Should be pretty much the same because the 8.8 manual is the same document. The S3 can definitely be installed by anybody with a familiarity with the tools and general car wiring. Just be REALLY careful with the canbus stuff and do not pull the wiring harness so that it might get damaged. Most of the issues I see are related to 1 of those 2 things.

Hi, I’m currently in the process of ordering an RSNav S3 “Don’t think I can wait any longer for the S4 :-)” but just trying to determine whether I go for the 10.25” or 12.3”. My major concern was whether the Hazard light button is really restricted on the 12.3” compared to the 10.25”. Being you’ve had both sizes, what’s your thoughts, is it really restricted with the bigger screen?
Thanks for your video that made my installation a success, almost. Need your help on couple of items. 1. There is a antenna splitting wire that I do not know where to install. 2. The touch screen works on Android screen but do not work on the Audi menu. 3. What is the factory default password? Any help will br much appreciated.
The splitter is for the GPS to use the OEM shark antenna. I would suggest you consider skipping that. Lots of people have had issues with it. I think I have a video on how to do it I will look around.
If there is what’s some of the difference between the 10.25 & 12.3 inch units of the S3 series besides cost and size? Your video on installing these RSNav units and great too!!!
I am not aware of any functional differences between the 10 and 12 inch S3 units other than cost and size. I believe there is a slight difference in the screen quality. The 10 inch I think has a slightly brighter and better quality screen but having seen both of them I can't tell the difference.

Hi there, thanks for putting up this video, I noticed that when you connected the reverse camera you only connected the fono lead and not the power wire next to it. I've had a problem getting my rear camera working do I leave that wire off too.
So if you have a OEM camera you do not need to connect anything. If you have a aftermarket camera the wiring you will need depends on the type. There is ALOT of camera stuff in the Audizine forum at this link. What did you do with the gps and LTE antenna? The site says OEM is best. Yet they include new antennas for both. So the sharkfin becomes useless if that's the case.
So tried the adapter to use the OEM antenna. I had issues with the GPS one so I stopped using that and installed both of the antennas that come with the RSNav. They have been working good for me. Both are installed on the top of the windshield behind the rear view mirror.
Glad I could help. I would definately go with the S3 versus the S2 for the sound quality. That said there are a couple of S3 quirks. I will post a video about that later this week. Thanks for taking time to make this video, I am thinking of getting the 12.3" for my 2014 SQ5 (B8.5). Do I need the radio code after install the Android unit. I misplaced my manual with the radio code during moving.
I do not know for certain as I have never replaced a Audi system that was locked. You probably want to ask on the Facebook RSnav group. I know that if the system is not locked prior you do not need the code going forward. Also incase you do not know the code is ususally printed on the radio / MMI units so if you pull them out you can probably get your code.
@@B8S4Carbon Thanks for the reply. The radio is not locked but I am afraid it will lock if I remove the radio during installation. I checked the stickers on the radio and do not see the radio code. The dealer want $175 to look up the radio code. I guess I will keep looking for my manual.

The center speaker wire will allow you to get nav info through the center speaker while on the phone. To do this you must have the speaker hooked up however you can turn it on and off via a software setting on the RSnav. I have mine hooked up but the setting disabled.
@@B8S4Carbon welp turns out I buried that wire way down in the dash.. not worth it. I did however drop the glovebox and get my usb cables and 4g ant installed. Will be using your video on software update next. Thanks so much for all the helpful content!
There could be a bunch of reasons. message me on IG @B8S4Carbon and I can try to help. I will need the version of RSnav you have, the year and model of your Audi, and if you the sound was working and stopped or never worked from day 1. Also does the sound for other MMI functions like the radio work.
Hello, i have installed an android navigation same as yours in my a5 2016 but when I put the SIM card in, it is not detected, do I have to make any other settings in order to make it work?
Make sure you have the SIM card in the right slot. I know that is a dumb point but I have seen people put it in the SD card slot by accident. Also make sure that the gold contacts of the SIM are facing outward toward the screen of the RSnav. People also put it in upside down. If it is in the right SIM slot then it should automatically recognize it to get it activated you may need to provide the IMEI to your cell provider but you should not need to do anything special to get it recognized. That id is under android settings/about/hardware if I recall.

Thanks for the video. I'm thinking of buying this. When you adjust climate / seat heat etc do those on screen indicators still pop-up over top of whatever the active screen is regardless of what app you're running at the time?
No my experience is they pup up when you are in the main menu but not in all the apps. That is a feature that has some known issues, such as the temperature being off, so I expect it will get better over time.
Normally no errors. There is a bug with some cars where the change to resistance in the wiring does trigger temporary errors. The new copper harness will fix those. I have updated my MMI and not caused a issue.
So in reverse. 12.3 does not bother me. If I did deliveries or something and used my hazards a lot it probably would. My interior is currently vinyl wrapped, at least for the next few months until my new CF custom ones are finished.
@@B8S4Carbon thank you for the response. One more question, I see different versions of the 12.3 from Rsnav.. one with a thing bezel and then this one I noticed on their current as to have like a more rounder bezel. When you ordered yours was it from the current photos on the website ?
Did my install buddy now i have no mmi connection with the device i thought everything was plug and play is there any other wire i need to magically connect everything is in place solid thanks in advance
So if you are not communicating with the MMI in my experience you have 1 of 3 problems. 1-Wiring connections are not tight beside glove box or behind MMI unit. (Most common) 2-Correct car type not selected in settings of RSnav software 3-Issue with the LV cable that brings the MMI video to the RSnav unit. If this is bad, not connected correctly you will not get any MMI display although the buttons may actually be working.
@@B8S4Carbon so finally got it working cause i work out of state so im not home often i do this steps everytime i get home but now my issue is im getting my battery drained and im not able to update the unit do you hba eto download the update on a window computer cuz i have a laptop idk if thats the issue
Yes, even with the 12 inch model it is pretty easy to access the flashers because the trim they provide relocates them to the upper left corner with a bigger button. It is partially covered but accessible enough for me.
This does have apple carplay. This unit is only available at rsnav.com. There are other units that look like it from other sellers but the software is different and there is very little support from the company or community.

Everything is hooked up but I'm not getting any sound from the rsnav or the factory radio. Any suggestions?
How do you switch the RSNAV dashboard (gauges) from metric to standard?
It is a setting in the factory settings menu. Download the user manual from the RSnav wiki and it covers the setting in that.
Hey installed the 8.9inch and my control knobs are not working. I have two blinking lights but the controls on my wheel does work.

no faults to system will be triggered ? and what about new software level updates to audi infotainment system ?

What you think 12.3 or the 10.25?! Man I am about to just about to buy one fuck it.
For me the extra screen space is worth it. However the resolution is the same and the 12" does look a bit more squeezed in than the 10" does.
did you upgrade rear camera?
No I still use my OEM rear camera. It is very clear and responsive I see no reason to replace it. Plus my car is still under warrantee.
