it looks like it would make sense, as their first "new" 40xx family now they just need to update the soc so they can make you buy it gain.
I love my RG35XX H. For its price, nothing beats it for PS1 and below emulation. Dreamcast is actually pretty good too, along with many PSP games. But if I didn't already own that device, I'd seriously consider getting the RG40XX H, as that bigger screen is much easier on the eyes. I'll also add that Portmaster games run surprisingly well on these H700 devices.
do you ever run into problems with the digital triggers?
i'm worried them not being analog will mess with some games, but i'm not sure how many games utilized analog triggers
I never had problems with it.
i wish they did the cube but in the 4:3 4inch screen.
$70 for the standard release and $100 for the one with the extra 256GB is not bad at all for this price. I might actually consider getting this one.
You can buy a retroid pocket 3 plus for that price , a way stronger handheld

@@EliasPfaiffer the trimui smart pro triggers are small and kinda weird feeling while this one have a good controls
And not a single word about thermal issues on this device. It gets pretty hot when playing SNES games and beyond.
I got the Cube yesterday. It's a lot more expensive, but I think it was the right fit for me.
I ordered this and look forward to it. It is emulator number 35 for me. Lol
This will be my first one I decided to go with $100 price mark. Play it for a year or so then probably upgrade to a stronger handheld if I enjoy it!

Ever since I experienced the Onion OS I stopped wanting anything in this market that doesn't run it. A MM+ for low end emulation, a Steam Deck or ROG Ally for high end emulation and AAA, and a Switch Lite. I'm fully covered.

you need to include a dedicated winlator emulation test in Android devices
This soc should be able to run Android though, I do imagine they kept cost down with no wireless and thus not good for Android, but for the price I'd rather go up a bit and get an Android handheld, just got my retroid pocket 2s and I'm loving it

They should move on from the H700 chipset (and the 480p resolution), it's getting old and very limited. And a 6 button layout and a front camera would be awesome.
The RG Arc has 6 buttons and Sega style Dpad.
Something I don't understand of these devices... do they come ready installed with emulators? content? I know emulators were always in a grey zone so i'm surprised if they sell them with content preloaded
Only with emulators. You supply the ROMs yourself
They come w/ poorly organized ROM collections. Best to delete them and upload the No-Intro sets off the Internet Archive.

Apologies if this has been covered already, but is this device able to run a PC emulator on it for old PC games?
There was already the RG35XX H. Same form factor, same dual joysticks and same chipset (same screen too?).

I just want something that can play PS3 games. Any suggestions?
A ps3. ps3 emulation is still not great unless you have a beast of a PC. No handheld is even close to playing ps3 games, I have an Odin 2 and its nowhere near ps3 emulation.

AMD handhelds start at £300.
PS3 probably have to wait for better software, none of the budget handhelds are an option, the steam deck probably is the cheapest one that will run PS3 but I bet a good chunk of games won't work or arent perfect, after that is your pick rog ally, legion go etc but cost goes up maybe the rog ally non extreme version is worth consider.

The Anbernic can play more N64, DreamCast, PSP games. The Trim UI caps at PS1 and the screen is way to big for 4:3 retro systems.

Anbernic should move on fromthis chipset now.
Anbernic has the worst analog sticks. Also I opened up my RG CUBE and found they had misplaced the thermal paste and the chips were mostly unpasted. I also had the infamous light bleed issue and Anbernic customer service was pretty poor.
Why have a Reasearch and Development department when you can just have your customers test your prototypes :'D..

It has an H700, same chipset as other retro handhelds and older devices, it can play up to psp and for 3d games you'll need auto frameskip and fps cheats enabled. It has portmaster though, you can play some native pc games on it like GTA 3 and Vice City.
@@AlmostIdiot1 If it can't do PS2 Games, like. What's the point. It does what my phone does, except it's a separate device. Potential Wasted. It's a cool doohickey, but that ain't enough to spend 100$ for something my Phone can do for same performance

like a 40$ mod to a PSP, to modernize the Motherboard is enough to make IT into a Emulation machine that can run PS2 PS1 and PSP Games no issue
So why shouldn't a thing based on Modern Hardware be unable to?
Like. My 110$ Phone, can emulate modded Java minecraft at 60fps, controls are a bit jank, but it works And that's a PHONE, it's not meant for this.
Why should a 100$ Thing specifically meant to Emulate Games, Be unable to do this?

The game collections are so poorly optimized that you won’t use them anyway. A lot of them are modded and aren’t the original game. Just delete them and move on.

this guy reviews devices like he has a gun pointed to his head from the company. Doesn't mention at all that this device is basicallly the same thing as 2 previous interations, I get it, you want the free devices to review to keep rolling in, but you have no integrity whatsoever
