Chromatography- Chromatography is one of those simple but powerful techniques to separate the mixture into its individual component. Chromatography has two parts in its name- chrome- means colour and graphy means a visual identification. there are several types of chromatography like- (1) Paper chromatography (2) Thin layer chromatography (3) Ion exchange chromatography (4) HPLC- High-performance liquid chromatography. Thin-layer chromatography (TLC) is a chromatography technique used to separate non-volatile mixtures. Thin-layer chromatography is performed on a sheet of glass, plastic, or aluminium foil, which is coated with a thin layer of adsorbent material, usually silica gel, aluminium oxide (alumina), or cellulose. This layer of adsorbent is known as the stationary phase.
TLC plates, preferably ready made with a stationary phase: These are stable and chemically inert plates, where a thin layer of stationary phase is applied on its whole surface layer. The stationary phase on the plates is of uniform thickness and is in a fine particle size.
TLC Plate preparation consists of following steps-
1- Selection and cleaning of the glass plate for Thin-layer Chromatography (TLC)
2- Drying of plate Thin-layer Chromatography (TLC)
3- Making a slurry of silica gel and water Thin-layer Chromatography (TLC)
4- Transfering the slurry into a beaker
5- Transferring of slurry on a glass plate Thin-layer Chromatography (TLC)
6- Uniformly distribution of a slurry
7- Allow the slurry to dry at room temperature
8- Transfer the glass slide on the oven to make it dry
9- Dry and activate a glass plate Thin-layer Chromatography (TLC)
10- Use as per instruction Thin-layer Chromatography (TLC)

I am a dmlt student so your experiments helps me very much
Indian boy thank you
U did it in really explanatory way ......ur efforts are not directionless
Thank you
Excellent work ..Please make a detailed video on selection of solvent system for TLC.
Hira Bukhari Thank you. And sure we will try to make that video too.
Thanks for this great work
Simple and Superb Video Mam. Really Proud of Your Teaching Mam.
A very thank u mam amahala mahit navat jasa 🥲
App Marathi ho
Thank you so much for this video. Really very helpful.
Outstanding explain mam
very helpful video
Thank you mam🙏🙏🙏
thank you mam
Why we heat tlc plate in oven?
To activate it
Thank you. Please if i need prepare preparative thin layer chromatography 20*20 cm and thickness around 2 mm, I need know ratio of silic grl to water. Thank you
Slurry becomes very light
Thank you
Very nice video
Ashwin Sharma thank you
HI. thanks for sharing this. but what binder did you used ?
No need to use binder slurry simply formed by addition of water into silica gel g
@@prashantchavan939 what does activation before use mean?
what are other replacement for silica that can be found at home ?
try starch
does silica gel work with UV light?
Please mention the size of silica. Which size is ok ?
Mam i have one question? If u reply
Exellent
Thank you
@@vandanajanghel6872 hello
Thnqu
Thanks mam nice explanation please make a video on next step of TLC
Sure. We will make next step soon
Nic video
What is the mesh size particales
What is gelgy?
It is silica gel G ..Which is used as adsorbent in chromatography
Bsc second year ke liye bhi plzz practical vedio bnaye🙏🙏
Where is the second part?
My gel did not stick to the plates after drying.
تحتاج مزيج من السيلكا والجبص..ودونهما لايحصل التصاق..
Where is the part 2 madam
Find in our list as tcl separation th-cam.com/video/ch8UkjdIAE8/w-d-xo.html
mam plzzzzzz upload vidio TEST THE PH OF GIVEN SAMPLE BY LITMUS PAPER plzzzzzzzzzzzzz mam upload video
moddassir khan ok we will try.
moddassir khan we have uploaded. Please find.
Hmmm wow
SGK Ki Vines thank you
Mera bhi funny channel he
Gel G?????
In Silica gel G ..G stands for Gypsum. Means silica gel which contain gypsum as binder. Chemically gypsum is calcium sulfaye dihydrate
@@vandanajanghel6872 thank you so much 💕
Could you please speak slowly??
Well it is not uniform at all
