Imagine being a 500, and your opponent is taking a really long time to move so you think you've got them but in reality, you're playing Grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura, and he's taking so long because he's entertaining his Twitch chat.
This is so entertaining, watching Hikaru playing against my people, knowing how much I would be thinking on the next move, and just seeing him chatting it up, paying 5% attention to the game.
We can't realize how amazing their play is, until we see them playing bullet and even hyperbullet without any blunder, and still beating 2000+ players with a lot more time.
Well when you play 500s, they just straight up hang a piece about every 5th move, if not sooner. Sometimes it's their kings they hang. Going up the rating ladder is basically how often you blunder and how hard your blunders are to spot and punish.
well the speedrun is supposed to be for content. i dont think i would watch a stream where a chess player would go for scholars mate every game, even if it was hikaru or like magnus
I actually don't think that would work.. I only started playing chess a couple of months ago, was pretty sure I could cheese the 600's with that (its where you start) but it never worked.
Hikaru speedruns are the greatest content especially tricks only and legendary openings. Ive watched the whole legendary openings playlist like 3 times lol

You never lose the GM title unless you're caught cheating or somehow break the rules. There are ~1700 of them A super GM is a GM who currently has an elo above 2700. There are 38

I found this explanation online "Contrary to popular belief, you only need two or more norms to achieve the GM title, but these norms must be achieved over the course of at least 27 games." So if you got 2 norms from regular 9-round tournaments, you'd have the required norms, but you'd only have played 18 games to get them, so you'd still need to get a third norm at another 9-round tournament to have the required game count, and that's why people talk about needing 3 norms. You could technically get a norm from a 13-round tournament and a norm from a 14-round tournament and become a GM with 2 norms, but it's rare

you are allowed to stream on YT if you're a Twitch Partner, you just can't do it at the same time, simultanously. you could stream on twitch monday wednesday friday, and tuesday thursday saturday on YT. the real reason is that it doesn't make much sense in terms of growing the brand

Hikaru can you do a video where you save lost positions? For example you play really bad for a couple moves, lose major pieces, have your opponent have a good position and then win? We could learn a lot from that :)

A lot of players at this elo play knight f6 after knight f3. I like to play Evan's gambit since it is fairly straightforward being a new player and afterwards I can focus on developing the center. But most people make the before mentioned move. I dont think they even realize it as an opening, just that they mirror what you just did.
We need an intro as good as the Bongcloud intro for this one. A Trix are for Kids theme might work 😄
