Shiva and Anima were my favorites. They looked so amazing. My other favorite was Yojimbo, but he hard for me to use, his play was a bit different I guess. Less slash and burn.
Yojimbo is a grinder since you have to make him like you. At max, he generally uses his offensives moves more. Of the Aeons, his base evasion is the highest so you generally use him on creatures with low accuracy (he makes fliers look like shit while dodging). Note that the magic number is 1024 gil which will give you the best cost to benefit ratio for making use Zanmato which will KO everything in the game.
This was my all time favorite final fantasy. I havent played the new ones yet but even then I'd still consider this one the best and it even had a good plot.
I love how the summons in this game are treated like actual characters and not just... glorified powerful spells like they usually are in Final Fantasy.

You would think that with all the power of the later consoles spells/summons would become even more grandiose in their attacks and graphics, but if you look at earlier titles for example FFIX has the most spectacular looking summon attacks and magic spells.
And I am one of those unlucky people who ended up failing to use Zanmato -.- I always ended up with one of his other attacks, usually getting me killed -.- lol that tricky bastard.
I've played this game before, but I've never gotten far enough to get Yojimbo. What's Zanmato? Is it like the most powerful attack an Aeon should have? Apparently it comes at random, but it can kill any monster?
Jake Groeblinghoff Zanmato is Yojimbo's One Hit Kill move but you gotta be lucky, I haven't played in a while but you offer him some money (aeon prostitution) and he'll use any random attack on the opponent :3
Sunny Bristowe I remember back then I was very desperate to kill one boss and I wanted Zanmato so badly, I wasn't sure if the amount of money I give to Yojimbo had a role to making it proc, so I gave him all the money I had and he didn't do it lol. another time I gave him 1 gold and he did it !! overall I was lucky that he did the move in around three critical fights. oh man those days sob sob.

Anyone who used Tidus normal attack while his HP are low knows the less hp he has the less dmg he does when he is equipped with his celestial. Besides if you custom a 4-slots sword and put this on it : 1 - Break Damage Limit - a must have of course 2 - Triple Overdrive - another must have 3 - Piercing - A must have because it bypass monster's armor bonus 4 - Evade and Counter - Great against any monsters Those above make Tidus way more dangerous at any time. Try it and see it yourself.
Replace piercing with magic counter. With BDL piercing isn't really necessary but I agree with the others. (Yes I know this comment is old) just liked to point this out.

You can go back to the temples and do the trials again to acquire the items that allow you to open Anima's chamber. Anima and The Magus Sisters have the same ability that Bahamut has, which allows them to break the HP damage limit, with time they get more powerful, but 99999 is the limit and If you acquire the characters' legenderary weapons, each one allows one of the other aeons to break the HP damage limit as well.
I love final fantasy x and part 2 because they are perfect and you get to see all the Aeons and how she also defeats them in part 2 even though they were there to protect her in part 1
One thing that is off is how to break the damage limits, you not only need to have the celestial weapon, but you also need to infuse it with its crest. I am pretty sure you need to, but then again, I might be wrong.
jim west You CAN retrieve the sigil around or even before the crest, but you need to infuse the weapon with the crest before the sigil. To break the damage limit with your Ixion, infuse the crest into the spirit lance.
Multiple hits are actually beneficial because of the damage limit. Once a big hit reaches 99,999, it can't do any more, so you'll want to divide the damage over multiple hits. That's why Wakka's overdrive was (if I recall correctly) the best out of them all.
You get this from the dog back in Besaid; First change to get it is when your team leaves to go to the ship to head for Kilika (right before you fight Kimahri) after the cutscene, go back in the village and search for the dog; should be by the shop keeper.
It bothers me how only 5 of the aeons are linked to the team in order to break their 9999 damage limit. I feel like Tidus should have been linked to Bahamut (due to all the relation he has with his fayth) and for Rikku they should have created another aeon, or maybe bring back one of previous FF, like Siren, and make it a water elemental, both because the game lacks one and because Rikku is all afraid of lightnings, which happens to oppose water in the game.
Magus sisters you have to beat belgimine at remiem temple Anima you had to unlock the 6 secret treasures in each temple where the seal appears .Then fight the monster at baaj ruins with just tidus,wakka and rikku then you go in the temple and get anima. You also had to get the secret treasure from zanakrand doing the puzzle So besaid,Killika,Djose,Macalania,Bevelle and zanakarand
You need to bless Masamune with Mars Crest and Mars Sigil at Macalania Woods in order for you to unlock the weapon's break damage limit, which then will allow Yojimbo to break damage as well.

I love this game I played it a lot I got p to the aeon bahamuth then when my family moved to this new house idk where the game went I was sadly, sadly stricken i tried to get it back I couldn't it in the store x.x tragic loss a lot of pl ikt hat got to yunas part where shes solo in the cavern area if I remember they have a hard time in it, it was a simple breeze for me shes got the best moves with the aeons
actually Yojimbo doesn't technically have a OVERDRIVE. all his skill's are influenced by his pay and you luck of the draw. the only thing his OVERDRIVE gauge does Is increase the chance he'll use Zamato.
They're kinda of a sidequest to get like Anima also this is the only game they appear as a summon. They appeared as enemies in Final Fantasy 4 but that's about it...
So how many ODs does each get/have? Noticed first one used 2. They have more to get but only focusing on their 'main' ones? ps Thumbs up if watched this LP on NCS :p
Strongest Overdrive - Yojimbo no question about this. I played this game when I was 7 years old and I sucked. I just couldnt defeat Sin, untill Yojimbo showed up and drew his sowrd... That bastard wasnt cheap, but in the end it paid off. ;)
