    For a long time now, really big People Carriers have really had to be based on mid-sized vans. But here's one, Volkswagen's Multivan, that isn't. Yes, even though it's called a 'Multivan'. If you're not confused yet, you might be by the time you take on board the fact that Volkswagen has three models filling this space in the market. Apart from this one, an MPV version of the Transporter T6 van is still available, the Transporter Shuttle, for those wanting a basic old school minibus. Those of a more futuristic mind set meanwhile, can ask their dealer about the all-electric I.D Buzz, which is also roughly the same size.
    But we're here to talk about the Multivan, which is the replacement for the long-running Caravelle, the change of name designating both the reinvention of this model and the fact that it no longer shares its engineering with the Transporter van. Instead, this seven-seat model gets the extended version of Volkswagen's familiar MQB platform, as used by larger group SUVs like the Volkswagen Tiguan and the Skoda Kodiaq.

    This is by far the most comprehensive and informative review of the VW Multivan T7. Thank you

    a great review, and one that actually talks about ride quality and tyre noise which sets this apart. That moving centre console can be put in your garden. I wonder if the gap between the front seats is enough to walk through. I also miss the classic VW steel wheels which I think look more rugged than these kerb scrawping alloys.

    The long version does not have a longer wheelbase. It just has a longer overhang, which is why the turning circle is the same, kerb to kerb.

    I have a Proace Verso and I am thinking about changing it to one of these. The Proace is the same car as the Traveller and the Citeron you mentioned. Its fine and has 8 seats but and its a big pain for me is the back 2 rows of seats are in a 2 and 1 configuration. So basically you can't take the middle seats out. It makes getting in and out of the back row annoying. This multivan solves that issue.

    Misleading - you cannot rotate the second row seats in the seven-seat variant.

      Might be not available at the moment but there is a 7 seater with so called vis-a-vis option here in Germany. So I guess it will be available in other countries in the future.

      Yet the 2017 multivan had rotating second row directors’ chairs?

    The multivan hybrid version is the worst piece of garbage i have ever used. Now granted it was a service van we used as wind turbine technicians in northern Europe and not as a family van, which is what it is...I'd like a word with the guy responsible for providing us with a fucking multivan

    • @aafgahfah
      @aafgahfah ปีที่แล้ว

      why was it garbage?

      @@aafgahfah Gearbox broke down after only 8000km. Overly complex and annoying user interface. Drving "assistant" that physically impede your driving, especially wonderful on slippery winter roads. It makes constant beeping noices. When taking turns the view of the road is blocked by the window frames on the side. Range of the hybrid version is very bad imo. 530km with charge and 500km without. The engines sounds like a sewing machine and is rather underpowered. The gear shift knob/button thing is a shitty design. Overall just weird and bad design choices.
      But then again it's not really intended for our purposes but it was the car that was given to us and there wasn't really an option.

      @@linusdn2777 i really appreciate your response. i’m considering it for a family purchase but might just get the 2.0 TSI instead. I test drive the PHEV and also though the engine sounded strained. Maybe the bigger one will be better. Your other criticisms are also giving me food for thought!
