This man is a Hero. He exposed the truth about US politics and politicians.

You might as well include the people who voted and continued to vote for these politicians because to me they contributed.
I don't know anything about this man since I haven't watched this yet but my statement would still stand because it would still be as valid as before coming to my opinion.

But he gained nothing. And nothing changed. Nothing at all. He exposed the government, and the only people who gained anything were the media.

You just make a blanket statement like that and run with it. All I have to say is he was not and is not the only whistle blower of the NSA. We saw several whistle blower testify in front of congress about the agency spying on americans. why is it that Snowden was not there to testify. He was not there because instead of going through the proper channels he decided to post it on wiki leaks and expose it to the world. no no he is no hero and its sad that you think that way.

I think you're missing the point. There are more people than you realize that simply don't care as long as their lives are relatively good, and there are people who may care but realize the machine has plenty of closet supporters and is a gazillion times more coordinated, better funded and have virtually unlimited resources, they are making a pragmatic decision

So the greatest intel community never thought to cancel snowdens passport in Hong Kong. Seems to me the lookaway pass was the play of the moment. Snowden is in Russia, far away from a trial that was always going to shine the light on a government illegal involvement. A trial that would devide public opinion and i suspect garner an already growing ovation of support in Snowdens favour, not to mention the media scrutiny that would pick the eyes out of any soul who ever thought they might be involved in the governments shadowy behavior. Ed Snowden is the hot potato no one country wonted to hold. Me thinks the government played a smart game. Ed Snowden is savely locked away in Russia. No trial, no worries. Go back to sleep America, everything is just fine.

that’s exactly what happened. And exactly why he got away, on purpose.
If a Delta Team wanted him, they would have had him immediately. Letting him go was better for all involved. very unique set of circumstances.

Whistleblower defination: A whistleblower is a person who exposes information or activities within an organization that they believe to be illegal, unethical, or improper. This disclosure is typically made to authorities, regulators, or the public, with the aim of stopping harmful or unlawful practices.. The Whistleblower Protection Act (WPA) (5 U.S.C. § 2302(b)(8)) protects federal employees or applicants for federal employment from retaliation for making protected disclosures. The WPA also provides penalties for supervisors who retaliate against whistleblowers.

All US government employees have to swear the oath of office, to protect against enemies external and internal, Ed Snowdon is one of the few to take that oath seriously, he spoke out at great risk to himself, he should be a national hero, but when a country is run by criminals whistle blowers are persecuted, Julian Assange is another example

You have to ask what terrified him about what he was observing that he was courageous enough to ensure that the people of the world were aware of it, he sacrificed so much personally, so he’s a hero, and no attack or death has come from his disclosure and actions.
It’s easy to say well if you have nothing to hide what are you concerned about, but that is naive, what is acceptable today may not be acceptable tomorrow, and your information will be used against you!

Furthermore we have seen this time and time again with their amateur mistakes. The wrong middle name ffs. The Hong kong lady even emphasised how meticulous they were on details something learnt from the British no doubt when it was a British colony and the excellent Chinese intelligence training they would if recieved also. Yes they purposly let him go but the Americans gave them the opputunity to. Here in Germany we call FBI Federal bureau of Idiots. Always too late with bad intelligence. Look at 9/11.
