The b8 s4 is a excellent platform for a performance 4 door sedan. Although the RS4 is a significant improvement in many ways it does not go where it could. What could Audi have produced if they decided to make a maxed out version of the S4 platform similar to the Project8 Alpina or Black edition. That is the goal of this project; build a S4 that has the best performance possible, similar styling upgrades, and maintain the drivability level. That lead to the name of the project the B8 S4 Carbon edition.
As I started to bring the car to shows I found it was gathering a following looking to track the project leading to the Instagram channel @B8S4carbon. Then came the requests to document some of the modifications. I make every effort to do that as much as possible on this channel.

Changing the quattro badge on glove box trim
I have been looking at the Quattro logo on the dash above my glove for a few years just thinking it really should have had a LED back lite. So I decided to make it happen and customize the badge itself at the same time. This video reviews how I did it.

The LED strip I used is part of a Opt7 kit I use for assorted areas in the car. I actually have 2 kits, one that does the full under car lighting and then another that does accessories. I get a lot of people ask who I had do the vinyl wrap to create the colored accents on my winter rims. The first time I did this a few years ago I had them done at Moe’s but over the years as I changed colors, patterns etc. I have learned to do them myself. This can be done with a heat gun or oven. Let your car sit in the sun for a few hours and pry with plastic spoons. I jammed this shit out recently in about 30 min

THIS WILL NOT WORK WITH 2008-2012 A5 HEADLIGHTS. THEY DO NOT USE BUTYL RUBBER TO SEAL THEM. DONT PUT THEM IN THE OVEN THEY WILL MELT THE HOUSING PLASTIC BECAUSE THAT TOO IS NOT THE SAME. THOUGHT I WOULD WARN PEOPLE TRYING THIS.

A5 8T pre-facelift are "glued" with permaseal. The owen method not work.

where did you get the shifter?
The shift knob is OEM. The paddle shifters are built into the customer steering wheel. The customized shift indicator I fabricated myself.
Love the "cold air intake" that's just a cone filter directly above exhaust manifold lol. I believe that's actually a hot air intake

This method should work on any non-sealed headlights. I did put it back with the same glue but some headlights do not have as much extra so you may need additional
Changing the car on the display. My screen doesn’t look like yours with the car with all the apps circling it. How do I even get to that screen?
Great review! I'm in the process of doing this myself but my question is , why didn't you leave the stock latch too ? It's more secure
With just the hood pins I still saw a bit of wobble in the center. It is not ideal but I decided to go with all three. At least until I figure out how to re-enforce the front lip of the hood or something.

I am trying to remember. I think I had the car in neutral when I disconnected it and that kept the wheel from locking.
Hi, I’m currently in the process of ordering an RSNav S3 “Don’t think I can wait any longer for the S4 :-)” but just trying to determine whether I go for the 10.25” or 12.3”. My major concern was whether the Hazard light button is really restricted on the 12.3” compared to the 10.25”. Being you’ve had both sizes, what’s your thoughts, is it really restricted with the bigger screen?
any updates on this system? still recommending or are there better (more upgraded options of this tablet out there)? Getting a 2015 Audi a4 on friday (concert radio) and looking to get the 12.3 screen and an aftermarket backup camera but no idea where to order from and what the best version of this is out there
Where can I find the carbon fiber hood ?
Custom build from Revozport. They do not do 1 off orders for the s4 last I checked. 10 people or more. They do stock this for the S3 to my understanding.
Shame they don't make it for a RHD car.
hello , I have my audi a5 2008 without nav, music bluetooth and no connection plug , i have just aux in armrest and bluetooth for calls but idk what model to chose for my car from the rsnav... same help please ?
This is something you want to check with RSnav directly because I think you might need to do some additional wiring. I have never done an install in a car setup like yours. Daniel is the person you want rsnav.info@gmail.com

What did you do with the gps and LTE antenna? The site says OEM is best. Yet they include new antennas for both. So the sharkfin becomes useless if that's the case.
So tried the adapter to use the OEM antenna. I had issues with the GPS one so I stopped using that and installed both of the antennas that come with the RSNav. They have been working good for me. Both are installed on the top of the windshield behind the rear view mirror.
Just installed this on my A4 and I love it, quick question, how do you change the units in the dashboard app from kph, Liters, and Celsius to F°, mph, and gallons?
This is a setting in the system settings. Changing it is covered in the user manual on the Wiki plus I think in my overview video.

Do you prefer the 12.5" over the 10.25"? Im on the fence on both for my 13' Q5. I'm concerned that the 12.5" will feel to big...
Yes i think too big, agreed. 10.25" looks pretty big enough for me. This 12.5 is huge
So this is definitely a personal preference. Personally I think the 10.25 looks more stock. The 12" is definitely big enough to look like it is after market. I like the 12" inch because I run split screen a lot and it helps to have the extra real estate. If I did not do that I would have stuck with the 10.25 inch which I think looks better and it is easier to get to the flasher button.

Yes I did. I do that a lot actually the techies that work for me hate it.

Yes I have but the key is the quality of the vinyl. If it is not really good vinyl it will not work with the powder coating.

Comparing the smaller 8.8" stock location to the 10 & 12" screens. How good is the finish in the bigger models. Like is the finish behind the screen properly done?
I think it is very good for the 10.25 inch and reasonable for the 12 inch. I will try to post a video specifically showing the mount.
Safety comment.....You have the engine running in a closed garage throughout the video. No video (or flat battery) is worth risking dying for! Thanks for the video anyway!
Thanks for the concern. You can't see it but I have a venting system I use on cold days.

I find that when doing a phone call my voice doesn't carry over well. People say they can't hear me well at all. Do you have a fix for that so the unit uses the car built in microphone?
So I had the same experience. I am pretty sure I discuss this in my review video. Anyway I do not use the RSnav handsfree, I still use the Audi handsfree. They can co-exist nicely but I would like to be able to use the RSnav one long term because the voice dial works much better than the Audi one. I have seen posts on the Facebook group about people tweaking the RSnav one. I have never tried it myself but you might check there to see if anybody else has done it.
@@B8S4Carbon How do you get them to co-exist? Are you connected via Bluetooth to both the Audi handsfree and RSnav? You still have to change the media source to external in the MMI right? If there is a place with instructions that you know of would love to see. slightly separate thing but also annoying is that when you receive a phone call there is a box that shows up in the middle of the screen showing the phone number and option to hang up/switch call etc. Even if you are in the android auto (z link) app it just pops up in the middle obstructing view of the map or whatever else
