Empress Joy Jean: It's ok to cry. I still cry sometimes when I hear Here Comes the Sun, and I'm 73 years old now. I remember how it moved me when I first heard it when it first came out. A timeless classic. Let's be grateful for The Beatles. They brought some real sunshine to our sad world.
One of my favorite songs ever to listen to in a saddened mood is Here Comes the Sun! It always puts me in a better, positive and uplifting mood! It’s a beautiful song! And a double Beatles reaction! The second song makes me think of the past people and experiences I’ve had that shaped me. Empress you rock!!
Your reaction is both unique (to you) and what so many others have felt listening to this song. As a young man my mother introduced me to The Beatles as it was her favorite group growing up. She had all these 45's and full length LPs and as a young musician and teenager, I felt like they were friends singing songs that reflected my struggles and joys. So glad you were able to listen, and I appreciate your openness @empressjoyjean !!! Blessings.
For Here Comes the Sun, George Harrison wrote this in Eric Clapton's garden using one of Clapton's acoustic guitars. When the Beatles' manager Brian Epstein died in 1967, the band had to handle more of their accounting and business affairs, which Harrison hated. He wrote "Here Comes The Sun" after attending a round of business meetings. This song was inspired by the long winters in England which Harrison thought went on forever. Too many songs in the Beatles catalog to recommend.
I am a 62 year old man. My sister who was 10 yrs older turned ne on to the Beatles at a very young age. I have dabbled in other genres, but the Beatles are still my favorite band to chill out to.
Even when I was a kid listening to In My Life. I always felt a sense of melancholy. The lyrics are so deep. It was like even as a kid I lived a lifetime listening to this and I could relate even then. This year I turn 55, and listening to this song again now I feel the same way. John Lennon was a genius.
In My Life This is an autobiographical song about John Lennon's life. He wrote most of the lyrics after being asked why a book he wrote, In His Own Write, revealed more about him than his songs did. The lyrics about friends refer to Stu Sutcliffe, an early Beatle and great friend of John's who died in 1962, and another friend named Pete Shotton. Lennon also thought of his Aunt Mimi and wife Cynthia, as well as other friends.
I was at a couple of weddings around 1969-71, and they both used Here Comes The Sun as the song that was played when the new couple came back down the aisle together after they were married. It was perfect for that!
Here comes the sun, George's voice and temperament is perfect. As you say, Empress, warm hug. Sometimes, in life, simple is better & The Beatles just always got it, spot on. Every time. The Beatles will never be surpassed. Thank you Empress, for picking such wonderful music❤❤
Well, not EVERY time. I can go the rest of my life without ever hearing Revolution #9 again and be quite happy. But given that they released 13 albums in 8 years, I think they can be forgiven for a stinker here and there.
“Harrison wrote the song in early 1969 at the country house of his friend Eric Clapton, where Harrison had chosen to play truant for the day to avoid attending a meeting at the Beatles' Apple Corps organisation. The lyric reflects his relief at the arrival of spring and the temporary respite he was experiencing from the band's business affairs.” - Wikipedia
A very English song, especially given the low grey skies which dominate the UK weather, sometimes for weeks on end. Loved your reaction to here comes the sun. :-) The Beatles diversity of styles changed modern music and created the modern music industry as we know it now.
The Beatles were known for the harmonies, positivity, and speaking about Peace and Love. 54 years after breaking up their music still resonates today. 😎✌️☮️❤️
I was in a Beatle's tribute band for 3 years. I was George Harrison. I had to learn like 45 songs in 2 weeks before my first gig. The Beatles are amazing. They were songwriting geniuses. John and Paul together were unstoppable. Thx for reacting to such an awesome musical talent.
Perfect two tunes. Most of the people I know and me confess and say In My Life has to be played at our funerals. It’s not morbid. We’ve Grown up with this tune and we love it to death
John wote the song in 1962 shortly after the death of Stuart Sutcliffe. The song is about his two closest friends, Stuart and Pete Shotton. John told Pete that this was the only song he had written that truly came from his heart.
Dear Empress, that’s exactly my reaction when I first heard their songs. Only difference is, I heard them all when they were first released. The Beatles are timeless. They speak across the generations as they have spoken to you now, & to me more than 50 years ago..
When you see the mixer desk at Abby road studios that they recorded with back then compared to what we have today you see how damn good they were as musicians. It sounds better than anything produced today because it's not so processed, it's pure raw sound. The fact that you often cry with music just shows what a beautiful human being you are. Modern music doesn't have that effect on us sweetheart. I'm a 60 year old Brit who's been a musician since I was 12 and certain music brings me to tears. ✌️♥️🇬🇧
Two beautiful songs there. Yep, In My Life was a Lennon number - a real heart warmer. He wrote it about the area he grew up in. Must've only been in his mid twenties at the time but he somehow conjures the nostalgic reminiscences of a gentleman in his much later years. Very mature song writing. These songs clearly stand the test of time.
Here comes the Sun…. A Beatles classic written and sung by George Harrison….. and an absolutely stunning song by John Lennon…. The Beautiful In My Life.
I've heard these songs a million times and watching you tear up at 'Here Comes The Sun' made me cry myself. The Beatles are truly amazing. Such incredible musical that will span the world and generations.
Two of my favorite songs. "Here Comes the Sun" was the first song my eldest daughter heard after being born. I played it on the drive home from the hospital. I wanted a wonderful first impression of the world. "In My Life" is my favorite song, not just by the Beatles, but of all Rock music. It ranks right up with Beethoven's "Ode to Joy".
I understand your feeling. I’ve been feeling down. But just seeing your reaction and the video and lyrics. Made me realize. The sun will come up tomorrow.
Thanks for the double feature. It was nice to hear from early Beatles, In My Life, and near the end with Here Comes the Sun. I was on my way 5o see your reaction to Paradise By The Dashboard Light, when I saw this. Just popped in for a quick visit.
I had just listened to another reaction channel, playing a song we chose for our mother's funeral. This one played automatically immediately after. The other song we played at the funeral was In My Life. Serendipity,
The best there was the best there is the best there ever will be
He says cheer up little darling.
George Harrison is something special..... Rytmic, chord progression, lyrics...... just amazing
For three guys in the one band to be ..
Just to be
Yes he was always my favorite Beatle rip George
Here Comes the Sun is one of the greatest songs of the 20th C.
Absolutely spot on my friend
Of any century!
It would have to be in the top 50 of all genres. The Beatles individually and together would be well represented in such a list.

A beautiful song that reaches deep into your emotions, such is the genius of The Beatles.
It evokes emotions because they make you feel like they wrote and played it just for you.
The Beatles wrote so much uplifting music that is good for the soul ... little wonder they've been called the best band in the world by so many. 💕💕
The world needs more people like you.
Real music with none of the plastic garbage of the last 20 ish years. Your reaction was priceless and beautiful , and for that I thank you.

All Things Must Pass is my got song when I'm meloncholy, but Here Comes The Sun is my favourite song by George.

Whenever I'm sad this is my motivator

Despite the baby crying in the background I thought your video response to your chosen Beatles’ songs was focused and definitive.
In My Life - one of the greatest reflective songs. The lyrics certainly make me think.

ohh my God, when you look direktly into the camera at around 5:40.. i felt you looked deep deep into my soul, you are so beautiful
Love seeing music touch someone emotionally! That's how it should be.
You Never Disappoint My Dear Empress, You Discovering all The Beatles have to offer is so wonderful to watch.

Best Beatles song written by George Harrison. While my guitar gently weep. A masterpiece.
The Beatles are on another level. Period. It’s them, then everyone else. And it’s not close
Real music, as all beatles music
Best thing about the Beatles you never knew what to expect every song so different but all hits almost not human
