I think your biggest mistake was to believe in an inerrant, literal bible and so while you mean well, what you have written above merely represents just another day in incarcerated Evangelicalism. And for what it's worth: God came to save ALL and it happened long before the cross. The cross was murder. One last point. Assuming you are an evangelical who believes that one must ask God into our hearts to be saved: Is that not salvation upon human endeavour? One makes the "decision" to pray the sinner's prayer. If this is the case, then who is doing the saving? You or God? This along with a multitude of well thought out opinions stemming from many respected contemporary theologians is why I will never agree with your post and I will never agree with the stance evangelical / fundamental Christianity has on homosexuals. Jesus Christ is King I think you're missing the point. Bobby begged god not to make him gay and remained gay anyway. Nobody is claiming that this proves being gay is fine. The argument is that it proves being gay is not a choice. Bobby made a choice not to be gay and it made no difference because being gay is NOT a choice. Whether or not homosexuality is okay is a different question - and one on which you and I would definitely disagree, so I'm not interested in debating it with you.
