The hydraulic line that supplied hydraulic to the laser burst and we started loosing hydraulic fluid. That made the turning fail and we got stuck in the bushes. We replace that hose as well as the fuel line that was leaking just like the ST.
Those two Steiger's really are similar by blowing two hoses lol. We got the tractor all good and have it ready to bust the tires off which will be the next video. We are almost ready to haul this tractor too. Anyways thanks for watching I hope we see you in the next one!

The owner retired from farming and collected these tractors and wants to restore them. Most tractors there don’t run and have an issue or 2. The John deer has a bad trans, messed up injectors, and a hole in the roof. The previous owner is planing to restore the other tractors in the yard.
Thats a shame. Odds are nothing will get restored. Lucky you got those Steigers when you did! Hope you got gd tire budget! Lol

The 4640 is the one you should be after.
It is a cool tractor and I would love to have it but it’s more work than it’s worth. Besides the owner won’t sell it. He likes the John Deers. That one parked in the front of the PTA has a bad trans, messed up injectors, hole in the roof, and blown out tires. It’s not worth to save in our eyes.
The Steigers are a money pit, 💰 but you guys know what your getting into......good luck enjoyed the videos
If your going to haul those tractor's, why wouldn't you take the duals off and leave them off till you get them home? Just thinking of they are narrowed up they wouldn't be so wide to haul. Nice that you got both to run and move 👍
Just curious...did you watch the video? Specifically the part where they drove it up on blocks to remove the dual wheels for transport?
You have a good point but our buddy that is going to haul these said to leave them on, he has a pilot car :)

Do you fellows put fresh oil in those fencerow finds before you start them? Wouldn't want any antifreeze in the old oil.
The oil was fine, no antifreeze. We checked. I was thinking the same as you and so we made sure the oil was not bad.
What year are both of the Steiger's . I used to work at the Fargo manufacturer plant from the mid to the late seventy's did all the frist three point hitches institutions when they just getting started factory institutions !
I was also working there during the change from series II to III .
A lot of nicer changes in the three series .
What part of the country are you from ?
The PTA is a 1981 and the ST is a 1982. Thank you for your work in the Steiger plant. The series III are by far my favorite. We are located in California.

I can give out the location because it’s private property and the guy isn’t too keen on selling any tractors. The only reason he sold us the Steiger’s is because he knew we were going to restore them and he wanted to focus on the other smaller tractors. He wants to restore the other tractors.

He only sold us the Steiger’s because he wanted to focus on the smaller tractors like the high crop. I doub’t he would sell anything else.

That’s the guys collection. He loves those older smaller tractors. Most don’t run and need work, so now he will try to restore them.
