Hi Sam, Just listened on your episode with Josh Hall. Very inspiring and impressive. Jumped straight in your YT-channel and found gold right away. You have a new "follower"! Stay awesome. //Adam
If you’re referring to GBP Posts (now called Updates), absolutely. Here’s my strategy: Make a post introducing your biz pointing to the homepage Make a post for each service you offer and point it back to that service page Make a post about the founder pointing to the about page Rinse. Repeat. Don’t spend too much time on these, as they’re not big ranking factors. Focus on optimizing your GBP right, then focus on getting more, and better, and consistent reviews 💪
@@coltonp2045, definitely space it out!! I would do one per WEEK... maybe two per week when you're first getting started. Then I would settle into about every other week.
I received a notification that one of my GMB was suspended, but I can't find the email they sent me about it. I'm having trouble with the appeals process - I keep getting an error. I don't understand why it was suspended, and it's really frustrating. Maybe this GMP is my workaround. I was able to start a new profile on the maps steps you are describing. You might have a new subscriber should it work. Thank you for sharing! 😊
If you had reviews on your last profile, you should really try to get it unsuspended. Usually, there’s an error that you’re not seeing, or you’re not submitting enough evidence - trust me, I’ve done both!! 🤦♂️ Feel free to email me: sam@thencandesigns.com
@@thencandesigns I did have one review may have been before I changed the URL 4 years ago (WDS), but it was still showing. I changed my business address after watching your video yesterday. I had been getting calls from Google soliciting, and i wouldn't answer. I finally talked to them, and they said that with one of the 2 sites I have (where I saw the old review and pictures WDS) wasn't showing up in my area, customers couldn't find me. That gladly offered to charge me $300 to update it, so i ended the call. I can't recall if that site was already verified because I could change images and info. But my other website (GO2) was suspended, and both are found in Google Search if you know the company name, but I didn't have all the update options. Then, I noticed the suspended message. I offer this as a service stepped away for a while, and so much has changed. Trued outsourcing to others so called pros and got nothing in return. So I started researching on my own and getting reconnected
First off, anyone calling “from Google” that doesn’t ask a question like, “Are these your hours?” Is a scammer. IF THEY EVER ASK FOR MONEY, THEY ARE NOT GOOGLE. Sorry for yelling, that’s for future skimmers 😉 Gotcha. GBP management is good and a nice service to offer when things are going smoothly… and a true pain in the rear when it’s not. I’m away from my computer for a few days. Nudge me if you don’t hear back by Monday 🫡
@thencandesigns Yes it has been a pain. Yeah, that's why I ended the call. They call from different numbers out of PA but leave a toll-free number to call back on. Thanks, Sam. I'll keep you posted. 🔥💯
@thencandesigns Now, both websites require verification in the Google business profile manager. There Is a pencil icon to edit a camera to add photos and a get verified button. Haven't touched anything yet. I selected a photo that allowed me to upload another one, the others are still pending, and it's asking for a mailing address, so I am providing it so they will mail a postcard, I suppose. The business is home-based; hopefully, the address won't be public. And wouldn't you know the button for next isn't responding? If finally did now it's still asking for business video. SMH
Okay, you've watched the Beginner's Guide, now watch the Masterclass: th-cam.com/video/tY6zeUWuLIw/w-d-xo.html
My eyes have been blessed!! 😍😍 and my brain
Oh, you must be referring to Loaf 😆

Thanks, Adam!! If you ever have a question, feel free to free to drop it in the comments. I usually get back within a day or two.
I try to add additional categories for photography. They were rejected. Thoughts? Thanks.
What categories did you try adding? Were they the same as your competitors?
Just following up to see if you figured this out
Should you try to add keywords in the when adding an update In GMB?

@@thencandesigns Thank you do you recommend spacing the posts over a over couple days or all in one day?

Why keep your service area within a 2-hour radius? Just curious
Good question. That’s what Google recommends.
