Arc’teryx, "Alpha" Jackets - AR vs SV - ( 2023 line )

Arc’teryx -  most expensive $$$$ jackets - head to head……..  Also my personal opinion, which one is the best out of the two, and where would I put my money in the future.

Regarding the breathability differences, “denier” refers to the thickness of the thread strands (more specifically the weight of 9000m of the thread….thicker thread weighs more for a given length), so a lower denier fabric will have smaller threads making up the face material and the individual threads fit together tighter and have smaller gaps. Higher denier fabric (and so thicker material threads) will have larger gaps. The larger gaps will allow a greater amount of vapour through it compared with the smaller gaps of the lower denier fabric (referring to face material only, not the PTFE layer).

Thank you! I climb the White Mountains in New Hampshire. I do have the AR in blue but I’m scraping alot of boulders on the way up. I need a stronger material believe it or not. Going SV

more then likely availability- i've never met someone who personally likes an orange jacket lol but if you're concern is about being able to be spotted from a mile away, you get orange lol
