Speaking of Mortal Kombat, the way they turned Motaro from 4 legged badass sub boss in MK 3 into some two legged monstrosity in MK Armageddon was just horrible!
The reasoning behind such a change was because they wanted to include every character but Motaro's length would have been a problem to put into the game. It was either to not include Motaro, or make him smaller. In the lore, if you're interested, it's because the Shokan's have cursed the Centaurs, so they became Minotaurs.
The fact that the 4 legged centaur Motaro never came back into a MK game after 3 except in a cut scene where he died is the most tragic thing in the MK franchise.
I doubt it. It wouldn't have gotten the backlash, but I imagine the crude humour, ugly designs and niche genre would have kept its sales around the same, if not smaller.
Donte is definitely number 1 for me. Not because he didn't look like Dante, but because he was written to be super edgy/flippant and was just kind of filthy looking. He honestly looks and acts like the kind of guy that drowns himself of deodorant instead of bathing and lets his clothes get crusty instead of washing them. A far cry from the laid back, stylish, devil may care personality of Dante.

Well, it’s more a spin-off. The first game was called Skylanders Spyro’s adventure. Then the later games completely forgot it was supposed to be a spyro series game and just changed it to the Skylanders series.
The Lizard King i don’t like how they made him dumb either tbh but i gotta be super honest i like the variety in the body types in terms of them for sonic boom. i’d say knuckles being a dumb jock in sonic boom is the only problem i have with it tbh.
He shouldn’t even be in sonic’s little entourage, knuckles was always the anti-hero type, playing mischievous tricks on Sonic and tails, like in the beginning of sonic the hedgehog 3. His new design looks atrocious and the whole meathead persona just isn’t funny and doesn’t work for him

Brah I really liked DMC, just wish it was under a different IP. Maybe set in the Devil may Cry universe just different characters in a different location. Same here this game was great. I was better at this game than in the original games xD Might be because IT HAS A SEPARATE DOGE BUTTON! I hat the doge system in DmC with the camera angel, i just jump instead of doge and get hit, DMC did it right!

Fun fact, the first few redesigns of Dante for DmC Devil May Cry were rejected by Capcom because they looked too much like the original Dante. Capcom pushed Ninja Theory to Make him look more different. It's a shame because two of the concepts are designs that I personally like. One of which is an alternative costume.
Cortana in Halo 5. For all the little things that game got wrong, that was the worst. Cortana has been redesigned in every single game, so I dont have issue with the concept of her appearance changing. I even like the concept that she would appear to be wearing armor. Cortana in Halo 4, no matter what people say about the game, looked perfect. She had a resemblance to Halsey, her facial features were clearly defined, and you could see in her arms and legs that she was fading away. Simply beautiful. But in Halo 5 she looks like a completely different person. I dunno. I dont hate Halo 5 the way most people do, but that was atrocious.

The different, more and more reptilian designs for Reptile as time went on actually makes a lot of sense when you understand the lore. It is explained in MK Deception. He starts out fairly human and then becomes more and more reptilian until he eventually becomes the reincarnation of Onaga, the Dragon King.
At least unlike with Chris I could see those three Leon’s being the same person RE2 Leon looks very young and naive as it’s his first day on the job RE4 Leon is a cocky and immature yet badass government agent RE6 Leon is a hardened older and more mature agent
Ben Phillis Leon Kennedy from the resident evil franchise definitely had one of the better redesigns in re4. His original design with the red hair looks so wierd to me nowadays since I’m so used to seeing his re4 and re6 version
I'm happy that I'm not the only one that describes it as DMC. One of my big problems with that game was you got someone of a variety of weapons but they didn't work on all enemies so it didn't encourage you to use them often unless it was needed. Devil May Cry 5 did everything right, I love how pretty much every weapon has a purpose and can be used in every fight and looks awesome.
The original Banjo Kazooie was soooooo amazing. One of my favorite games of all time. And when Nuts and bolts came out, I felt so ashamed. Ashamed FOR the artist who designed Banjo. And I wasn't mad, but I was disappointed. Like your dad when you fail a class on your report card.

I personally had no problem with Spyro’s redesign in Skylanders. I vastly prefer it to his design in the Legend of Spyro games, A New Beginning specifically.
@Itch-HeSay Almost everything you said is definitely subjective here. Even though I haven't played DMC V yet, out of all the DMC games (before V) I think DmC reboot is visually the best looking one out of the bunch imo. Ninja Theory really brought their A game when it comes to the level design and the Boss fights were creative as well. I also enjoyed the more streamline approach of DmC's gameplay. When it comes to story I never give a flying F to the original DMC games, which can be said the same to Bayonetta as well because their story is nonsensical and have little narrative flow to them, but at least DmC tried to have a story so I can appreciate that. But in the end it's all subjective. At least we can all agree DMC 2 was the worst, I can't understand how anyone can think DMC 2 is "objectively" better than DmC reboot, like that's just simply ignorant just because they didn't like the Dante reboot design or the change in the lore. I'll play DMC V someday when it's on sale down to $19.99, but DmC is still my favorite for now.

I can actually answer the question as to why Spyro looks like this in Skylanders. After Toys For Bob went with Spyro's Kingdom from a dark and gory MMORPG to a cartoonish toys to life game, they made a red pug-esque dragon as one of the playable characters. Spyro was not supposed to be a playable character at this point. He was an adult dragon and king of the lands. But someone there stated "That little guy looks like a red Spyro!" So they just made him purple, didn't change the pug face and called him Spyro. BRILLIANT!!! Edit: I wish I was joking...
Although I don’t hate it, I prefer the design of Super mutants in Fallout 3 and New Vegas, compared to Fallout 4, and 76. I just like having conversations with them while they violently stare at me with an unending and slightly terrifying grin, and then they talk through their teeth.

@@jeremyroberts8822 Yeah i'm serious. It really made him stick out compared to the rest of the cast. I don't like the hybrid looks for the most part especially the early incarnations where he looks just repulsive. That and if i recall correctly in deadly alliance he had a few moves that were tail hits which just makes it a cool gameplay mechanic that the full humanoid looks can't do. And he still technically is humanoid in all his forms since the way his body works makes him fall under that category, but I get what you mean. Less Lizard more human.
Knuckles' redisgn didn't bothered me too much since the series almost rarely have big bodied characters that aren't monsters or robots. Him being dumb may be controversial but most of genuine comedy in the show comes from his intellect and his brother-like relationship with Sonic.
I actually think the Spyro redesign was my most hated redesign. Also I'm super surprised that the Master Chief suit from 343's Halo 4 didn't make this list. Like, wow. So many people have opinions on that. I thought for sure he'd be maybe at number 8 or 9.

My first DMC game I rented it and ended up buying it once it went on sale I liked it personally but it did feel a bit like a 2008 game

@Itch-HeSay Almost everything you said is definitely subjective here. Even though I haven't played DMC V yet, out of all the DMC games (before V) I think DmC reboot is visually the best looking one out of the bunch imo. Ninja Theory really brought their A game when it comes to the level design and the Boss fights were creative as well. I also enjoyed the more streamline approach of DmC's gameplay. When it comes to story I never give a flying F to the original DMC games, which can be said the same to Bayonetta as well because their story is nonsensical and have little narrative flow to them, but at least DmC tried to have a story so I can appreciate that. But in the end it's all subjective.
At least we can all agree DMC 2 was the worst, I can't understand how anyone can think DMC 2 is "objectively" better than DmC reboot, like that's just simply ignorant just because they didn't like the Dante reboot design or the change in the lore. I'll play DMC V someday when it's on sale down to $19.99, but DmC is still my favorite for now.

9:06 for this one DMC I think that yes this version of Dante is bad but I do agree that it's not a bad game I was talking to my brother about this and he's a big Devil May Cry fan across all the games and he was saying that he would have preferred it if the "Dante" reimagining in the DMC game would have been better if it was just a completely different character instead of saying that hey look at our new version Dante

I can actually answer the question as to why Spyro looks like this in Skylanders. After Toys For Bob went with Spyro's Kingdom from a dark and gory MMORPG to a cartoonish toys to life game, they made a red pug-esque dragon as one of the playable characters. Spyro was not supposed to be a playable character at this point. He was an adult dragon and king of the lands. But someone there stated "That little guy looks like a red Spyro!" So they just made him purple, didn't change the pug face and called him Spyro. BRILLIANT!!!

I think a lot of the hate came from earlier versions being almost unplayable due to the bugs.
They probably played it at or close to launch, should know better to wait a few months.

Although I don’t hate it, I prefer the design of Super mutants in Fallout 3 and New Vegas, compared to Fallout 4, and 76. I just like having conversations with them while they violently stare at me with an unending and slightly terrifying grin, and then they talk through their teeth.

Ript3r you serious? I’ve always thought of that design as the worst reptile design by far but that’s just me. I guess I could see why you like it. Personally I prefer the games where he has more of a humanoid design like in mk9
@@jeremyroberts8822 Yeah i'm serious. It really made him stick out compared to the rest of the cast. I don't like the hybrid looks for the most part especially the early incarnations where he looks just repulsive. That and if i recall correctly in deadly alliance he had a few moves that were tail hits which just makes it a cool gameplay mechanic that the full humanoid looks can't do. And he still technically is humanoid in all his forms since the way his body works makes him fall under that category, but I get what you mean. Less Lizard more human.

Knuckles' redisgn didn't bothered me too much since the series almost rarely have big bodied characters that aren't monsters or robots. Him being dumb may be controversial but most of genuine comedy in the show comes from his intellect and his brother-like relationship with Sonic.

I actually think the Spyro redesign was my most hated redesign. Also I'm super surprised that the Master Chief suit from 343's Halo 4 didn't make this list. Like, wow. So many people have opinions on that. I thought for sure he'd be maybe at number 8 or 9.
