The production quality on these is so high. This channel should blow up. Cant wait to see the growth. Quality stuff literally every time i check my sub box. Keep up the great work.
I'm trying to share the Bonneville with all my friends, and you should too people. Best TH-cam channel about alcohol. Pure quality and true passion. Cheers!
Thank you so much for doing these, I have enjoyed your videos tremendously, not to mention the world-class education about my spirits, thank you so much!
That Scofflaw cocktail looks right up my alley. I'll try that one this weekend. Thanks for that recipe. 3:29 "Freshly squeezed pineapple juice" Hee hee... ri-iiiight...
Interesting that the Dubonnet only has TWO ingredients plus a garnish. I wonder how many other cocktails are that basic? I like the historical nature of these kinds of drinks. Whenever I have one, it makes me wonder what it was like to live (and party) back then. I get the same feeling whenever I have an El Presidente cocktail; a celebration of regime change.
Martini is typically two ingredients and a garnish, sometimes three, too often just one, rarely more complex though you can certainly complicate it all sorts of ways if you want to.
@@Quintinohthree Ha! That's an excellent point. Odd that I'd forget the Martini, since that's my cocktail of choice. Though, over the years I've modified mine to be more than just Gin+Vermouth. That's probably why I forgot about it. Here's my current recipe, which is a modified Vesper : VESPER LYND 1.50 oz GIN 1.50 oz VODKA 0.50 oz LILET BLANC 0.25 oz ST GERMAINE 1.00 twist of LEMON
@@stevegreedo5687 Hmm, St Germaine does take it a bit out of the well trodden martini path, but it'll do. In such relatively small quantities it's fine though. I haven't really found a liking for the martini, though it certainly looks beautiful if stirred.
@@Quintinohthree About a year ago I stopped into a cocktail bar and saw a Vesper Martini on their menu. I wanted to compare a "pro" version of that drink to the one I make at home so I ordered it. I recall it was crazy expensive, like 14 US bucks, but I never had one that I didn't personally make so I splurged. For some reason they put a ton of St Germaine in there and it completely overpowered everything else in the drink. I couldn't taste anything except for that floral elderflower flavor. They also used a lemon wedge instead of a twist, which felt odd. However, I saw the potential for adding some complexity to MY version of the Vesper, so on the way home I picked up a bottle (kind of expensive) and messed with the proportions until I found the spot where it compliments the drink instead of overpowering it. For me, it's just that tiny quarter ounce. But for you it might be different. Give it a shot if you've got some St Germaine on hand. Also, the bottle design for St Germaine is strange. It doesn't pour very well. So be prepared for a sticky side of the bottle.
If you ever make it to Vegas, don’t miss the speakeasy inside The Mob Museum. Lots of classic, prohibition era cocktails, not to mention a micro-distillery that makes moonshine. You probably should also make a stops at Carson Kitchen, The Velveteen Rabbit, and Herbs & Rye.
So glad you included the oft-forgotten Mary Pickford, but its origins had nothing to do with Prohibition. It started when Mary Pickford went to Cuba to make movies in 1911 to escape Thomas Edison's goons, who were trying to stop others from shooting movies in the US. The drink was created for her by a Cuban bartender.
There's the so called "submarine"-shot which is a shot glass within a whisky glass, the shot glass containing whisky or vodka and the whisky glass containing beer. Now you can make some slight twists on that and add some more ingredients f.e. I've tried the "Beer Buster" which adds a dash of tabasco sauce. But besides that I don't think beer is suitable for shaking or stirring, hence the lack of cocktails.
DracoRogue1218 I wouldn't exactly classify them as cocktails. But there are a lot of different beers that can be layered. Black and Tan Dark side of the moon Red Velvet
There are, but here are very little people being enthusiastic about them. Derrick from Common Man Cocktail likes to say "Beer is the Recipe", and he might be right with that. It's hard to find a beer that goes well with the other ingredients. Try a Shandy and Michelada for starters!
just gonna call the AA in advance, cause after watching this, i'll be needing it, alongside with a brand new liver :D this is just superb! keep it up, please!
Great video as always :D ! Just a question : for the Satan's Whiskers , can I replace Grand Marnier with Cointreau or that recipe NEEDS Grand Marnier ?
Try going with pure Cointreau first before trying to mix your own Grand Marnier. Grand Marnier is a good investment tho, it is a pleasure pure and is almost always used sparsely in cocktails, so a bottle will last you a while if you only use it for cocktails.
Whiskey Rita: 3/4 oz jalapeño infused simple syrup, 3/4 oz triple sec, 3/4 oz lime juice. 1/2 oz whiskey, 1.5 oz tequila. Hella easy but I'm new to the cocktail world.
god, I love this channel! are you guys going to consider a patreon because I want to help out the channel! also do you recommend any books about the history of cocktails
Ruben Van Rij oh simple fix. im in the same boat so every paycheck I get a bottle of something. i personally love rum because 20 bucks can get you a bottle but a lot of recepies require stuff like gin and vodka so just get those next paycheck. if you dont have a job or much capital but still want a drink get shooters there like a buck for a shot and its good for a drink or two
I just realized your Golden Dawn doesn't include Calvados. I understand there are several versions floating around, but I thought the Calvados version was the original.
sc bkkprep i commented coz of my situation..... he is the only one who can make me wait so bad for his next video..... never mind..... u cant get it..... u r too busy reading my comment.... bdw thanks for that...

The production quality on these is so high. This channel should blow up. Cant wait to see the growth. Quality stuff literally every time i check my sub box. Keep up the great work.
dat chill beats too.
What about "Around the World" Cocktails? Where the base spirits are less common spirit from different countries, like Chacaça, Pisco, Sake, etc.
I'm trying to share the Bonneville with all my friends, and you should too people. Best TH-cam channel about alcohol. Pure quality and true passion. Cheers!
love the new editing tricks!

finally the Mary Pickford, A drink that should be shaken.

I really like the rocks glasses you use! Where can i get them?
As always, great content :-)
Please make a video on drinks with egg white in them.
If you could add videos, teaching proper ways of cocktail mixing and what ratios to use to mix some great cocktails, that would be much appreciated.

Thank you for the video!
How about a Valentine's Day cocktails video?
(if that's even a thing haha)
Cheers!
Quality as always, loving theses videos. Truely informative, any chance we can get the recipes in the description?
i love the scofflaw too, you use way more grenadine than i do though. i'll have to try your recipe to see which version i like more.
Did i just see you on tv? Just on my way out, the tv was on and i could've sworn i saw you on some antiques program
2nd time i saw ur notification nd ran out of lecture hall..... superb stuff.....
Is there such a thing as "beer cocktails"? If so, could there be a video on them?
There are! Cocktails on tap is a great book about it!
I think the Black Velvet cocktail is champagne and stout.
DracoRogue1218 I wouldn't exactly classify them as cocktails. But there are a lot of different beers that can be layered.
Black and Tan
Dark side of the moon
Red Velvet

Gin and Dubonnet was supposedly the favourite cocktail of the late Queen Mother
i heard of a cocktail made with green tea, some Asian style cocktails (if there is such a thing) would be awesome and keep up the good work :)
Awesome channel! Just wondering where/what brand your rocks and highball glasses are from?
The intro to this video really ought to be "Our favorite Prohibition cocktails not covered in other videos." :)
just gonna call the AA in advance, cause after watching this, i'll be needing it, alongside with a brand new liver :D
this is just superb! keep it up, please!
Cocktails with orange juice!
It would be awesome if you guys made a "mocktail" video for everyone who can't have too much alcohol at the moment.
Just go with the Screwdriver.
5:02
So pleasant to watch.
Is there any particular reason that so many prohibition drinks seem to have grenadine in them?
Great video!
Since G&T is so popular these days, can we have your top 5 combination/variations? Keep up the good work guys.
Impressive
for reals though this channel is good shit
good barman
Great video as always :D !
Just a question : for the Satan's Whiskers , can I replace Grand Marnier with Cointreau or that recipe NEEDS Grand Marnier ?
You probably could, but Grand Marnier is a blend of Triple Sec and Cognac, while Cointreau is just a Triple Sec.
Kisk79 So , does it work if I pour Cointreau and Cognac ? ... :3
I honestly have no idea. It probably wouldn't, since it's distilled, but try it and see if you like the taste.
Yeah I'm gonna try it , thank you sir ! ;)
Try going with pure Cointreau first before trying to mix your own Grand Marnier. Grand Marnier is a good investment tho, it is a pleasure pure and is almost always used sparsely in cocktails, so a bottle will last you a while if you only use it for cocktails.
which rocksglasses do you use?
can we get some jagermeister cocktails please....
there is no good quality video of it online.....
Palak Rajwadi its more of a shot drink, I like jager but I don't expect to see much of it on these cocktail channels.
Doltish Dan you’d be surprised how nice it is mixed into a cocktail, gets a bad rep because people take shots of it
There are some drinks on their website like Jäger-Tonic. You could just substitute and try stuff out...
Lol
Whiskey Rita: 3/4 oz jalapeño infused simple syrup, 3/4 oz triple sec, 3/4 oz lime juice. 1/2 oz whiskey, 1.5 oz tequila.
Hella easy but I'm new to the cocktail world.
god, I love this channel!
are you guys going to consider a patreon because I want to help out the channel!
also do you recommend any books about the history of cocktails
INTENSEPORGRAM read Imbibe by David Wondrich. It's an awesome history/cocktail book.
As a poor student I don't have the budget to buy all these kinds of liquor... :( Maybe you could do a video about relative cheap but good cocktails?
Ruben Van Rij oh simple fix. im in the same boat so every paycheck I get a bottle of something. i personally love rum because 20 bucks can get you a bottle but a lot of recepies require stuff like gin and vodka so just get those next paycheck. if you dont have a job or much capital but still want a drink get shooters there like a buck for a shot and its good for a drink or two
Can there be 'wine cocktails'?
sc bkkprep look at their vermouth and champagne cocktail videos :)
What about subscribers cocktail volume. 2?
I just realized your Golden Dawn doesn't include Calvados. I understand there are several versions floating around, but I thought the Calvados version was the original.

Dumb question: what is the name of the gentleman in the videos? I've watched them all and never caught his name.
Ruairi Gilles, thanks for watching!
Is it just me or are half of the cocktails he makes all red double strained with an orange zest
prohibition must have hit the tourist industry however it was. unthinkable now
somehow u made satan's whiskers more interesting.....
What I want to know is what happens to all these cocktails you guys make. Do you just have a small party after every video?
What about a boozy cocktail video? Recipes that either call for an above normal quantity of alcohol or call for just different types of alcohol
Long Island Iced Tea
This channel is aging like wine!
