I used to romanticize those far northern places as refuges for calming peace and then I read about the people who live in Barrow, AK and the police reports and suddenly my affection for Arctic tranquility hit an avalanche. COLD FRONT sounds like it taps into the reality of those places and even though your review makes it sound interesting, I can’t spend time with characters like the ones you describe in the story. Those folks make me want to head for the hills with no forwarding address.
Great video man. I love the snow animation. Cold Front sounds like a must-read novel. I appreciated the snowy horror commentary too. That’s my favorite of the horror niche genre. Give me some spooks and gore and shower it with snow and I’m all in!
Great review of Cold Front. I happened to score a copy back in 2018 and I’ve already read it like three times. Can’t believe such a great book can be out of print and totally forgotten for 40 years.
HA! Dont sue me! Good to know Its Loose will be on your list too though. Already preordered Cold Front and I cant wait. Everybody is hyping it up. Sucks that Killing Frost is boring. I love survival books, horror or otherwise.
you want a good winter read horror novel>>>>> CLOWNFLESH by Tim Curran. What if you got the THING and KILLER CLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE in one movie. Its not cheesy horror , its very good. love this one.
Great review! Hearing you talk about Cold Front and what you liked about it made me like the novel all the more. You got me excited to read Snow Man once it gets re-printed
You probably already know this, but for others who might care (probably no one) , Warner Lee ,who wrote It's Loose, real name is B.W. Battin. Wow, look at all those commas. Sorry.
@TheBookGraveyard Hi! Thanks for noticing! I appreciate that. I've been tied up but have been reading and watching. I'll get something up. I just finished some post apocalyptic men's adventures.
@@TheBookGraveyard Cool. I used to have Quarry's Ex, published by HardCase. I liked it, but it wasn't something I was going to hang on to, so I sent it to my grandfather. What do you think about Collins' collaborations with Micky Spillane? I haven't read any Spillane books that I can think of. I was wondering whether it'd be worth hunting for.
@@TOLW_LeviWallace I haven't read any of the books where they write together but I did read some of the later era Mickey Spillane and it was great. So I would imagine that him and MAC writing a book together would be awesome
Great book recommendations for winter, here. Really like your video. Warner Lee is also known as B.W. Battin - I really enjoyed his horror chillders - please have a look at my reviews on Goodreads. Cheers Peter
I already have my preorder in! ❄️
It's so good!
Gotta love At the Mountains of Madness. Tekeli-li, baby! 🤘
I need to read more cheesy vintage horror. Those first two books sounded amazing!
Snoman is mad cheesy but Cold Front was a legit book. I feel like you'd like both

For real. It inspires you to keep hunting down unknown books cause there is still gold out there
Another great review! As a Canadian, I can attest to the true-to-life hijinx of the story. 😉 Happy New Year to you! 🎉
Ha! This is totally a Canadiancentric novel. Happy New Year Jim!
I love me some winter horror
It's the best. Cold kills.

Tell you what, you can license my ideas for three books a month. Haha!
I'm just kidding, don't start sending me books, I know how you are.
More free shit. That is going to be my mantra for 2025. Thanks for another entertaining video.
Who doesn't love free shit?! haha.
This was a cool review (no pun intended), and now I want to read that book. As a Canadian, I suppose I'm obligated.
haha and should be proud!

Thanks Sam! Is Snowman getting reprinted? I feel like the copy that I have isn't that hard to find. The NEL edition is though.
@@TheBookGraveyard It is! And guess who's putting it out!
@FathomPress Nice! You're a busy fellow, Justin!
@@TheBookGraveyard There's just so many books that people want read, we're just doing our part!
Yep! Justin beat me to the punch
I love the old sci-fi channel oringinal movies.Good cheese
They were! They became a little too self aware later on but at first they were great

I love to read this novel called cold front one day i love horror novels but I write short stories on Facebook.
Wow, guess I need to get my hands on the reprint. Too bad they charge so much to ship to Canada!
yeah that's a bummer considering how Canadian this book is. Maybe they can find a distributor up there
Absolutely Im getting a copy of Cold Front! Salut from Canada!
Hell yes. Also, I'm glad to see you comment here. I was wondering where you've been. Haven't seen a new video in awhile.

What's that HardcaseCrime paperback over your left shoulder?
It's The Last Quarry by Max Allan Collins

that's rad. I know there are still copies out there floating around and I hope to come upon one some day. But not from an online jackal haha

Has Cold Front not come out yet? I can't find it on my kindle.
@katiecook6006 The book doesn't come out until the end of January/ early February but I don't know if he's doing a digital version.
