“Did the petrov suddenly become the meta for 600 rated players?” I heard this from a friend but if you don’t study any openings you will naturally gravitate towards petrovs defense to avoid blunders in the first 3 moves.
😂😂😂 i laughed my ass off He is also playing way to strategic for the 600 He could do the most stupid blunders and people wouldn’t realize I would have mated them way before
I noticed that there are a lot of smurf accounts in the 600’s. I have a smurf account too so I know lol. However, it’s rarer to see smurf accounts in the 500 and almost nonexistent in the 400s and below.
On football/soccer: the word football used to just describe a game which envolves kicking a ball. In England, the 2 most popular "footballs" were rugby football, named after where it was invented, and association football, named for the large, organised clubs that were forming at the time. Association football is a long phrase, so it was shortened to soccer. Rugby football was shortened to rugger at the time, and you can still see that phrase being used in really posh schools in the UK. When people moved to the US, they brought their language and culture with them, which hasn't changed over time as much as in the UK. That's why Americans use an archaic British term for association football. No troll, check wiki if you still don't believe.
Association football and American football were basically created at the same time. They're all based on a bunch of variations of games that had been around forever, and in the 1860's both sets of rules got formalized and people started organizing leagues and stuff, mostly colleges. They're contemporary sports and it's not weird at all that we both call them the same name and have other ways to specify the one that's popular elsewhere.
Actually yes the British DID create the term Soccer in the late 1800's to differentiate between Rugby Football and association football. The British then taught the US the term. The British stopped using the term something like 50ish years ago.
@@johnfredrickxo I tried but its not giving me all the effects, for example, I don't see special effects when a king is under check and no effects after winning a game (by both checkmate and resignation)
The word soccer comes from the "soc" in "association football" then the -er was added because the british like putting -er at the end of things (like fiver or tenner). Americans probably call it soccer bc football refers to american football. just be glad we dont call it "footer"
That first game was strange. Most definitely not a 674. I would say at a very minimum a 1300 or so, maybe even more. Might have been some kind of sandbagger.
He's kinda right about soccer. It wasn't originally called soccer but it was called "association football" or "soccer" for short. Britain only stopped calling it soccer in the last 30ish years
12:54 Negative, Soccer is a common shortened name for "association football"- which refers to football as it is known by everywhere but America and Australia (who use the short term 'soccer').
The word Soccer came from Britain about 200 years ago. People who played football belong to the Association of football, or shortly Assocers, but this word does not sound good so it was changed to Soccer. When Britain colonized America, they brought this game with them to the New World. Later in the US the game American Football progressed so they call Soccer to differentiate the two games. Fyi, American football means the ball's length is equal a foot, not the foot as the body part.
"We don't care about soccer because we're not good at it." I think that's a human condition thing rather than a USA thing. Like other countries don't care about football or basketball etc. Also "Soccer" is a British term as in the ones who created it and passed it around through their empire. As far as the term "Football" goes there are multiple games from the British empire that were classified as "football games" such as association football (soccer), Gaelic football, rugby league football, rugby union football, gridiron football (American football) and Australian rules football. Obviously America adopted gridiron football so it carries the name football in America. Other countries took soccer or association football so it carries the name football in those countries.
