Hey man i just bought a 8100 and i already have a gtx 1050 in in but is there a better card which can fit in there without the gtx 1050ti? Is a gtx 1650 low profile compactable or not? But this video helped me so much anyways😄
Yes, there is a "low profile" GTX 1650 like this: amzn.to/2SDHAHR They sell out fast so at the moment they are out of stock that is sold directly from Zotac; however, they sell it for $149 which is a good deal.
I put it in and it fit perfectly! Was a bit difficult at first but i tried again, but now my computer turns on but doesnt even connect to my monitor? Does anyone know why?
Honestly, at this point if you have 8000 series HP it may not be worth upgrading (maybe for old games). But, you can add a low profile gpu without upgrading psu. Something like this: amzn.to/3w1ZBmS
Great video, thanks. I installed a Geforce GT 1030 in HP Elite 8100. After installing drivers it now crashes when I turn it on with an error gdrv.sys. please help!

Hey, thanks for the video. I bought a GTX 1650 as per your link. It installed fine and I downloaded the drivers but its making the pc run at very low speeds. All other parts are the original 8200. Any ideas?
Usually when PC runs slow it's because something is being installed on it... like updates. Adding the video card should not cause this issue. @@henrykraynak596 It will probably run... but how well is the question. I would look at minimum specs required for that game and compare that card to GT 1030.
Most people don't have any issues running GTX 1050 on this system and i7 doesn't use a lot more power than i5 so no worries there. The way I see it, even if the PSU dies in one year time... it only costs about $30 or less to buy a new one.
Thank you for a quick answer! I have two more questions. 1) Does this motherboard support dual channel RAM ? 2) How is the airflow inside such a little case? Is upgrading the cooling fan recommended or a stock one can actually keep the temperatures sane and safe?
Sure thing, 1. It does support dual channel. 2. Cooling is pretty good. Stock fan appears to be fine. Also, an aftermarket cooling will not fit anyway. Not enough space.

Pretty sure the white pci slots are x8...the black slot is x16.
Great video! Thankx for the detail. Regarding the GTX 1050, can i use the boost clock 1442 MHz / 4GB instead of boost clock 1506 MHz / 2GB that you linked to...? Its for HP Elite 8300 SFF, Intel i5 3470 3.2GHz - 8GB/500GB HDD w/Win 10 pro. I've noticed the HDMI is 2.0b, same as my TV and AVR.
You can use either card although now I recommend GTX 1650 Amazon amzn.to/30TP8ZC as it's newer card.
lol this guy says "right" all the time!!!
Edit:Wow I've never been hearted!
You should watch my other videos... It's super rare, but I've been known to say "left" as well.
Right...
Which graphics card should I buy for "HP elitedesk 8300 SFF"?
The best one is GTX 1650 Low Profile like this: amzn.to/3d4Oz5q
@@Cobuman is there any way I can get a bigger cpu case and then get a GTX 1660 to work?
It's possible in a newer HP like G2 but have not tried on 8300. th-cam.com/video/C70nmtTFPuw/w-d-xo.html I don't think it will work because motherboard orientation is different.
@@Cobuman my question is that if I just get it to fit in a bigger cpu case , will the GTX 1660 run on it?
Hey thanks for the video! Just wanted to know, will a GTX 1070 1920's Cuda fit in a HP 8300 compaq elite? I was just wondering as I am upgrading soon. Thanks!
No, you would need a "low profile" card like GTX 1650: amzn.to/39UPjHi Standard size does not fit inside the PC.
very well explained thank you..whats the ram
What power adapter should I use to add external power to a graphics card? I got a 1050 for $60 and it needs the additional power.
How many pins does the card have?
This one is 6 or 8 pin adapter: amzn.to/35KFYRj
I believe only the long black slot is 16x. You can see under the white one that it says 1x despite the length.
The black one only works at 4x speed and idk about the white one but i would put it in black
Hi! i have a HP Compaq Elite 8100 CMT PC. trying to get a gtx 1050 ti. will it work? or i need to upgrade de PSU? since this card has a pci-e 6pins connector.
Yes, most people don't have any problems; but, I would recommend GTX 1650 Low Profile because it's much faster (about same cost) and this one does not require a 6pin power: amzn.to/2XJtRSw
Hi, the small factor GPU adapter is out of stock, could you link another, similar product. Thanks
Hi Thomas, did you mean this adapter: amzn.to/2Q9O9jl ? or the GPU itself: amzn.to/2FI6Dpi
@@Cobuman thanks for replying, I was talking about the adapter
@@TommyDRich It's in stock. Maybe not available in your country. Here is the closest alternative: amzn.to/3geJTK9
The adapter is something I made as prototype to gauge interest and there really isn't anything exactly like it.
@@Cobuman Thanks! The second adaptor is in stock. Also love your vids, keep up the great work!
Sorry to be a bother, but if I ordered a
GPU that needed connection to the power supply then what connector should I use (for a HP Compaq 8300 elite)
Very thorough and informative video; thank you!
My pleasure.
At 2:03 you said an adapter would be required if you needed a 6 pin power connector. Where can I find that adapter
Power adapter SATA to 6pin GPU: amzn.to/3meLmW3 (this may overload the power supply if GPU demanding extra power).
@@Cobuman thanks
@@isaiahgamble3075
Can I put the GT 1030 *SC* version in this same pc, I feel like it may be too long and bump the stock cpu cooler? Great video btw
Should be fine. Just make sure it's low profile like this; amzn.to/2ZEeiMW
cobuman that’s exactly what I wanted thanks man
what is the rating of your power supply? the same as the 240-300w PSU that comes with the Elite 8200 SFF?
240w.
@@Cobuman ah i see, the one that originally came with it then
Does fullsize GPU fit the Convertible MiniTower version?
What's the bracket size? I'm trying to find a gpu but I want to make sure I get the correct one with the correct bracket size so I don't accidentally purchase the wrong size
You know, of course, that the white PCI Express slot is 4x while the black on is 16x. You don't want to install a GPU in a 4x slot.
I also have that one in my home. And I want to upgrade it with a RX 550 lp VGA. Is it possible to do it? because I'm not sure if it's gonna fit in or not.
Cobuman : I own my HP Compaq Elite 8200 Pro sff Pc with i5-2400 Cpu + Evga Sc 16gb Ram + Crucial Mx300 ssd + Msi Gtx 1050 ti low profile Gpu since 2013 ( Replaced Gt 730 with Gtx 1050 ti = January 2016) Last Night my Pc Crashed & after aZillion hours I figured out the issue : My dual Channel B is the Colprate, I changed the sticks but still Crashes, Was wondering is there any Solutions that I've missed or is Replacing the Motherboard ( Slot issue ) my only Remedy 💬 Thanx for Posting 🎥

@@kaiju3646 Sure thing. I think it's more likely to be a bad ram stick; also, you can do a ram/memory test. This can be done at BIOS level when booting... Press Escape key to see the bios menu which should have Diagnostic option. I hope that help.

@@Cobuman thank you soo much im looking forward to buying it but will my 240 or 250 watt power suply accept it? or does it need a bigger power suply?
@@raikeycs6056 Most people don't have any problems using stock 240w.

Hello! Will a HP Compaq 8100 Elite SFF work with a Zotac GTX 1050 Ti Single Fan?
I put it in and it fit perfectly! Was a bit difficult at first but i tried again, but now my computer turns on but doesnt even connect to my monitor? Does anyone know why?
This may be a long time, but do I have to replace the standard psu if I add a gpu?
Honestly, at this point if you have 8000 series HP it may not be worth upgrading (maybe for old games). But, you can add a low profile gpu without upgrading psu. Something like this: amzn.to/3w1ZBmS
you put the video card in the black slot right?
Yes: th-cam.com/video/EDau98FCzaA/w-d-xo.html
Great video, thanks. I installed a Geforce GT 1030 in HP Elite 8100. After installing drivers it now crashes when I turn it on with an error gdrv.sys. please help!
That's a file that comes with Gigabyte. If possible boot to Safe Mode and uninstall any Gigabyte programs. This is how you boot to safe mode: th-cam.com/video/n42S3bJPbpA/w-d-xo.html
If you keep crashing... remove GT 1030 and then uninstall Gigabyte software. After that install GT 1030 back and use Windows drivers for video card.
@@Cobuman thank you! I'll try that first thing.
I have a HP Compaq 8200 Elite with Windows 7 Professional, I7V-Pro @3.4ghz (idk what it means?). 8GB RAM, no graphics card. I want to play games like fortnite and GTA5. Which one will work?
Any "low profile" GPU will work. For example this: amzn.to/2YhsxHB
what gpu did you put in it? looks like a low profile amd card, but that heatsink looks thick lol
How can i change this case to a gaming case i don't know what size is it
Hey, thanks for the video.
Open Task Manager and see what is running in the background that might cause this issue. Here is my video the shows why computer might runs slow: th-cam.com/video/VSy-AzG3yhs/w-d-xo.html
@@Cobuman Thanks. When i take the card our and reboot it runs normally again. Very strange. At one point the green power button on the front started flashing red and beeping while the card was installed. Overheating?
Hey can I take motherboard out and put it in a bigger case and use a better graphics card?
What graphics card for this computer would you recommend that doesnt require the external power source? I have the HP Elite 8100 and i need to install a graphics card in it. Thank You!!!
I recommend GTX 1650 Low Profile: amzn.to/2XtPnt7
@@Cobuman I guess the same would apply to the 8200?
@@mickangel3945 yep
Does the 1030 in the description come with the external power source?

Just a little push down if it's break you can't fix ^^ and there you go , my graphic card is broken
I know this is two years old, but what is the cheapest 2gb card that will fit in a compact 8200?

The two PCIe slots are not the same, the black one is the x16 slot and the white one is the x4 slot. The tiny black one next to it is an x1 slot.
You are correct. Thanks Dave!
would rx 570 4gb fit in a hp compaq 8200 elite small factor pc?

The best LP card that will fit is GTX 1650 like this: amzn.to/3ez19ZU
Hello, I have a msi 1050Ti gpu and I don't know how to take it out. Do I have to just grab it up with force? Help will be very appreciated :)

@@Cobuman thanks for the quick response! 😅
so for the graphics card can I just buy one that's labeled low profile? (I don't know much about building PCs and stuff
Yes, the best one to get is GTX 1650 low profile like this: amzn.to/3d9gK1C
If you need suggestion on cheaper graphics card let me know.
Depends what games you want to play. 1030 or 1050 low profile might be sufficient for your needs if money tight.
The white slot is a 4x slot it's just alike a 16x slot
Would the PSU be enough for 75watt card like GTX 1050 AND i7 CPU ? Or maybe i7 is pushing it a little too much?
Most people don't have any issues running GTX 1050 on this system and i7 doesn't use a lot more power than i5 so no worries there. The way I see it, even if the PSU dies in one year time... it only costs about $30 or less to buy a new one.
Thank you for a quick answer! I have two more questions.
1) Does this motherboard support dual channel RAM ?
2) How is the airflow inside such a little case? Is upgrading the cooling fan recommended or a stock one can actually keep the temperatures sane and safe?
Sure thing,
1. It does support dual channel.
2. Cooling is pretty good. Stock fan appears to be fine. Also, an aftermarket cooling will not fit anyway. Not enough space.
