+Diane Betts Hi Diane! Yes, you can use just about any fabric from your scrap stash, but it must be something your machine can comfortably sew through (I wouldn't try it with heavy decor fabrics or vinyl, for instance).

My machine needle broke when I tried this.....will try doing with hand
okay but how do you stop the needle from breaking?
Don't pull the needle when it comes down, at its most vulnerable so no yanking on the fabric. Guiding is the operative word. 😊
