The creators of this video perhaps minimize the economic significance of gaining control of the 4th biggest oil reserves in the world. Additionally 1million people perished when Iraq was invaded. Civilians and military were brutally annihilated. A bombing campaign called shock and awe that completely devastated Iraqi society. A perfect demolition job showcasing the most advanced war machinery available. This war ripped the heart out of the Iraqis. Reconstruction contracts were promised to Iraqi businesses. It never materialised. Instead American businesses secured reconstruction contracts, an election was organised leaving Iraq with an American friendly set of foreign policies. A 'democracy'. So shortsighted and morally bankrupt this move was, it has left an indelible stain on the fabric of Iraqi identity. The country has been violated in the most catastrophic way. Of course Saddam was a dictator. This fact suited US when they supported Iraq against Iran. These crimes committed by the west will surely never go unnoticed. Resistance to the hegemony is arriving through countries like Russia and China. That list of states is growing. The U.S. empire expansion has been vicious, relentless and unapologetic. Arrogance, self righteousness and corruption in full display. Repeatedly. This too shall pass. If the Chinese get it right, not a bullet needs to be fired. No-one wants another World War.
